Resort Thread Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB Resorts

Everyone gives such good advice on this thread so I'll ask this here :)

Our first day at the BC will be at SAB then heading into Epcot to the Mickey and gang character spot. I have a very perceptive daughter who is turning 4 during our trip and I just know she is going to ask why the characters are not talking to her - how would you respond to this?

Thanks!

hi all! leaving for BC in 10 days!! Anyone think the wing closest to epcot will be done by then? A few questions, I would read the first post because I know its probably there somewhere but I have a baby who will probably only give me 5 minutes of computer time lol. Do all rooms at BC have balconies, I cant remember? And can babies go in the pool with swim diapers or do they have to stay in the kiddie section? Thanks!

All rooms at the beach club have balconies BUT only about half are large enough for a couple of chairs and a table. The other half have smaller standing only balconies. you should add "full balcony, please" to your room request if this is important to you.

As far as I know babies in swim diapers are welcome in all sections of the pool. Probably not the big slide though

The last time I stayed at the BC, my request for a full balcony was not met. However, that did not stop me from moving the desk chair over to the balcony. With the balcony door wide open, I was able to "sit out" on my balcony. Unfortunately, there was only room for one person. It was a way to get some fresh air and relax, before and after a full day of activities. Neither the chair nor I was any the worse for wear.

Happy early Birthday to you! Enjoy SAB and your remaining WDW time. Great to hear about CG breakfast buffet. I may have to eat breakfast there one day. I've been drooling over the lobster omelet, though - might be hard to pass that up instead of the buffet! :-)
Thank you! I was debating on the buffet versus eggs Benedict and the server said I could get that too so I had that and pancakes and Mickey waffles :)

Does anyone know how the selection of Mickey/Minnie ears headbands are in MK?

I got some custom ones through etsy and asked DD 9 if she wanted to order a pair but she said she wanted to see the ones in the park. Now she's asking me what's the selection in the parks. She loves mind but it's too late to do an order. We leave in 8 days.

You don't have to choose between the lobster omelet and the buffet. At the Captain's Grill if you order a breakfast entree you can also get food from the buffet. It is really nice. :)

Ooohh, thank you! That just sealed the deal... this may be my departure day breakfast plan now!

Great to know. We will be having our final breakfast there in October.

Four days to go!!! Just checked on the reservation for the hundredth time and looks like my family and my sisters family got an upgrade from standard to garden view! Can not wait! pixiedust:
I've seen a few people post this type of thing. I figured a room upgrade would be something that happened on arrival. Where does one see this info?

I received a wonderful surprise when our daughter (DD2) called to say she was crashing our October Beach Club vacation. She booked a trip that will overlap ours by four days. :yay: This is the daughter who lives 1.000 miles away from us rather than Cari (aka Hi Pluto) who posts here and blames me for her BC obsession. :rolleyes1 All of our kids love the BC, of course. What's not to like. ;) We have stayed at the WL with DD2 in January when it was too cold for swimming. It will be really nice to have her, our son-in-law, and the two grandchildren, age 6 and 8, here at the BC when the weather will be good for swimming. Our 6 year old granddaughter is a dare devil and she will love the Pirate slide. Our grandson will love the pool games. This October trip has suddenly become a whole lot more fun than it was before she called.

On MDE you can see your reservation details. I think if it is something that would happen it would be very close to your arrival date or upon your arrival.
I kept checking my MDE for our April trip, hoping that my garden/woods view room would magically change to lagoon view. When it hadn't changed by arrival day I was sure that we didn't get an upgrade. Even when we walked into the room and our room was facing the lagoon our MDE still said garden view. It wasn't until a day or so later that my MDE listed the room as lagoon view. Maybe the delay was because I had booked through Orbitz rather than Disney. :confused3
