Resort Thread Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB Resorts

Never been to beach club but am considering it. I see that the water view rooms are almost 80-90 dollars more a night than the garden view rooms.

Is it worth the extra money? As I would only want that if I can actually see the boardwalk from my balcony ( if I can even sit on it )

Not to mention for the price of that water view, I could get a lagoon view at GF..( Never been here either but don't have the HUGE interest, prefer poly ;] )

Thanks

Hi Everyone, I have not posted in FOREVER, but I always check in to see what's happening here. Especially now when so many of us can only get our Disney fix virtually...

I have a work convention at Coronado Springs scheduled in June (potentially!), and I am going to take the plunge and register for it. I want to spend a few days at the Beach Club prior to moving to Coronado. Has anyone had any luck booking trips there in June with the 30% off room promotion? Nothing in any category for my dates. The YC was available so I booked that, but really want BC. I will of course keep checking, but curious about what other's have experienced.

On another note, I ordered the Magic Candle Company "Beach Resort" candle a few weeks ago....I cannot believe how spot-on that is!! I ordered some extras for my kids. It takes me right to the BC lobby instantly! How do they do it?? And no, I am not affiliated with them in any way :)

What dates are you looking for BC? They don’t reopen until June 6. Might that be the problem? Or maybe pent-up demand is making BC super-popular in June.

June 9-12. I assumed the demand thing may have something to do with it also. I'll keep checking like always!

My family and I will be staying at YC for the first time May 28-June 6th. Could you add us to the "Be Our Guest" list? We are surprising our boys (7 and 10) with a trip since our DL trip last year was canceled and they have been awesome with all the school challanges this year. We thought the pool looked super appealing since it might be hot and we are more likely to take mid day breaks this year due to more days, heat, and current restrictions.

Hi, Ive been reading trough the first page to find out about Mousekeeping and I'm a bit confused.
We're staying for 14 nights at YC, what level of house keeping will we get?

Here us the "current" policy for Housekeeping at all open, non-DVC Disney Resorts. I'll note that if there is something that you need on a non-scheduled service day you can simply call and request whatever you might need.

Housekeeping Service
When you stay at a Disney Resort hotel, enjoy peace of mind knowing that your room will be thoroughly cleaned prior to your arrival and a modified service every other day of your stay.

Prior to Your Arrival
Your room will undergo comprehensive cleaning—with added attention to:
  • High-touch areas, like TV remotes and door handles
  • Floors, which will be steam cleaned and vacuumed between Guests
During Your Stay
Your room will receive light housekeeping service every other day (unless you choose to decline the service). This service will include:
  • Removal of trash and used towels
  • Replenishment of towels and amenities throughout room and bathroom
  • Wiping and cleaning of the vanity and counter surfaces
  • Vacuuming, if needed
In addition, housekeeping tools will be cleaned between rooms.
Inside Your Room
  • Individually wrapped glassware
  • Additional items that have been cleaned, sealed or wrapped in single-use packaging

I’m still trying to get my hands on a YC coffee mug since there were none to purchase during our trip and we couldn’t purchase the ones in the window display. I’ve emailed Disney merchandise, but someone said I could email the resort directly. How do I do that?

Oooooo. *raises hand* Me! Me! I would love to hear a report on the cabana. We have #1 reserved for April.

We'll be at the YC the same time (we're from Seattle too 🙂)

All of the cabanas are now booked for that week, so if you wind up deciding to cancel your reservation, could you post a comment in this thread before you do??

That was me ...... I think....

The other thing you could try is to send a quick e-mail to wdw.gm.yacht.and.beach@disney.com . This usually goes to the Manager-on-Duty who would be onsite. You could phrase it in a way about how great your visit was, but were disappointed in that you couldn't purchase the mug.........

Good luck!

Seattle folks running to the sun :) I will if we opt to cancel.

Thanks, everyone, for bringing this to my attention, and for posting the very detailed current policies regarding housekeeping on the resort side (YC). I guess I haven't been paying attention to updating this info.

I'll take care of that tomorrow. ETA: Or tonight.

Dee

:thanks:

When things get back to "normal" will full house keeping return do you think?
