Scott, just wanted to add my positive thoughts and good wishes for your Dad's speedy recovery. I may still be kind of new to the thread, but feel like so many here are now just good friends I haven't met. Take care.
Sarah
Many of us are friends! I live about 20 min from Dee, have met Teena many times, and last year met (oh God, I hope I don't forget anyone...) DisneyMomx7, TaraK, YCFan, NinjaMom, MommyRosa, JanetMom, HockeyMomR, and Couchy. They are all delightful, but NinjaMom pays me on an hourly rate to tell you that she was the youngest, funniest, tallest, wealthiest, sexiest, most intelligent, best dancer, and best all around person. You can take from that what you will.
Well if Dee is the resort thread Queen you are definitely in her "court"!
PSSSSSS , Scott! We are going to arrange to have you, JnJ Pants and the other people that are narrowly missing our trip dates locked in the Fantasy Suite until our arrival!
Um...I want to be in her court too! I was just voted "Mr. Congeniality" by my staff!
And sadly, we fly back into Boston just after midnight on 8/25, and a mere 8 hours later, there are 23-ish good-looking 9 year olds expecting me to teach them everything they need to know. I don't think we can deny them that.
Scott - I saw your updates and wish your dad the very best of recoveries. It absolutely makes sense to clean it all out while they're in there. I think some of our days overlap. I would love to meet up with you guys if it's at all possible. I can likely convince my sister to watch the toddler for me so I can have a few hours of adult interaction, which would be divine!
Thanks for the thoughts, and we love meeting up with BC/YC fans at WDW!
Not selfish, you want to be sure Dad will be good when you are away. Totally understandable. He will be in my thoughts and prayers
Thanks, I 've gotten some reassurance that after this is all done, in a few months, he'll be better off than he's been in a long time. Of course, I'm still worried about the surgery itself, but I'm feeling better about his prognosis.
Scott best wishes to your Dad and whole family.
Scott MC-Sending good thoughts and prayers for your dad and for your family.
Thanks so much!
So besides Epcot, what are the best ts (not signature) in the area. This is for a family of 5 with 3 dd who are all beginning to try different things. Having said that I have a food intolerance so anything tomato based os out.
Captain's Grille and Crews Cup Lounge work for us. Big River Grille at BWI isn't bad either.
BTw: this is the best thread on Disboards!
Um..yeah.
OK, more off topic, but
@Scott MC we definitely should talk!
I am so proud of the programs we offer at the farm- we have them for all grades, they are hands-on for the students and very well done if I do say so myself.
Plus. Goats!
Dirt Detectives- an archeology program where we explore the 300 year old manor house and the kids dig in an actual pit set up by BU archeologists
In Search of a Story- historical fiction. We explore the house and farm while the kids collect character, setting and language ideas for their own historical fiction stories
Family Ties- Immigration
and of course
A Day at the Farm- did I mention goats? (and a horse, donkey, two ginormous pigs, sheep and roosters)
Our programs are fairly reasonable per student and you are a short bus ride away.
Sounds good! I'll look it up and present it to my colleagues in the fall! Wheeeee! Still looking for that "Seaglass" date sometime in the near future!
Has there been any information yet about what the new YC rooms will look like? Or do we first find that kind of stuff out when they actually start doing the refurb and people snap some picture?
I. Can't. Wait. To. See.
Hope your Dad's surgery is a huge success, and recovery goes well! While this is such a common procedure, I know what you mean about worrying!
Hey, we absolutely love "Flight of the Navigator!" Have watched it several times with our now adult kids...we have an old VHS tape, and luckily our player still works...mostly!
Thinking of you and your family!
Thank you and Wheeee to FOTN! Truly! What a great flick!
Scott MC, praying for your father and your family, it is difficult when parents get older.
Thank you!
