Yes, with Stormalong Bay closed, the recreation staff is doing a greatly increased # of activities daily. The bummer for those of us who like to plan the day beforehand is that the activities and their times aren't posted the day beforehand (unless it changes).

Yes, I meant to grab yesterday’s to compare. But looking back at another previously posted schedule, they seem to have a bit of a pattern with some things offered every day (morning story, complementary craft, different $$ crafts in the solarium 2x a day, campfire, movie, bedtime stories)

Did you ever go to the quiet pools? My husband is a pool person and I was wondering if they are now like the pool scene from Caddy Shack? We're thinking of a 3 night stay before our stay at Riviera.

Sorry, we aren’t big pool people and it was freezing while we were there, we passed the empty pool by the villas a couple times…but I suspect it’s not representative of temperatures above 50F.

Yes, having them in advance would be lovely. We love silent disco but didn’t get to do it as it conflicted with dining reservations and LLs each day.

To anybody staying at the Yacht Club right now, could you please look to see what type of mattress is used on the bed? I'm sure there is a label of model and type. Also, is it a pillow top style?

We lost our furniture in Hurricane Helene and are now in a position to replace the bed (been sleeping on cots). We remember how comfortable the bed was when we stayed there last year.

The UCA National High School Cheerleading Championship event ends today. But more are coming in March, late April and the 1st 2 weeks of May.

My DH was in Texas for work last week and was getting a connecting flight in Orlando. There were line 50 cheerleaders on his flight. Lucky him. Haha

We were booked at French Quarter for a quick two-night, pre-cruise stay, this February 15th-17th. I was excited to see the new rooms and it's one of the last resorts I need to stay at in WDW. Last night I received a "Quality Control Call" from Disney Reservations, which sounded very ominous. I thought for sure they were going to warn me that we were booked in the last non-remodled building at FQ. But when I called back they offered us a free upgrade to Beach Club, resort view. As expected I guess the Storm-a-long Bay closure is having quite an impact. Open rooms at Beach Club on Presidents Day weekend is kinda crazy!

You are also traveling on Presidents Day Holiday weekend so they are trying to fill rooms that would have gone empty due to the SAB pool work and clearing your 2 night weekend stay at POFQ for guests wanting a longer stay. It is a win win.

Stormalong Bay Drained as Disney's Yacht and Beach Club Undergoes Major Renovation

Stormalong Bay at Disney's Yacht and Beach Club Resort is undergoing a major refurbishment, with work expected to continue through June 2025.





The entire pool complex has been drained, and crews are actively working on all aspects of the area, from resurfacing to structural repairs.





Crews are resurfacing the drained pools and have removed all sand from the sand-bottomed sections, which will be replaced later in the project.





The whirlpool spas are also undergoing updates, while the Shipwreck Slide is receiving maintenance.







Additionally, the surrounding pool deck is being replaced.



Stormalong Bay, one of Walt Disney World's most elaborate resort pool areas, closed for refurbishment in January 2025 and is set to remain unavailable until June 2025. Covering three acres, the pool complex features a lazy river, multiple whirlpools, kiddie pools, and an elevated sun deck.

While Stormalong Bay remains closed, guests staying at Disney's Yacht and Beach Club Resort can use the Tidal, Admiral, and Dune Cove leisure pools as alternative options.

Disney has not provided a specific reopening date beyond the June 2025 timeframe.

Less than 50%. Disney initially had the SAB work ending in May but extended through June. And then you have to add in any weather related issues or construction related issues popping up.
