So based on what I'm reading here, a room request may not be necessary as water view rooms are not located on the ground floor?

Correct. Water View rooms are only on Floors 3 - 6 for the regular WL resort rooms.

WL friends, reading this post with great interest as my wife and I are visiting in July and are booked for water view room. I would like to avoid a ground floor room if possible. Water view rooms used to be called courtyard view. You are most likely going to be looking at the upper or lower courtyard. There is a section of water view rooms on the ground floor.

I was searching YouTube for Wilderness Lodge History, and came upon this family made video of a suite from 1994. I was just amazed at the details of the furniture and fixtures in the room. The chandelier over the dining room table is just wow!

FYI: 1 BR’s at Boulder and CC are available with the new holiday discount. I tried to get the discount applied to my 2BR res in November but there were none available. I knew it was a long shot, but it was worth trying.

They're both real nice. The rooms are a little bit newer. Copper Creek studio will allow you to cook a bit. You'll also be closer to Geyser Point.

Studio will have a small kitchenette with a microwave, but a very uncomfortable sofa bed. Only one real bed. Regular room will have 2 queen beds, no kitchenette. Regular rooms were redone during Covid. Studios are converted hotel rooms, all located in the right wing of the main building if facing the lake. If you don’t need 2 beds, I’d go with a CCV studio.

Beds - WL rooms would have two queen beds while Copper Creek has one queen and a sofa bed.

There is a small restroom a short walk from the the pool that had two stalls if I'm remembering correctly.

The health club has showers. I booked CCV just knowing i had a shower going home day.

Yes there are restrooms by all the pools it is a Health / Safety regulation for obvious reasons. As @Sprinkles&Sprints indicated there is a small bathroom by the main WL pool. You can always use Sturdy Branches Health Club which located in the BRV building and has lockers and showers.

Dd is trying to go to wdw every month for a year. She has a local friend that also likes to go so they have been doing one and two nighters. July hasn’t been covered so dd and I are looking to cover it.

How did I get CCV studio for $299? That’s the lowest deluxe I have had in ages. I’m not thrilled with the sleeper sofa but honestly I will take any Disney sleeper over all other hotels.

Right now it’s 7/20-22 but could stay longer , just waiting on her work schedule.

There are really nice restrooms at the villa's pool that includes shower rooms. The shower rooms have doors that lock for complete privacy. They are really nice.

There are four cabanas that provide shade that are open for anyone to use. There are shady areas to sit in, especially later in the afternoon. The umbrellas are over the tables and you can pull a lounge chair to the table for shade.
