Resort Thread Disney's WILDERNESS LODGE

We’ve never stayed at Wilderness Lodge before. If paying cash, would you choose a one bedroom at Bolder Ridge, or a Fireworks View room at Wilderness Lodge?
What if the price was close?
What do you like or dislike about the choices?

I just added a poll question for this.

Thank you!

I would choose a one bedroom over a regular room at any resort, regardless of view, regardless of price.
Why? Size. 100%

We love a villa because of the king bed, full kitchen, separate living room, and laundry facilities. But we have only stayed in them when we have additional family with us. It is a great place to stay if you plan to spend a lot of time in the room and if you plan to use the kitchen. We always made breakfast in the villa. The large coffee pot was great. :)

But a resort room in the WL would be much more convenient than Boulder Ridge. I love to watch fireworks from the room, if I happen to be in the room at the time the fireworks go off. But the view from Geyser Point is decent and you can hear the music from there. :)

First time staying here.
Can you request certain areas to stay in? I guess I don't know what that is but just wondered. is the main lodge nice? We do have reservations booked already,

Does the boat run to contemporary after the Magic kingdom fireworks?

So I just read there is a direct boat to Magic Kingdom and back I assume. Then if we wanted to go to the Contemporary it doesn't start until 3:30 pm. correct?
They are different boat routes. One will go back and forth between MK and WL. That one runs from before MK opens until after it closes. A separate boat will go between The Contemporary, Wilderness Lodge and Fort Wilderness, starting at 3:30 PM. I'm not sure how late it continues.

You would need to book the "area" you want to stay in. If you book a Wilderness Lodge room it will be in the main building. If you book a Copper Creek room it will also be in the main building, unless it's a Cascade Cabin, in which case it will be outside along the shore of Bay Lake. If you book a Boulder Ridge room you will be in the Boulder Ridge DVC building which is a separate building from the main lodge but connected by a covered walkway. You should probably familiarize yourself with the property map and read the first pages of this informational thread.

We were lucky we had a perfect room. It was classed as a woods view & was standard price.
It was on the 4th floor & we could not believe our luck when we opened the curtains to find we could see the monorail going into the contemporary. We could also see the top of the castle.
Quickly we realised that we had a firework/ theme park view. We were over the moon & could not wait to face time our family to show them the view.
We go to the hotel at around 3:45 & were in our room a little after 4.
That evening we sat on the balcony with mugs of hot chocolate watching the fireworks.

Do you recall what room number that was?
