Nope, it's the April schedule.
Interesting! It is still March for me when I use my regular browser. I tried it on another browser, and April was there. I've never had to clear cookies before to see the new schedule. Thanks for posting!

Our seven year old grandson was able to play in the splashpad and he is about 52 inches tall. I think they just want to keep the big kids out.

And parents can go in there to be near their children. There are chairs in there.

We are traveling with my 13 year old who is tall but we are traveling with my sisters kids that are 4 and 2 at the time of travel . Will we all be able to go into the splash area ? It would be a wonderful help if he could watch over the 4 year old while being able to play with him ! :) I guess I have to wait and see ..

Staying 1st time at WL in June for 2 days. I will be going to the parks but have my arrival day- ( I get there early- hopefully) to enjoy the resort. What do you recommend, any hints, hidden mickeys etc. I need to know or would be fun to explore.

Thanks

I would grab a drink or something to eat at Roaring Fork and sit outside with it (if possible) to enjoy the sights and sounds... then walk over to the beach and then around to the villas. The lobby and common rooms over there are very attractive and fun to check out. Then take the covered walkway from the Villas back over the main WL lobby. The landscaping is so gorgeous at WL - just walking around is always a treat.
And don't miss taking the boat over to MK :yay:

When we were there at the end of March, our youngest played in the splash pad area quite a bit! They set up chairs all around the perimeter, so there were seats available for parents and older siblings to supervise. Some parents would sit and supervise and others would walk around the splash pad area interacting with their kids, but not actually climbing on the equipment. I did see one parent going down the slides, but slides are quite small and the height requirement is 48", so it looks like they intend that area for just smaller children.

Thanks pixarmom and johnsonet. Have either of you taken the boat or walked to Ft. Wilderness, I was thinking about doing that as well, since I haven't been there either.

Yes, walked to Ft. Wilderness less than two weeks ago and the boat to CR stops at FW also. The boat ride is super short and very fun. The path over to Ft. Wilderness was great - felt like we were truly in the wilderness as we didn't see a single other guest during our walk! You may want to grab a map before you start the walk - the path ended and we needed to cross a road and then walk down a paved area before reaching Ft. Wilderness. It's fun to walk around the Fort - especially because I'm nostalgic about the old River Country and loved stopping by to see the old ticket booth area (now for Mickey's Backyard BBQ.) We also love Hoop Dee Doo - just did that again in January and it was fun as always.

I second the "grab a map" idea from pixarmom. The last time we stayed at WL my DW decided to walk over to FW and didn't realize that the path turns to the right at one point. She accidentally ended up going down a not well maintained path that was near the old River Country. It was very near the water and obviously not used much, so if something had happened there would have been no one around to help.

Thanks this helps and I am so excited! I am assuming you can grab a map at the front desk? Is that correct?

I didn't realize it wasn't a straight shot to Fort Wilderness so I definitely want a map. I can just see us now lost in the wilderness. Literally!!
Can we get a map at the front desk?

Thanks!!

For the buses, what other resorts/campground does Wildness share with?
Generally Buses to AK, HS, and DTD will make an additional stop at the Grand Floridian on the way to their destination, while buses to Epcot will pick up at Fort Wilderness on the way. Returning from most parks the buses are shared with Fort Wilderness, but Wilderness Lodge is the first stop.

There is a lot more transportation info and approximate times here. Enjoy!

They should be able to give you a map. There are two paths to walk to FW. One of them starts by the marina, goes along the shore of Bay Lake, and isn't paved. I've seen CM's use this path to drive golf carts between WL and FW. This path is nice and woodsy. As long as you don't walk down the part of the road that is marked - cast members only, you won't get lost. But you won't get found, either, except by an occasional jogger. ;)

The other path begins by the bus stop and follows the service road to FW. This path is paved the whole way and we've always seen people using this path. We've also seen deer here, too. The unpaved path that begins behind the marina will meet up with this paved path.

Here is a map of the paths. The one that is marked as the jogging trail, with dashed lines, is the paved path. The one by the lake is the unpaved path. We usually walk to FW using the unpaved path.

We left WDW on Easter after a fabulous stay at CR/Tower. I have been so busy since returning and want to apologize for falling so far behind:duck:. BIG thanks to those who have been answering questions :worship:. Today, I booked an August trip with DD. Since she's going to be a senior, I let her choose the resort and she chose Poly.

I do have some WL and FW photos to share with you that I took last week and I will try to multi-quote and update the Lodgers' Log soon:)

Let's start off with a visit to the FW Blacksmith. I go to FW almost daily when staying at WL, but I have never gotten to see them shod the horses. I walked over there right after a TE breakfast and so enjoyed watching the process. The horses are re-shod about every 6 weeks:

The merchandise photos come back to haunt me! I should have purchased that travel mug and that hoodie. Funny that we loved our return to WL and our first stay at OFC so much, because "wilderness" is not a term frequently associated with my family or with me! :)
