Here it is.

Upon your arrival, you will notice construction work in various areas as we enhance our Resort. Please be aware that certain pathways, including the nature trail, will be unavailable. Noise may be overheard while this work is being completed, but rest assured, construction will not begin until after 9:00am.

• Hidden Springs Pool, the leisure pool at The Villas at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge, is scheduled to close for enhancement in late October along with the beach, marina and playground. During this time, our recently-renovated Silver Creek Springs Pool, featuring a 67-foot waterslide and a water play area for kids, will remain open for your use.

I seriously hope they start checking guest IDs at the pool since there has been a shortage of pool chairs recently, my family and I want to be able to use it whilst we are there without overcrowding problems.

Thank you for posting your email! I'm going to post yours and @michael's mom's emails to POST 1 of the WL DVC Expansion thread HERE.

I also got the emailed letter today. My check in date is 8/1. We're early risers, so hopefully this won't really impact us greatly...time will tell.

Hmmmm, I just received a "Welcome Home" email from the OFC with instructions for arrival there is. I mention of any construction at all! We will be arriving on 8/12

Those "welcome" letters are generic. I don't think the IPO will be notifying guests, only Disney and/or the WL GM will. But, the IPO will answer your questions regarding the upcoming construction. They're located at the Poly, so they may have to consult with WL directly for some answers.

I received my letter today and called to ask about the extent of the construction and was told that they had no idea why the letter was sent out and it was likely a mistake:scared:. A CM at the resort actually forwarded me to the GM's assistant. I was told that I would receive a call tomorrow from the resort's daytime manager. We check in next weekend.

:welcome: to the DIS and the WL/VWL thread! We're honored to have your first post here.

In your case, since you're arriving next weekend, it may very well be a mistake. Did you get the same email as michael's mom? She arrives this month and was notified today that the trail to FW that runs along Bay Lake would be closed and there would be some work after 0900. Her post is on the page prior to this.

I don't think you have anything to worry about for next weekend, especially if you request a North Wing room (for WL). The only issue might be the South Wing ground floor rooms that are under construction across from the VWL pool area.

We arrive the 28th so maybe just a week out makes a difference.

Thank you for the Welcome!!! I asked for a 5th floor room inner courtyard, so I have my fingers crossed!! I did get the same email. My dates are 7/26 to 8/2.

I'm not sure, but we are staying until the 2nd of August. I am just keeping my fingers crossed. It's our first stay here. My girls fell in love with it on our last visit and begged me to come (they just didn't know I was planning on it anyway)! At least I got a few weeks of agreeing not to argue to convince mom they were worthy !!

Pool has been fine so far this week- maybe it was just the 4th of July week that was bad?

Current construction noise- north wing: we were back in the room to change around noon today and did hear hammering. Not a jackhammer but loud. It doesn't bother us because we don't have nappers but if I had small kids it could be disruptive. Still love it here though (but am glad our stay fell before the major work starts.

If you don't mind me asking, where in north wing are you (courtyard view? Woods view?) Are you hearing noise from the scaffolding or is it from the work on the DVC side?

Unfortunately the marshmallows are not free at the Fort; however, it's a little different. You can buy the s'mores kit at the Fort for around $10 - graham crackers, chocolate and marshmallows. It's actually quite a bit....enough for my 3 kids and 2 grandparents for 2 nights :teeth: AND you can see Chip n' Dale at the Campfire Sing-Along - which is free - while you enjoy your s'mores. It's really lots of fun for the family.

Do you know if the roasting sticks are free at the Fort ? (i.e. if we bring our own allergy-safe marshmallows, does the Fort provide free roasting sticks, or do we have to buy or provide our own?)

At WL when we did the marshmallow roast both the wodden roasting sticks AND the Kraft Jet marshmallows (as many as you wanted//er, could eat) were free.

We are supposed to check in Sept 2..... No email yet.
We have not yet decided what we are going to do.

There is ALWAYS a shortage of chairs!! :crazy2:

North wing club level courtyard view. There is no scaffolding that I can see on any courtyard view room. There is scaffolding on the lobby building (north side) which I can see out the window of the hallway where our room is and I'm guessing that's what I'm hearing.

Thank you. I'm going to be calling this weekend after we're within 10 days arrival and want to be able to express my concern about the scaffolding as it seems that they are acknowledging the noise from the first floor south wing construction but not the scaffolding noise.

Is the noise constant or intermittent?

At all of the Moderates and Deluxe resorts, sticks and marshmallows are provided. Unfortunately, at the Fort you have to purchase both. If I can remember correctly, the s'mores kit included the sticks. My DH is saying we paid around $.50... maybe we did. Not sure why the Fort charges for marshmallows??? Perhaps it's because you're getting a "free" show plus a Chip n' Dale meet and greet. Who knows?! If you get there early, the kids can actually play with Chip n' Dale.

My kids never had character interaction like they did at the Campfire Sing-Along! It's really quite nice. And the boat ride from the WL is a short trip!

Hi all

We received the e-mail yesterday from Disney regarding the construction etc which prompted me to scavenge the internet for more information where I came across this thread and read through most of the 107 pages last night!

We are travelling on 16th Sept for 14 nights so as I understand it, the major construction won't start until the 2nd Oct and major closures of things is from the 26th October.

However, I have seen a video somewhere (potentially this thread?) of someone there within the last month showing scaffolding and loud hammering noises. Does anybody know if this is part of the prep work for the major project commencing in October and hence ongoing throughout or unrelated and therefore be finished by September?

We are travelling for our Honeymoon and (like everyone I imagine) will be after a relaxing, quiet time when we are not in the parks so if we know now that there is to be loud noises during the day we will then explore our options - of which this thread has highlighted a few!

Thanks
