Disney's Wide Walkway Gaps

Has anybody else here tripped over the too-wide gaps that exist in many of Disney's walkways (MK's entrance/Main Street/Hub area and also in other parks - I can't recall what footing is where right now)? This past trip I found myself tripping several times over the gaps. I don't know if there's a purpose, such as rain drainage, to them or not, but I'm sure they could find a solution to fixing them so nobody ends up hurting themselves.

I do have mobility issues, but my service dog helps me walk and I haven't had such issues with other places' walkway gaps. She can't help with tripping over these gaps, though - or at least she didn't, LOL. :rotfl:

(Of course, she also can't help with my occassional sheer stupidity, like when I totally didn't see the curb I walked off of! :upsidedow Now that was embarrassing - and, yup, ppl stared. :rolleyes1 )

It could be worse as I have seen someone drive off of a curb.

For me it is slippery walkways and anything like cobblesones. Excuse me idiot designer but have you ever tried to walk over cobblestones let alone take a stroller or ECV on one.

I have the same issue. I like to park to go in a shop and dang if I don't stumble.
The other thing is trying to get down Main St after the night, the crowds and the rail for trolly I get the ECV caught in a rut and have trouble to get back up out of it.

That happened to my friend on a previous trip, except she was trying to go off the sidewalk access ramp and didn't judge the width of it correctly - hit the side of it, sending the ECV sideways falling on top of her! :scared1: Thankfully, the bus driver (internal CBR bus) whose bus we had just come off of helped her get up. And even more thankfully, the rented ECV (on my dime) was not broken! :goodvibes

Yeah, those trolly rail indents caught me up, too, so I had to look down where I was walking when I was in that circular area that's first in the park (on Main St. I don't walk near them, but they can't be avoided in that first area).

I agree, I always trip multiple times, especially in the areas you mentioned. And my ECV and those trolley tracks are definitely not friends LOL. Then again, I have been known to trip on the painted lines in the parking lots...

My dad was riding motorcycles in Indiana back in the 1940's so he taught me all about how to properly cross tracks. Diagonally and preferably perpendicular if you can. I am going to DLR tomorrow and am waiting for Calvin to get stuck in the tracks.

I also learned never to walk or drive too close behind people or you miss them curbs, lol. I got to see the ground to make sure i do not end up sliding on water again.

Yeah, I wish I'd been walking too close behind somebody, but when I walked off the curb, there was nobody within like 30 feet of me!! :rolleyes1
