Disney's Precious Moments Happiness is Best Shared Together Weekend 2006

Does anyone know the details of this? I am a huge collector of Precious Moments as well as a huge Disney fan. I was searching E-bay (I have recently become an addict) and I typed in Disney Precious Moments because I have two of the previous ones and wanted to see if there were good prices on the other one I wanted well instead I found out about this event at MK. Does anyone else know the details of this? I think the event is September 1st when they distribute the first 1,000 figurines. The figurines are soooo adorable. The prices are outrageous for a small figurine that would probably retail at about 40.00 dollars so I am figuring that after the 1,000 are distributed the price will go down as after this event they will appear in stores. Does anyone know if I am right? Check the figurines out, they are soo cute!!!!!!!

The 2006 Precious Moments Weekend at the Walt Disney World® Resort in Orlando, Florida, is now open for registration. Anyone who attended last year’s event knows what fun we had. Exciting Disney exclusive and early introduction Precious Moments figurines, a silent auction, a luncheon, goody bags, seminars and signings - who could ask for more?

This year, the guest of honor is none other than our beloved Sam Butcher, creative genius behind the world of all things Precious Moments. This is a rare US appearance for Sam and we hope you will be able to join us in all the fun.

This was happening last year when we were there. We happened to be eating breakfast at Chef Mickey's on our last morning before going home and they were closing up and selling to anyone who walked up. I got 2 of them and the one with the kids eating Mickey's bars I even got signed by the artist himself and it happened to be my birthday, so he wrote "Happy Birthday" with the date and his signature on the bottom.

I pretty much thought I'd died and gone to heaven as Precious Moments and Disney are my 2 favorite things!

I'd love for some of that pixie dust again. Do you know where it will be this year and if they will be selling to the public when it's over again?

The event is taking place at the Yacht and Beach Club Convention Center, Sam Butcher will be there again and people will be able to buy pieces but so far it says you have to register. I don't know if they will start selling to the general public. Your story is so awesome! I am jealous. I really would love to go to this event but I am afraid I might I have to wait until these figurines come out to the general public.

Just an FYI about the figurines. We went to Disney early last October and the Art of Disney store at Epcot had the first 4 figurines on display and was taking names and addresses to contact folks when the shipments arrived. I filled out a card and was called and able to purchase all 4 figures and have them shipped to my home. I think they called me in January, because I got the figures as a birthday gift (early Feb.)

I called the Events number today, and they told me how to register for the figurines. If you go do disneygallery(dot)com and click on the event, then click on "Merchandise" at the top of the page, it will allow you to register for any left over figurines - I'm on the "Wish List" for two of them. As far as I can tell, they will be mailed right after the event is over, so you could have them as early as the second week of September - looks like I'll be stalking UPS man

I also will be there and I too have other committments but what I did was sign up for the event (I am allowed 2 each of each of the 6 pieces, and they will be stamped the first 1000). I will also get the goodie bag(tshirt, pins, tote etc). I am just going to swing by and pick up my merchandise and not attend the event(tho I would love to). Hopefully, I'll get there at the right time and get the artists signature on it as well. Cant wait to get the pieces.

Thank you so much for posting this!! I just got on the wish list for 3. The gift shop at Precious Moments in Carthage has a Tinkerbell one and a Winnie the Pooh one at the store that I've been eyeing and I definitely want the Disneyworld exclusive of the little girl and boy when I go. I've been drooling over that one. And even though my little girl won't be there in person, she'll be there in spirit. So, I want it anyway.

Precious Moments is special to us because it's been our meeting place to "pass" the children during the divorce. I've bought way too many since Macy died, but they're so special to me and a comfort.

Wow.. Those are so cute, i had no idea they even made WDW PM! Does anyone know anyplace that currently sells a Tinkerbell one??? I would love one of those!! I am thinking of putting my name on a wish list for one that i particularly like though...hmm..

My mother gave me the Tinkerbell one for Mother's Day, and I'm pretty sure she found it at a Hallmark store. You can also find it on the PM website.

We were at the Chapel this weekend, and I saw the little girl playing Cinderella dress-up in the catalog, and was so disappointed they didn't have it yet. I can't decide if I want to put my name on the wish list for that one and the one with the little girl and Cinderella Castle, or just wait until November and see if I can get them when I'm there. I did buy the Winnie-the-Pooh one this weekend, and I love it. It's so great to have two of my most favorite things come together like this!!!!
