Resort Thread Disney's PORT ORLEANS RIVERSIDE Resort

There was some work on the AB quiet pools after the main one reopened, but only a day or two each and they were about done by the time I heard the info. Could it have been that?

It was at the end of February. Was it then?

Fax is the only way to ensure that what you send is directly read by the room inventory team.

You can phone of course, but what you discuss with the call-center operator will simply be added as a brief note on your existing reservation on the system.

Okay, tell me more. I need to book several rooms and have some request such as location, building, bottom floor (is this good for the Mansions section) and room being close together. So fax is the best way to ensure this?
What is the fax info?

Also, do the Mansions area have connecting rooms, any down side to this?

Thanks!!!

Ok. Are there regular river view rooms in Oak Manor or is it only Royal Rooms? The plan is for a river view room in the Mansion's section, Acadian House, Magnolia Terrace or Oak Manor, close to foot bridges. With that being said, any one better than the other?

Also, I was figuring on getting a first floor room but then I saw a post about top floor was better. I figured walking straight out would be best but is it or top level?

I will be booking multiple rooms, any info on connecting would be great. I'd rather location that connecting if that matters.

thanks.

No, it was later than that.

Andre

I give up then. lol It doesn't really matter. I was just curious!

I have stayed in Acadian House and Oak Manor. Oak Manor is a little closer, but the walk from Acadian isn't too far really. It's nice and quiet back there, and there is a bus stop in that area.

Either floor is fine, really. I just prefer the top floor because the view is better and it's a little quieter.

Oak Manor only has Royal Rooms, so you won't be placed there if you book a regular River View room. Magnolia Terrace is a great option, but do bear in mind that there is roofing work going on there until mid-July if that clashes with your dates. Upper floor simply means you won't have any kids in a room above yours making a lot of noise, but conversely you have to climb a flight of stairs (no biggie unless you have mobility issues).

We are staying at Royal rooms and will be hitting MK AM EMH. Which bus stop would be best for getting there early enough to see the welcome show?

If you're in the mansions, you'll have an elevator. This last trip I was in AB, and I definitely wanted to be on the first floor.

Long overdue report of our Princess Half Marathon stay. We booked a Royal Guest Room Garden View and requested to be close to the bridge going to the main building/lobby on the ground floor. We arrived to POR around 1pm and went ot the check in desk as I had not received a text. However, upon check in our room was ready. We had a room only the first night, and a package the rest of the week and confirmed that we didn't need to move the next day. We went to our room which was right behind where the movies on the lawn are in building 90 and on the ground floor. I was a little nervous about the movies with early nights for races, but they never proved to be an issue. I fell asleep even when I could hear the movie. (And one night it was Little Mermaid, which was appropriate!) The location was very convenient for getting to the main building for buses or the food court. Our first night we went and saw Yee Haw Bob, which was awesome! Definitely a must do! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the Royal Room! We were two adults and we lit the firworks in the bed each night! It was pefect for a girls runcation! We loved it so much we've booked it for Wine & Dine in November!

That's pretty close to where I was last year. It's a great location! I also turned on the fireworks every night and I was solo!

Would you say you'd prefer this Royal room to POFQ if you have stayed there as well? We are torn between doing a split stay BCV and POR or POFQ next trip with DD 4. She loves princesses but POFQ seems easier to get around.

I have stayed at both actually! I loved the small size of French Quarter, however, I seriouslyl loved the Royal Rooms! They made me feel like a little girl again! (And I'm a mom of 3 boys and a Marine husband so that is hard to do!) We couldn't get our military rate at French Quarter for Wine & Dine, but I'll be honest, I don't care at all! Our Royal Rooms were magical! the location was honestly, fabulous! (And I ran 22.4 miles that weekend so I was sore after the half!) So bottom line, if I could stay in a Royal Room, I would always choose the Royal room. Because it is honestly a magical experience! (And getting to transportation and the food court were super easy for the royal rooms in general so only a step or two further than at French Quarter. Worth it for those fireworks in the headboards!)

The rooms were magical. We each had our own beds so lighting up the fireworks was a simultaneous thing for us, which was funny in itself!

Great info. I think I'm all set, Mansion's section but not a Royal Room. Definitely river view, just gotta make the decision between first and second but with an elevator, not that big of a deal, I guess.

Any other request that I should make??

There are 3 floors in Mansions section I thought. 2 floors in Aligator Bayou
