Resort Thread Disney's PORT ORLEANS RIVERSIDE Resort

I haven’t stayed at a Mod in a few trips. What type of shampoo and conditioner are they offering? Is it still mounted to the shower walls? Thanks.

Have the boats to Disney Springs resumed service yet?

Still wrapping my mind that a place built on swampland lacks water..

No and to expand on @dansdad 's comment the rainy season weather pattern is returning this week. Many areas of Florida are expecting up to 7+ inches of rain this week. Not all of WDW is swamp land that is really a myth.

Almost all the area around Disney Springs only have man-made lakes and waterways.

So the boats aren't running between Port Orleans and Disney Springs? From what Dave006 said is it because the water is too low? We wanted to stay at PORS in December because of the fishing and easy access to Homecomin' for lunch.

Booked a first stay here in the royal rooms. I know these have not been refurbished in a very long time. What exactly is the outlet situation. Like how many free outlets are there beside the queen beds and elsewhere in the room? I have cpap I need to have directly plugged into the outlet and we will have 3 cellphones and 3 Apple Watches and 3 magic bands and my heating pad. I think I will need 2 power strips but my cpap will need to plug directly into an outlet beside the beds. We would have been fine with 2 people but now that a third adult is coming I’m scared. Also how well does the curtain close off by the sinks. Does it close completely? All other questions I have I can see on videos but I just wondered about these specific ones. (I can unplug the hey Disney thing if need be too)

There’s an outlet on the nightstand between the beds. There’s one on the wall between the tv and table, and there’s one in the bathroom. I think 2 places to plug in per location.

I took extension cords that had extra usb plugs. You can find them anywhere. If you can get a 360 brand, I highly recommend them. I have a bunch at home I love. I ordered a nice compact one with multiple USB and outlets on it. Sadly, it ended up back ordered, so I had to settle for a bulky last minute Walmart cord, but it got the job done.

We charged our phones at night by the bed, and then plugged in our bands in the bathroom. There’s a little ledge that worked perfectly. I feel like the outlet by the tv was not practical, but I can’t remember why.

The curtain was fine. It stretched the whole way across and wasn’t see through, but you will get some light around it into the room.

Thank you this was exactly what I needed to know!

In Royal Rooms, there is a dual outlet on the wall behind the bedside table (one of which already has a plug in it that feeds a dual outlet on the beside table itself), a dual outlet on the wall beside the second bed (the wall nearest the bathroom), a dual outlet behind the table and chairs, a hard-to-access outlet behind the TV/drawers unit that is used for the TV and fridge, and a dual outlet beside the light-switch in the vanity area (used for the hair dryer). There are no USB sockets in the room though, apart from one on the back of the TV.

As a Brit, I take two multi-way trailing sockets with me with 4 x British three-pin sockets, and also a plug-in power supply with five USB-A outputs. You may want more of course.

Royal Rooms only: The outlets are very limited, as others have reported. There is a wall outlet next to the table that would be convenient for at least one of your power strips. There was a power strip behind the dresser that we were able to use to plug the coffee pot into, but we had to drag it out from behind the dresser. There is an outlet next to the sink. Others have already reported on the bedside outlet situation.

There aren't any USB ports in the Royal room, so be prepared to bring all your convertors.

We ended up switching to a woods view room without the 5th sleeper. If the royal rooms were a tad more updated we would have stayed in them but we decided to switch. Saved some money (though not a ton since we added a third adult.). Now off to research where those rooms are located in the resort.

I wonder if some of the rooms have a slightly different configuration because we did not have an outlet here. I thought we might. I remember looking as a lot of hotels have one here but nope.

We switched to riverside for weekend in October for discount. We booked preferred room. Is it worth extra money?
We've booked preferred rooms a few times but found out that were like the river view rooms better. They are at the front of the buildings and a quick walk to the main building. It is a lot nicer than walking through the maze of different buildings in the other sections of the resort. And I think river view is the same rate as preferred. But river view only sleeps four.
