No, the only wait-time screen at Port Orleans is at Riverside's South Depot. Apart from the MK is it usually quicker to drive, if speed is your only goal that is.

Anyone successfully apply the new fall discount to their trip? The CM i spoke to this morning said it didn't apply to my travel dates (1st week of December) at POFQ. Even though the Disney website lists POFQ offering a RO discount.

Just booked POR FQR and wondering how the coffee is in the room. I am one of those people that must have a cup as soon as my feet the floor (and really people shouldn't see me until I have my make-up on ). When I stayed at POP I took my own little pot. Thanks for any help.

If anyone here as ever stayed in the pool view rooms before, ground floor -- how loud was it at night? How about extra lighting from the pool -- do the curtains/blinds in the room block it out?

We had a pool view in April and the noise level at night wasn't bad. Most of the noise came from the splashing of one of the fountains. Plus, early in the morning the workers would make some noise with some of their vehicles. I seldom heard anything in the room but once you step outside it became obvious. The lights were never an issue and the curtains did a good job.

The Fall Room Offer is so sparse in its offerings I am surprised that Disney even bothered to put them out there. But, I can tell you that POFQ certainly is available because we just switched our second half split stay from CSR to POFQ on Monday! I am assuming that the rate was just not available for your particular dates.

It has been a very long time since we have stayed at POFQ and my husband and I are looking forward to coming back to our favorite moderate resort.

Definitely very sparse. I double checked for my dates (11/6-9 - Wine & Dine Half Weekend) and the only host resorts available were the All Stars (no POR, no POFQ, no CBR...I think even the Deluxe host resorts were not available, but I am not a Deluxe girl), and...no thank you. I will stick with the price for POFQ I booked at and stay somewhere comfy.

I am staying just one night, Dec. 3rd. I first booked PO Riverside (Royal Room) on Orbitz, as that was the only POR room type available at a discount. POFQ wasn't available on the Disney web site, but it was on Orbitz - at rack rate. I checked Orbitz again yesterday, and this time POFQ garden view was available with the 20% discount. I cancelled the Riverside reservation and rebooked POFQ. Interesting that POFQ never showed up as being available on Disney's web site, but it was on Orbitz.

If you saw POFQ discounted on Disney's web site, I would book it, then cancel your current reservation.

I think ground floor is not actually included in pool view. I think they are all on the upper floors.

Sorry, I missed this. The recent poster was correct in saying that Pool View rooms at French Quarter are ONLY on the upper two floors, not the ground floor. They are the 30 light-blue rooms in buildings 2 and 5 show here:

And light is not an issue, the curtains and blinds block even daylight out pretty well. Noise levels aren't too bad with the door closed either (and the pool is shut no later than 11pm anyway). The noisiest time would be mid-afternoon when the pool activities and games are being played.

I booked POFQ on Orbiz yesterday with the hotel discount at I believe 25%, plus the YESPLEASE save 15% promo code, plus I had $65.75 in Orbucks. For my three nights it was $415.47. Preferred rooms at any All Star hotel would have only been $100 less.

It doesn't match what Disney told my travel agent, though -- when my travel agent called to ask specifically about what floor the pool view rooms were on, Disney told her they were on all three floors. My TA told them that she thought it was only the upper two floors but Disney insisted it was all three floors. I guess we'll find out for sure when we check in -- because I know the agents at Disney don't always have accurate information! We definitely prefer ground floor, so we'll see what happens!!!

The resort does actually get a number of people who book Pool View rooms at POFQ and then request ground floor, and while it can sometimes be done, it does mean the guest is technically being downgraded to a Garden View room (the fencing/vegetation next to the path means that you won't really get much of a view of the pool itself, hence the official classification).

Incidentally, did you know that for most of next year, Pool View is now the most expensive category at POFQ? Even higher than River View. I guess demand for those 30 available rooms is so high that the pricing structure has been adjusted accordingly.

I think you are right and the CM is wrong -- like I said, I've been given completely incorrect info by CMs before - not intentionally, I'm sure, but incorrect nonetheless. Like the CM I spoke with this week when I called to put an allergy note on one of our ADRs. She said she couldn't note the food allergy on the ADR. I happen to know that they can because I always note this particular allergy for our 'Ohana ADR! She said she couldn't note it on the ADR and to just tell them when we checked in. That is definitely incorrect information.

We had originally booked standard view but then my parents decided to add another night to their reservation and the only way POFQ could accommodate their additional night and keep us in adjoining rooms was to move us all to pool view. We didn't want pool view -- I see no point in paying more money to look at a swimming pool when it's noisier than other parts of the resort and I won't be in the room looking at the pool anyway! LOL But that's all they had available to accommodate us. I'm frustrated about that because we really, really prefer ground level rooms. Oh well!
