Resort Thread Disney's PORT ORLEANS FRENCH QUARTER Resort

I did end up grabbing the lunch time menus. Should I upload here or send them to you?:-)

Thanks, email to admin@portorleans.org would be great (full resolution as attachments if possible please, so you might want to split them over several emails). Thanks very much for your help, that was my one remaining gap in updating the food court menus.

I have pool view reservation but I am rethinking this since it may be loud. Wonder if I should get a river view instead. What are your opinions on the best building?

2 more sleeps and we will be checking into POFQ.
Love the small feel to it. So quiet. Each time I go I manage to oversleep a day or 2.
This will be our 4th stay.
:-)

Good to know. Do you have a building preference?
We have literally had the same room the last 3 times. Was not planned. Building 4. Corner room, top floor. Was near elevator and stairs.
Probably a 2 minute walk to Food Court and Lobby and bus stop.
Its small so not a far walk anywhere.
I think it took 5 minutes or less to walk to the boat dock to DTD.
Very peaceful.

Last year we had a pool view room booked and ended up in a river view room that was right around the corner from pool view rooms and did not have any issues with noise. We have a pool view room booked for this trip too. The pools aren't open super late and we aren't in our room much during the day, but even if we were, I can't see the noise being so loud that it would create an issue.

Have a ressie booked for here. It's best DD could do. Our resort of choice wasn't available for our dates and our dates aren't flexible because we are cruising.
Hoping we like it.... :)

I have been to the resort, just never stayed there before.
Like the food court, except those masks totally creep us out!!! LOL

Thank you. I will keep the reservation as is. I checked the map and pictures and it looks nice! Can't wait!

We just switched our reservation from AKL to POFQ for our upcoming November trip. (Gotta change my ticker! hehehehe) Super excited to stay here again! Quick question about the boat to DTD.....we may have to rent an ECV for the first time for my mom. Can she take that on the ferry boat? Just trying to manage expectations!

So glad to have found this thread, just booked today for November 2016!!! First time staying at POFQ and so excited!!!

Just booked 6 nts in November, Garden View. Which bldg/rooms should I rqst? Would like to be close to main bldg and/or close to River. Really debated on booking River View but figured we'll be out most of the day and since it gets dark earlier, would save the $$ for something else. Don't care about pool since it will be too cold to swim when we get back from parks.

What are your suggestions?

thanks,
JoAnn

Buildings 1 and 7 are the furthest out. Our last stay was RV building 1 and it wasn't far at all. If you want close to the main building 2, 3 4 and 5 would be the best imo. The www.portorleans.org website Andre runs has maps. As for swimming we have swum during the day and a few nights staying in November. I would say most nights people have been in the pool around 9. Except last year when a cold front came thru the last few days.Nobody was in the pool during the day too which was unusual.

Your criteria are so wide (close to main building and close to river are somewhat opposite requests) that I'd just tell them what you'd like rather than giving a building number. If you do want to ask for a building, but not be near the pool, maybe 6 would be a good choice for you.
