If a hotel tells me that paying for a night has check-in starting at 3 and check-out ending at 11 then I’m sure as heck going to expect the room I paid for to be available to me for all of those hours from 3-11 if I so choose to use them. Earlier would be a great perk, later would be unacceptable because that’s “my” time.
This is freaking me out now for our upcoming trip because I’ve never had a problem at WDW with getting a room at the time I expected, but I’ve also never stayed at Pop. Is it common to have problems with this? Have I just been lucky all the other times?
Honestly I wouldn’t let it freak me out at all. The likelihood of you not being able to get your room until after 3pm is extremely likely. It’s just that someone posted that the 3pm checkin
isn’t guaranteed and that created the discussion that lead to some people getting freaked out.
We’ve only stayed at the POP once and while we had to wait about an hour for our room, we still had our room(s) assigned to us at 1pm. I think the holdup/delay for us was because we needed connecting rooms and we were more than willing to wait a little longer to get them.
Actually I’d guess that the rare occasions someone doesn’t get a room until after 3 is because they’re asking for, or in some cases demanding a certain type of room and the hotel is trying to accommodate that? Things like connecting rooms, a specific room/floor/building, king bed, etc. can really complicate things. Those are the situations where you
might have to wait a little longer and if that’s important to you, while annoying, you should be fine waiting a little longer.
I guess that’s me too. I have never had a problem with my room being ready in any other Disney hotel, but I have never stayed value. I’ll be traveling with a 22 mon old so I’ll need a room when we get here. But, we are driving so I might just plan to get there later just in case. I guess I’m mostly surprised by just how much leeway ppl are willing to give wdw.
Maybe but Disney used to pride themselves on being better than the industry standard. There are countless threads about how that’s not the case anymore in many areas not just this topic & I find that disappointing.
In general it’s not a issue and like I said to
@PaladinButters I wouldn’t worry about it. The last few pages are just your typical someone makes a statement, someone else mis-reads or over reacts, OP my over react in response and the discussion snowballs from there. In general Disney hotels are really good at this process. Also, I don’t think anyone is ”willing to give WDW to much leeway”.
Do I want my room ready when I arrive? Sure I do and I the longer I’d have to wait the more annoyed/upset Id probably get. That said, I always expect that there might be a slight delay and build that into my expectation.
Edit: like
@scrappinginontario posted below, I also think this conversation has run its course. I just wanted assure others, that getting a room by 3pm shouldn’t be a problem.
