Disney's POP CENTURY RESORT Information & Questions

Exactly! While I think it’s AoA was no doubt the right choice and a brilliant choice for Disney when they scrapped the Legandary Years (1900-1940s), it would be kinda interesting how the resort would have turned out if they stuck with the Legandary Years (1900-1940s). What would they have done to differentiate the foodcourts for each half century park?
Prohibition punch, Speakeasy sandwiches.....it might have worked. :)

In actuality, it doesn't. My Aunt retired a couple years ago after being a WDW resort housekeeper. She still has friends in housekeeping and housekeeping management. They track everything and the time per room on turnover day hasn't changed one second between a room that opted out and one that didn't.
That’s interesting. I would have thought the floor would take a bit longer if a family opted out for two weeks, especially with the grit and grime that can build up. I do wonder if this means the floor is not getting cleaned as thoroughly in those rooms.

If you've ever worn socks or looked at the bottoms of bare feet in those rooms, you'll see they aren't. It's nasty.

I know it’s an ongoing battle. We stay for two weeks and opt out of housekeeping. We bring a mini swiffer so we can do a quick clean every day or two. Even so, with four people in a room, it’s hard to keep clean. I don’t buy or wear white socks, so that helps. Lol.

If we have bare feet, everyone has to wipe them before putting their feet into the bed. :crazy2:

The floor is only cleaned in between guests.

Why does the surface area of the floor change? You sweep the entire floor and wash the entire floor regardless.
The surface doesn’t change, but the amount of dirt does. I’m actually mostly thinking about scuff marks that need to be scrubbed off. I noticed lots of scuff marks on the floors after being in the room with four people after two weeks. Scrubbing, extra attention to them would require extra time.

It is obvious to anyone who has ever had to clean a space that hasn't been touched in a while. It isn't a difficult concept.

I’m not really sure how they clean the floors at Pop. Do they use a special machine? Or do they do it by hand? Maybe @dansdad will chime in. I feel like a machine would be quicker, but I’ve never noticed them using one. I don’t know.

How comfortable are the Murphy beds? I'm excited for the queen sized beds but a bit worried about the comfort of the murphy bed.
