Would an air mattress fit between the 2 beds? I don’t want to block the doorway with one. Inflated size 76 x 38 x 20. My teen girls don’t want to share a queen size bed and I don’t want to pay for 2 rooms
Thanks so so much!

I would love to know the distance (in inches) from the foot of the Murphy bed to whatever is along the wall opposite it, AND from the foot of the other bed to whatever is along the wall. I'm considering sleeping mats that come in two sizes for width and wondering if I can get the wider one or if I'll have to go with the narrower one. Thank you!

There are some measurements on post two of the refurbishment thread: https://www.disboards.com/threads/pop-century-room-renovations.3573071/

Faxed in my room request this morning. A week from tomorrow Ill be home!:cool1:

For those there now, or if you just left, hows the weather? Think I am finally motivated enough to start packing.

I will add to hot and rainy that the pools have closed frequently due to lightning in the area. I didn’t see the main pool open the first four days I was here, there were so many storms. The chance of rain has been slightly higher than normal at 50 to 60 percent compared to maybe 40 to 50 percent, and the rain has been lasting longer than the normal 20 minute summer shower. I was at DHS Saturday and it rained for several hours. They had Slinky Dog shut down for quite a while, and it runs in light rain (it was still lightly raining when they reopened it). So definitely plan on having ponchos available, as well as a second pair of shoes so you can switch off and allow them to dry between wearings.

The heat and humidity are typical. The actual temps are mid nineties but the “feels like” heat index is triple digits, according to the noon news today. Hydrate! We kept a bottle of water on us at all times, especially taking the bus to and from DHS. One day they had a cart set up selling water about halfway from the bus to the park, but not the other day. There were some times the heat was really unbearable, but we scheduled lots of theater type attractions in the afternoons, and that helped.

I am looking forward to cooler and dryer weather in December, that’s for sure!

They are not huge but with creativity they can hold a lot. My 9yo packed ours last night and it’s currently holding:
- 1 Fallon milk
- 12 yougurt drinks
- 5 bottles if water
- 1.6 qrt orange juice

She’s a master packer I’m finding out!!
My friend has 2 dozen eggs and 2 milk jugs along with water bottles!

Just measuring now.

Murphy bed to dresser is 30”

Regular bed to dresser is 35”

Dresser cannot be moved

Other distances that might interest people...

Distance between coffee station and dresser is 41”

Distance between dresser and wall with closet on other side is 53”

Wondering if a pack n play might fit in that space? Not sure how wide they are? Wall to edge of dresser is 24”

Height from floor up to bottom of Murphy bed when down is 13 1/2”

Don't remember how to post a new subject so sorry if I am posting this in the wrong section.

Where would I want to stay at Pop to have access to the buses and the buffet? Pools I don't care about.

TIA

Bill

60’s section is right next to both, 70’s & 50’s are only a couple of minutes away

All ready to go, we check into pop in 28 days... This might sound like a stupid question, but witch monorail loop goes through Epcot, the going there or leaving. Thanks

How did your daughter like her surprise. I'm quite a few decades older than her and I'd still be very excited.

How are the temperatures in your room?

Thanks in advance and enjoy your trip!

Bill
Thanks! My daughter loved her surprise although she was kinda in shock at first!! It was cute too....last night when we were walking to our room at Pop she suddenly raised her arm and said,’Mommy, can you pinch me? I think I must be dreaming!!’ Here’s a video of the big reveal

Much better than my 9 year old niece’s response lol.

She’s a hoot! I love how concerned she is about screaming outside the house! Also how eloquent and poised for a 9yo! Congratulations on raising an incredible young girl!

:) it was before 7am Sun so it was pretty quiet!

She is absoluteky the sweetest and every single day she says at least once, ‘Thanks for this surprise Mom!’ LOL and then reminds me that I could never do it twice! Yup! She’s tight! So glad I did but I love planning with her too!

I am sitting here looking at the space with the Murphy down. You aren’t going to get a 20” high inflatable bed anywhere in the room. If you had a, say, 6” high, then it might fit with a corner going under the Murphy and the rest in the area in front of the door. But the area by the door is the only area you will fit anything other than a child size or toddler bed. With the bed up, there is a problem with the table leg, which has a horizontal support that means you can’t put a bed through under the table, limiting you to one air bed, not two. The walkway at the end of the Murphy and in front of the dresser is maybe 2 1/2 feet, and three feet from the end of the regular bed to the dresser, so not enough width there. I do not know if the dresser can be moved (bad back so not trying), but there is insufficient space on either side for an air bed although if it could be moved closer to the beverage center there might be room at the end of the regular bed for a twin air bed. There is barely a foot between the beds and barely a foot between the regular bed and the far wall. These rooms were not designed for any extra beds other than a small baby bed.
Thank you for the thorough description. I’ve read that dresser is tethered to wall but the beverage center is moveable. Not sure that make a difference. Thanks again!

Hi everyone! I booked a preferred pool view at Pop Century. I was checking the views from the rooms on Touring Plans, and it looks like some rooms have their pool view blocked by the big decoration/cut-outs on the balconies. Can anyone confirm this? I'm trying to decide if I want to prioritize a certain floor for a request, or if I need to ask for any room that doesn't have a blocked view. I hate the idea of paying extra for a pool view and then not being able to actually see the pool.

No, it wouldn’t because the dresser is almost centered in the space between the wall and the beverage center and you would need both moved to one side to fit an air bed along that wall. Another poster says the dresser can’t be moved, so that means no air bed along the foot of the beds ( unless it’s some sort of half size child bed).

My best friend was next door to us in building 7 pool view. I told her to look out the window for the awesome view! She made me come over to her view of the cutout's armpit!! We couldn't stop laughing, but if that was something she was counting on, it would not have been a great view!
Edit: We were 4th floor, building 7, standard pool view

@scrappinginontario before I forget! Room 5122 is an accessible roll in shower room. Room 5120 is a tub/shower combo. Room 1440 is a tub shower combo and room 1439 is just a shower.

OK guys here is my review. Please keep in mind that I have stayed at POP before and many other Disney hotels without incident. This trip was different. We just got back on Sunday and POP and the parks were slammed! I've never seen it so busy the last week in August. I suspect free Dining had something to do with it. We checked in and had rooms in building 5 on the first floor. We loved the renovated rooms!

On the first night my mother was in her room and stepped on a lump on the way to the bathroom. She turned the light on and it was a cockroach (palmetto bug whatever you want to call them). She killed it but it made her want to switch rooms. I talked her out of it and said it could just be a one time thing. The second full day my daughter and I were getting ready to go to Animal Kingdom park opening in our room and she saw a cockroach scurry up into our coffee area. I killed it with a flip flop and flushed it down the toilet. This is when I realized that there were probably cockroaches in building 5 and that it might have an issue. My daughter is 14 and hates bugs so I knew that we would have to switch rooms. Not 10 minutes later she saw another cockroach scurry under the coffee center. I called guest services and arranged for both rooms to be moved. They told us to pack all of our bags and leave them under the windows and that they would send us room texts later in the day when our new rooms were ready and move our luggage to the new rooms. My mother and brother got theirs before us and we just left our essentials bags in their room. I did not receive my room text until 7pm while we were eating at Cape May.

My daughter and I stayed at EPCOT for extra magic hours that night and got back to the resort around midnight. We walked in our room and our luggage was not there. At this point I was not a happy camper. It was late. We were tired. We had been basically roomless all day. I went to the lobby and talked to luggage services. When I walked into the luggage room my suitcases and totes were on a rolling cart just sitting there. I said "These are mine can you help me bring them up." The cast member stated he was busy and only had one guy running luggage up to rooms. I asked if I could just take the cart myself at this point. He said yes and to just leave the cart by the elevators when I was done with it. So at midnight I was rolling a luggage cart up to my room. It was noisy and I felt bad for anyone I might have woken up. He gave us all three fastpasses for Magic Kingdom the next day for my troubles.

Don't get me wrong there were good parts to this trip but this experience has made me cancel our February trip to the Poly and book Vegas instead. We won't be back to Disney for a long time.

Sunday night someone from our Facebook August group said she had cockroaches in her room in building 1 and another stated they had to leave due to bed bugs. Disney resort management needs to get it's act together and fast. Pop is a mess right now. IMO
