I'm not quite to booking yet (hopefully by the end of the week), but in researching possible places to stay for my August visit (celebrating my birthday - slightly late, but within the 31 days of the event :) )! Since I'm celebrating my birthday, I think it would be super cool to request to stay in the 70s buildings since I was born in 71! :) I realize it's only a request, but maybe adding the reason on would help?

Has anyone else gone on a birthday celebration and requested to stay in "their" decade? Or is that too cheesy?
Not cheesy at all! Okay, well, maybe it is cheesy......but that's what we do. :teeth:

Just got back late last night from our first stay at POP. We were there from Dec. 19-28 so we had a nice long stay but we were still sad to leave. We absolutely loved the resort and hope to stay there again. We were in the 60's section building 5 on the 3rd floor lakeside and loved the location. It was so nice to be close to Classic Hall and the pool. We did not request that specific location but we're hoping to get it or 50's or 70's lakeside. Our only requests were adjoining rooms with one set of connecting rooms (we had four rooms total) and close to Classic Hall. We were absolutely thrilled to get our request and have such a great location.

We loved everything about POP. We thought the CM's there were great and we received top notch friendly service from everyone there. Concierge was amazing in replacing my niece's magic band when it got lost. They took the extra time to find an orange one (her original color) which meant a lot to her. They also went above and beyond in helping us sort out a mixup on our BOG preorder and dining credits. We had great housekeeping and found the CMs in the food court and gift shop to be very helpful and friendly.

We enjoyed the food in the food court. With 10 of us, we sampled quite a few of the menu items and the only one that was disappointing to any of us was the Sesame Chicken. I loved the chicken pot pie and the POP waffles. Of course, everyone loved the ice cream sandwiches and sundaes!

Bus transportation was amazing! We couldn't believe how efficient. We never had a long wait and whenever there was a long line, more buses were instantly there. We were very impressed.

We thought it was a fun resort with a great vibe. It was perfect for our family and we felt right at home. We were grateful for all the information and recommendations from the Dis! POP was a great choice for us!

So awesome to hear you had such a great time. One more day for me, yay!!!

Officially booked August 18-23!! Just waiting to call now and put my requests on (70's building as I'm celebrating my birthday and was born in 71; lake view; king bed in that order - though I am debating about switching the lake view and king bed... hmm...)!

Super excited!!

(And watching the SyFy Twilight Zone NYE marathon I'm even debating doing Studios on the Sunday morning if I can get FP+ for ToT before meeting friends at Disney Springs in the afternoon.)

Question for the Pop Century veterans. :) This is my husband's and my first stay at Pop, and I'm eligible for online check in now. I was going to go ahead and do that, but honestly - I have no idea which building to stay at on this property.

I'll say that we're really not picky. We've stayed at the All Star resorts during cheerleading competition time, and no one ever really bothers us in terms of noise or anything. And we're not afraid of walking a bit to get to a bus.

But what are your recommendations? Thoughts?

Thanks! :)

If you're really not picky then don't make any requests. Just take what you get.

I booked a bounce back offer when I was there last week for May 30 - June 4. The cast member who I spoke to on the phone was kind enough to go ahead and put in my room requests. She actually offered! I've never had that happen before. We came back again this week and are staying at All Star Sports.....I sure have missed Pop this week!

Question about the busses to the parks...

On a review someone just posted, the OP and another poster both mentioned first busses to MK arriving full. I was under the impression that POP has its own bus route, so I'm confused as to how busses would arrive full. Do they share with AoA for the first runs or something?

I love POP. I have stayed there 3 times before. Currently waiting to book for Feb 2017, which is a LONG way off :faint:. Oh well, it will be my girls first trip to POP and to Disney World! I know they will be excited about the larger than life characters. :cool1:

In multiple stays, I've never had that happen or have heard of that. As far as I know, Pop never shares and we've been on the first Pop buses to MK multiple times.

Thanks. They came back and clarified that the line was too long for them to get on the first bus. THAT makes sense to me more than "it arrived full".

Yes that can happen. We were on the first bus to MK last Christmas morning, and boy did the queue behind us fill up fast! Many people did not make it on the first bus. But another bus pulled up just as we were pulling out.

That's what I figured. I just wanted to make sure things hadn't changed with the bus. :)

Super excited to stay at POP in August!! Got everything all booked - and requests plus celebration phoned in! :) :)

I stayed there last week, it was nice and enjoyable. A bit dated in decor but what are you gonna do.

We were in the 90's building which was a LOOOONNGGG walk to the buses, but we ended up finding shortcuts.

I am positive I could read through 149 pages and find the answer but could someone tell me if all the rooms have refrigerators or just certain rooms.

The refrigerators in the rooms, are they actual refrigerators? Or just coolers? Like will it keep milk cold? How big are they? Can you fit a half gallon of milk in the fridge?

(Sorry so many questions, it's been years since i've stayed at POP)
