Disney's POP CENTURY RESORT Information & Questions

As a POFQ Nerd (now staying at POP for the first time) ... i can tell you that their (POFQ) bus service is Fantastic. You NEVER wait long for their buses and nor are their buses constantly crowded. It's a small resort. They only need one bus stop. It's the one thing that I know I'm going to miss. Plus their boat that takes you to Downtown Disney is just heavenly.
I just returned from a stay at POFQ 2 days ago. Stayed there pre and post cruise. Couldn't get a room at POP, so we had to try POFQ. Not bad but we also got it 50% off. So for $91weeknights and $101(Fri/Sat).
But the bus service was NOT fantastic! Actually far from it. Had one of the rudest bus drivers ever there. I called him out on his behavior and he did start apologizing and back peddling in what he said because he knew he was wrong and if I reported it, he would get reprimanded. We also shared with POR more than we didn't which made for VERY crowded buses. I would have much preferred the single stop at POP than the buses at POFQ. Luckily we got to a point where we just started driving because the buses at POFQ were that bad IMO.

Checked in last night!

So far, so good (other than the weather forecast lol).

We requested 1st floor and close to transportation (standard room), and it worked out great this time, as we got a prime room in the 60s section, right next to the central elevator of building 4.

Off to our BoG lunch for now!

If anyone has any questions I'll try and pop in (hehe) over the next few days and answer if I can!
If you could check, what are the current refillable mug color choices?

Thanks for the reply. I have a few of the current refillable mugs. I'm trying to avoid duplicates. Looks like it's purple and a duplicate.

I'm sorry you didn't have a good experience with the busses at POFQ! We didn't have any issues at all during our 14-day stay last year. The only time we shared a bus with POR was during "off times" such as mid-afternoon and we never shared an MK bus, no matter what time of day. I'm sorry to hear that's changing. :(

Unfortunately we used the bus the most for MK since it was such a pain to drive there. Every time we shared except once. And coming home was worse!!!
Coming home from Epcot we shared and it was after closing??!!!!
At that point, we decided to start driving. We drove to the Studios since DD works there and knows where to park. But on a scale of 1 to 10, the bus service gets a 2. POP has way better!!!!

Hope you have a great trip! If you go to the food court at Pop, could you take a look and see if they have honey packets for tea, if you have time, please? Thank you!

I will check tonight and get back to you!

I only saw the one stitchlovestink mentioned, so I'm guessing that's all there is. :drinking1

Pretty bummed. Just checked into POP and didn't get any of my room requests. I had requested top floor, lake view and 70s building. Got 2nd floor, 90s building overlooking the pool. I was hoping to at least get one thing.

Have you asked about getting your room changed to something more to your liking? You don't have to take what they give you unless they are full and nothing to offer. On our last trip we had the samething happen. I brought it up to the CM checking us in and they were able to get what I originally was asking for. Remember it is never to late to ask for a room change.

Totally agree. Don't settle.

I see farah beat me to it, but yes, they did have honey. It's in those little plastic tub things like jelly comes in. It's next to the coffee/tea condiments area where the sugar and creamer are.

Awesome! Thanks so much for checking.

Just out of curiosity, in what way did you submit your requests? I'm guessing either fax or through a travel agent? Only reason I say that is that the website online check-in only has 2 choices, and we got both of ours (1st floor, close to trans). It's very odd that they couldn't even secure one of those three. I'm just wondering if maybe your requests didn't get properly attached to your room res. If you'd still like to switch, I'd echo what others said above and see if they can move you. As long as there are empty rooms they should be able to shuffle.

As a side note, CMs have been amazing so far, both at Pop and the parks.

I highly recommend not faxing requests. That is NOT a priority for them. And if they are busy, they may not get around to them for a few days. My friends who work there say that is the WORST way to make requests.
