I do agree that the food court can get really busy but the food is normally really good.
I soooo miss some of my old favorites

The mom's night out tv dinners.
They had a different special every night and they were super yummy.

They also used to had a philly steak wrap that was yummy:

and of course, the chicken alfredo---they still have this but they call it Chicken Parmesan:

Hoping to find some new favorites this year and don't forget to have your receipt stamped for your desert "create your own" sundae (definitely enough to share:

Can't wait for November!!! Got my ressie yesterday! FREE DINING November 18-25th! POP here we come!:jumping1:

I always wanted to try the Mom's night out, but never got it before they changed. :( But that brownie looks delicious! I am going for it!!! I really only get desserts with my meals when I get free dining, and I have that this year, so thanks!

We were supposed to arrive tomorrow evening for mom and dad's 30th anniversary celebration, but mom's knee has been acting up and she's in severe pain. As of yesterday, she'd been to the bone doctor 4 times, and ER 3 times, and still in pain. So, we've had to push our trip back. There's no way she would have been able to do 10 days in Disney with her knee in this condition. After spending 3 hours on the phone with Disney ( after calling the airline & the dog boarding place ), they allowed us to postpone our trip without losing any money. Of course the price increased, so we'll have to pay another $200 since it was paid in full, and they wouldn't just give us a credit for it either... we had to pick another date. So... looks like we're heading down in November now for mom & dad's first MVMCP! Does it stink having to wait an additional 6 months? Yeah, of course. But mom's health is first. I'm just so thankful that Disney was so accommodating and willing to help.

I was able to book POP with free dining Sept 23-29!! This will be our family's second trip to Disney. We went last Sept with free dining and stayed at AoA, so while there we walked over to POP to check it out. Excited for our stay there! Woohoo!

We haven't been to WDW since 2011 and are so excited to be returning to POP Sept. 26 through Oct. 3. The kids are a lot older, so I'm hoping we aren't too cramped in the room. Just couldn't pass up free dining and a mod isn't in the budget this time around. I don't imagine us spending a lot of time in the room, though. Lol

Does anyone know if you are able to get peanut butter to put on toast? I remember reading that the packets were removed from the food court and I do not want a full jar. DH is used to eating a big breakfast and I am not.

Our last trip was in October 2012 and we stayed at Pop Century, prior to that was All-Star Movies in November 2010.

Monday I booked another stay at Pop Century during the third week of November thanks to Free Dining. Ideally we wanted to stay at Art of Animation, but we don't need the space of a suite and the Little Mermaid rooms weren't available with Free Dining (and not at all otherwise during the week we'll be there, as far as I can tell).

The hotel room is for us to sleep and bathe and that's about it, so I don't mind being on the "Value" side of things.

There is only 1 preferred location area. It is the area highlighted in bright, light blue in the 60's section:

Preferred is going to be in front of the hippy dippy pool and closest to Classic Hall. Right through Classic Hall is the bus stops so you shouldn't have to request "close to transportation".

Looking at this it seems like any of the standard rooms could be acceptable. I'm beginning to look at staying here on my next value trip (maybe early 2016) and am trying to decide on preferred (don't want to face a pool) or standard. I don't mind longer walks and hate walking past the giant icons so a standard on the back side of a building would be great for me.

The little peanut butter packets were there this past September :confused3
They were on the soda bar area with the butter. They were little individual small tubs.
If they stop providing them, it has been since the end of Sept/first of Oct.

If you can now get free peanut butter packets at Pop / value resorts, this is big news for me! While jam packets have been available, we always packed a PB jar to take with us. My last WDW resort stay was (too long ago) in Feb 2014, so it'd be nice if they're now offering peanut butter packets along side the jam packets.

I eat peanut butter on my waffles and there was definitely peanut butter in the little individual tubs.
I had to dig for them sometime since they were in those black holders and they would fall to the bottom. They are not as ample as the jelly, syrup or butter packets but they did have them.
I will probably pack some peanut butter this trip since I am now scared that they won't have them, now that I have posted this :rotfl:

I know the lifeguards are at the pools from 10am-10pm but what are the hours currently (they have changed over time) that they let you start swimming in the morning? Possible for some pool time before heading to the parks in the morning? Thinking maybe around 6am-7am so we can get an hour or two before heading to the parks.

We're booked at POP November 10-18 with free dining. So excited!! This will be our first time staying on Disney property so this has been a great thread for me!!

Actually right not the lifeguard, and therefore pool, hours are from 10a-10P. Starting the Friday of Memorial Day weekend, they switch to 9a-11p. They stay that way until the Tuesday after Labor Day when the go to 10a-10p. The stay like that until the first week of January and they switch to 10a-8p.

I just looked at touring plans, they have a great portion on their website that shows every room category and the view of the room with all the info pertaining to each room (bed type, distance from transportion or food court, connection room info, etc).

There are only 8 Preferred pool king rooms. They are all connecting to a room with a double bed. They are also all handicap accessible rooms. They are all in building 5 (Mogli & Baloo).
Rooms:
5167/connecting to room 5166
5267/connecting to room 5266
5367/connecting to room 5366
5467/connecting to room 5466
5170/connecting to room 5171
5270/connecting to room 5271
5370/connecting to room 5371
5470/connecting to room 5471

Handicap accessible King is a bookable category so it is going to depend on how many are booked during your stay. If you are not assigned one, you can always ask and if one comes open during your stay, you would have to be willing to move.

Hope this helps.

I was looking for information likes this in touring plans but could not find it. Could you please tell me where to look. I could only find a resort map.....nothing with room numbers, king or double, or connecting information. Thank you for posting this! I'm looking for building 2 in the 50's section

When you log into touring plans, across the top you will see the word "more" in the white band across the top.
Click on more and it will give you a drop down of options
At the bottom of the list, you will see Resorts & Hotels". Click on that.
On that page, over to the left, Look for the maroon banner that says "Hotels Home".
The first option under that banner, you will see "Hotel Room Views" . Click on that.
You will see a list of resorts, click on POP Century
Over to the left, you can filter by the room type, walking distance to lobby or transportation, floors, sound level, accessibility, etc.
If you click on the building in the picture, you can see the view from every room by clicking on the room #.
Notice at the top right (just above the picture) you can change the floor #.
Also notice that each building is situated the same in the picture so you will have to focus on how the building sits on the property map to make sure you are looking at the same room.

Hope this helps :flower1:

Great info, just a little pool insight from our September trip.
POP and the other Disney resorts have become extremely strict with their pool hours since the drowning of the little boy at POP back in March 2013.
When we were there in September, as soon as the life guards were off duty everyone was made to leave and Security would be there.
I would walk early in the morning and there was always security on duty to ensure no one was in the pool as well as late in the evening when we came in from the parks after the posted hours.
