Disney's POP CENTURY RESORT Information & Questions

The "problem" isn't just with the Skyliner start time, it's that you have to be through the security and mob scene at DHS to secure a BG for RotR, so you have to add time enough to ride the Skyliner (and hope there's no stoppage), join the mob, get through bag check and security and tap into the tapstiles early enough to be set to get on the app and load the BG info. At this point that advice is to skip the Skyliner as it doesn't start early enough for an 8 am opening (if you are going for RotR)... at least for now.

Forgive me if this has been discussed before, I only went back about 20 pages to catch up on this thread, but how early does the Skyliner start for EMH mornings? I’m less concerned about EPCOT, but trying to figure out if we would be better of taking a bus to Hollywood Studios when we try getting a boarding pass for Rise of the Resistance? Our trips not until July so obviously things can change, it just trying to get an idea of what works best, at least for now.
As if right now the bus is your best choice for sure.

There was a report yesterday if someone who arrived inside DHS gates 15mins after park opening and was assigned boarding group 174. The boarding groups called were only in the 90’s that day so they did not get to ride.

As excited as I am to ride the Skyliner, if things stay as they are I’ll be taking a bus to DHS the day(s) we hope to ride RotR. (I will also be allowing an hour for us to get through security and into the park. Better safe than sorry!)

Has anyone ever been gifted FD by Disney on check in? I swear I read somewhere once that someone was given QS FD when they checked into a value resort before.
I only ask as we are paying full price for 14 days at Pop with 10 day Parker hoppers, with memory maker and had an unusual message come up the other day in MDE when updating my reservation saying that if I updated I will lose my FD plan but we haven’t added any dining plan to our reservation.
Same message for both linked reservations I have.
Don’t have my hopes up could be just another MDE glitch.

Does the POP have rentable or coin lockers? If so does anyone know where and how much they cost and size(s)?

I think I read about people renting one for there refillable mugs, because it was closer to the foodcourt, when researching our last trip.

Is there any where i can store my luggage at Pop Century if i plan to arrive super early? I can't check in until 4pm and i need somewhere to put my luggage for the day - I was told Bell Services are not open to hold/store luggage until 7am - i was planning to arrive around 5.30am to drop off my luggage and head straight to DHS park for the day ?

Does the store sell larger (not single serving) containers of cream cheese? Anything else worthwhile? We prefer to fly carry-on only, so no gels or liquids over 3oz.) but I'd like to have some easy/cheap breakfast options so we save our meal credits and time.
I usually order a few groceries from Instacart because they’re cheaper than Disney prices, but if you’re only looking for a few things, then I’d suggest taking the Skyliner to the International Gateway and checking out the gift shops at BC and BW. They both have DVC villas (which have kitchens or kitchenettes), so they have a grocery section that’s bigger than regular resorts. I know that I’ve purchased cream cheese at Kidani and I’m almost positive that I saw it for sale at BW too.

Lockers are available near the Hippy Dippy pool in the building that houses the laundry facilities. Sorry, I don’t know the cost.

If you were going tomorrow, I'd tell you to take the bus at least 1 hour prior to DHS opening to maximize your chance to get a BG. The skyliner didn't start moving until 645 when we were there in Dec (7 am DHS opening). That being said, watch what is happening before your trip because things can change. The skyliner is so much quicker than the bus so if it is running early I would go for it, but we didn't have any stoppages in the multiple times that we rode it.

We were at Pop Century last week. We had our car and drove to HS because the line for the bus was too long. There wasn’t any traffic going into HS parking lot. We left around 5:15 and through security and in the park by 5:45. The skyliner wasn’t running that early. I would suggest getting to the bus really early or taking a car, Uber or LYFT.

Might be worth giving them a call to clarify.

signs at POP this morning that beginning today buses to EPCOT and will only be running once/hour.

So will the Skyliner be running early enough to get us to DHS to get through security/tap stiles and ready to to join BG for ROtR? We arrive in 7 days and heading to DHS on the 16th. At least we have time to monitor this. If not guess it will be a Lyft trip for us.

I hope that means that Skyliner will start running by about 6:30 a.m. (or earlier) or that buses will run more frequently than once an hour for the hours that Skyliner isn't open yet (like from about 6-8 a.m.) for PPO ADRs and getting to Star Wars land early.
Yeah, that would be a cluster if the skyliner isn’t running early enough and buses only come once per hour in the morning. :scared:

We stayed at POP a few weeks ago. LOVED the Skyliner. it Was down for short periods which was fine except I realized when we would get up and go eat breakfast we had to find someone to ask if it was running because it did make a difference weather we headed towards the buses or the Skyliner. (it was down one morning and a cast member back by the skyliner was directing people to buses) I wish there was a way to check that on our own

I just called guest relations and they said that when the Skyliner is not operating they will have buses every 20-25 mins. for those wanting to go to DHS early in the morning or for whenever the Skyliner breaks down. She also said the same goes for all Skyliner resorts (phone CM so you know)
