I just found the instructions on their website! Playing with it now!

I got the exact room I requested!! 70s facing the lake! I'm thrilled and love the resort already!!

I think the Touring Plans faxes are a new benefit. I don't remember hearing about them until just this year. I have my requests in and check in a week from today!!!!

My stay begins June 8. I didn't make room request yet. When do I make request? Phone or fax?
Want a quiet room & would love a lake view. Thinking 60s building

It's best to call and add any room requests to your reservation. You can do that any time from the day you book up until 4-5 days prior to your arrival. I would word your request as "upper floor" and "lake view". If those 2 requests are granted, you will have a quiet location.

I agree, what your asking for is a standard room. Are you booked standard?

Yes standard. Thanks

I agree 4th floor, lakeview and all the standard rooms in the 60's are lakeview. Keep in mind that building 3 (50's) and 4 (60's) top floor are the most requested standard area's since you can possibly get a glimpse of the night time fireworks from some of those rooms. Most 4th floor lakeview rooms in buildings 3, 4, 5 or 6 have beautiful views unless they are blocked by tree's but you will get the quite. Even the lakeview rooms in building 2 are good but they can be a trek after a long day at the parks. If you have a touringplans subscription, they have a great website page that lets you see the view from every room in the resort.
:tinker:Pixie dust for a great room!

When I put a room request in, is it best to request a specific building or a more generalized area? We were hoping to be on the backside of buildings 3, 4, 5 or 6 or should I mention something more generalized?

I just found the instructions on their website! Playing with it now!

Could you help me, where do I find the instructions on how to do this? I can't figure out how to put my room request in on TP? I did the online check in through WDW's site 60 days out, but I'd like 60's, 4th floor, standard room, so I figured if I could add the request through TP, even better!

At the top of my TP dashboard, it says my trip, dates, resort, but next to the resort name it says "Requesting room - any" but I can't figure out how to change this, or prompt the fax for the room request?

Thanks :)

I just googled "how to use touring plans to request a room" and go this:

disboards: I hope it is ok to post this??? If not please accept my apology in advance and I will remove it.

The more choices you give the better chance of getting what you want.
All the area's you have described are standard room requests. Are you booked standard?
If so, I would make my request buildings 3, 4, 5 or 6, lakeview.
That will give the room assigner plenty of options to get you into a room on the backside of one of those buildings and if you have no other requests (floor, close to XXXXXXX, connecting rooms, etc) then you should have a great chance of getting your request (just remember, they are requests only, no guarantee's)

I stayed at POP last september and was very happy with it. This Sept, i am going with my husband alone and i originally booked at PO riverside because of the queen beds. However, i am thinking of rebooking to Pop again to save $$$, but i don't like sleeping on the double beds with my hubby (we have king at home) ....(last year i slept by myself since it was my adult son and myself, had our own beds) Can i ask for a King bed and get it guarenteed? or it just request only?

It is a request only. Disabled and/or earlier arrivals will have priority over you.

September 8-12 of this year! Hopefully low crowds, from what I hear it will be the week after Labor Day. I have a Standard Pool View booked. What would be the best request to put in during on-line check in?

There are 2 Standard Pool view area's.
They are highlighted in green on this resort map:

Do you want ground floor, top floor or something in between?
Do you like the 50's era/theme, Lady and the Tramp? or the the 80's/90's era?
These are the options for a basic standard room:

I am not sure exactly what the options will be with a standard pool view since the standard pools are only in the 50's or the 80's/90's.
If you get the same options as above, make sure you don't check something that is not available for a standard pool room such as Lake View or Landscape view or 60's or 70's since there is no way they could assign you one of those rooms.

Personally I prefer 50's since I love Lady and the Tramp and if you get building 1 or 3, you are closer to Classic Hall. But there are many that love the 80's/90's pool since it is a little less crowded and from building 9 you can cut across the parking lot for a shortcut to the buses. It is really personal preference.

Good luck and enjoy your trip!
