Hey there!

We check-in on the 9th and have two rooms. We want to request a refurbished room and if possible connecting or adjacent rooms.

I'm trying to use the Touring Plans room request form, but it looks like I have to request specific rooms? Is there a map that tells me which rooms are Kings and which are Queens/Doubles and which ones are connecting?

I wanted to just make a blanket request because I don't really care WHICH room we're in, I just hope for a refurbished room and adjacent rooms.

From my past experience, I have clicked on a room that fits the category I have booked in the location that I want. Then I configure the fax to state exactly what I am looking for. The map in Touring plans does allow you to search by Kings and Queens/Doubles. Not sure if you can search connecting rooms. I have always put that in the text of my fax along with the reservation # on the reservation I want a connecting room with.

When you look at the details of each room it will specify on TP if it connecting (and if so with what room), bed size and more. I believe the connecting rooms are normally the ones closer to the elevators, at least in the area I was looking that was the case.

I made my reservations for Pop last Saturday and have not received a conformation after 6 days. I know the reservation went through because the deposit has been charged. Has anyone else had a problem getting a conformation? I have checked my spam and called to check the email on file.

Can you see the reservation in My Disney Experience?

If you can see the reservation in MDE, it went through. Disney emails can be inconsistent. I often do not get email confirmations of things I would consider pretty important, like a reservation confirmation. I've learned to take screenshots of anything important so that at least I have a record. I often call Disney to confirm when I don't receive an email. Sometimes I ask them to re-send the confirmation to me; sometimes that works, sometimes not, but at least I've gotten confirmation of what is showing up on their end.

Just switched from ASMo to POP for our trip at the end of the month. I found a passholder discount, plus I read that the refurbed rooms have queen beds (and look amazing). Fingers crossed for a new room, bigger beds will be wonderful for 3 adults. I haven't stayed at POP in 10 years so I need to do a bit of catch up. Can you still walk over to AoA? I'd love to take a look. Any "must know" tips?

Just curious how the wood floors are with noise- can you hear everyone walking around?
I think the floor is laminate that looks like wood. I can't hear people walking around. I think it is cleaner than carpet and allergy friendly, so I like it. It does seem to show everything. Being a little OCD, I find myself cleaning off the floor every day . . . Lol! Once in a while I can hear people walking by the room because the walls are a little thin, but it's not too often or too bad.

Yes, you can walk over to AoA. I would say if you call to request a refurbished room, you may have a better chance at getting one. That's what I did. Also, remember, if you walk through the parking lot behind the 80s or 90s, you can get to the buses and food court faster, depending on where your room is. The food court is crowded at prime times, like an hour before parks open and an hour after they close, as well as around 6:00. Pool view rooms aren't bad in the 80s and 90s because the computer pool hours are 12 to 8, and they aren't very crowded even during those hours, at lrast not at this time of year. I would always request a standard room. I think they are better than the preferred.

I don't have a list, but I am here now. I can look closer tomorrow and let you know, but I have been getting yogurts as snack credits for breakfast. There are lots of pastries and muffins, also, and fruit.
I checked today, and they have all of what I said earlier, plus Kelloggs cereal bars and dry cereal. The fruit is whole fruit and fresh cut fruit, as well. They have Green yogurt and also strawberry and blueberry yogurt parfaits.

When I stayed in a refurbished room in June I was constantly using a towel to clean the floor. I hate to feel dirt under my feet. Personally I really miss the carpet.

Thanks for the information! I have been wondering about the floor, especially the noise. I'm still not sure how I feel about the laminate floors. Hopefully I'll get to experience them myself in November!

Me, too. I brought baby wipes and was constantly using them to wipe up the floor, but the way I see it is it would be there with carpet, you just wouldn't see it and feel it. I'd rather see if and be able to clean it up and know it's really clean. That's just me, though!

Does the other 80s building, building 7, look like it's getting ready to open? Any report of what you notice about it would be great! Hope you have a magical trip and so happy you got a renovated room!!!
Last night two rooms had the curtains opened, and they looked ready to go. I saw another room with it looked like just a missing bed. They must be close to open because I don't see a lot of work going on. It seems like maybe they are just waiting on furniture for some of the rooms. I see a lot of work going on in one of the 70s buildings, but looks like the other 80s building should be done very soon.

Heard somewhere else the gift card for maid service might be back. Anybody there can you confirm or deny that?

no it's not currently available. Please see my response to this same question that you posted on another thread.
Just to update you, it was on the I'm so Disney site, and she was offered 50 for the length of her stay and checked in this morning, and she was staying at PoP. Was just wondering if it was a fluke or maybe something else they are trying out.

That does sound like it might be new! Can you please explain what you mean by 'on the Disney site' because I'm not aware of any chat boards that are directly on the Disney site. Maybe there is a new place I need to check out? :)
