Disney's POP CENTURY RESORT Information & Questions

First stay at POP in September - can't wait! We will be checking OUT on a Friday. Heard that there is a photo booth with silly props on Fridays. Anyone know if this still happens, and if so, what hours? PhotoPass photographers or selfies?

It is part of a special "promotion" called "Flashback Fridays" that has been held for several months now.

It "probably" will still be going on in September.

The description "sounds" like it is selfies.

There are no coffee makers in the rooms at Pop.

Officially, no. But guests do it all the time.

They are absolutely allowed. I bring a small Black & Decker one cup coffee maker. It's plastic, takes up very little room in my suitcase, and I make way better coffee than what you can get in the food court. I get Splenda from the food court, and order disposable coffee cups with lids from Prime Pantry. I got my coffee maker from Amazon (had it shipped direct to the resort).

The first part of this thread says small personal coffee makers are ok, but things like toasters and waffle irons are not.

If a person wants to use the pool after it closes, is that allowed or do they clear the area? Will the gate work if you want to swim later in the evening?
Just wondering if a person could take a midnight swim.

Gates are locked once pool is closed.

I will be checking into Pop Century in just 8 days. I just finished looking at the Pop Century Map. So far, I have only stayed in the 60's section, and the 70's section. The resort, is not small, but it isn't huge, the way the moderates are. If you study the map, no matter what section you are in, there is always a shortcut to the main building and the foodcourt, and the bus stop. I don't have a preference this time, as long as we get the connecting rooms that we asked for. Actually we have three rooms. We asked for two connecting, and the other nearby. We won't be getting there, until about 5 p.m., by the time we land, and get our rental car.

Thanks. I definitely plan on that. Which is one of the reasons I am secretly hoping for a room in a way different part of the resort this time.

Don't know if it has been mentioned here yet but the hard goods refurb for Pop has officially been scheduled from November 2016-February 2018.

Can you explain "hard goods"? Does this change the planned October refurbishments?

None in the rooms at this time,BUT there are indications they "may" be included in the hard goods refurb.

It basically means EVERYTHING in the room will be pulled out and replaced with all new items.
