Disney's POP CENTURY RESORT Information & Questions

Just booked! Staying March 3-7 at Pop for the first time and by myself. Sorry if this has been explained before, but I didn't want to go through the whole thread. Any suggestions for a first timer at the resort. I have stayed in many other places, but never Pop. Would like a mixture of proximity to bus stops and quietness...though I know those two things never go together at Disney. Any and all suggestions are welcome on location as well as resort activities for someone in their 20s, I am open to it all! :thumbsup2
I've stayed at POP for a number of solo trips and I usually request either 60s or 50s section, top floor, lake view. My fav is the 50s section but there is a chance that you might be placed in one of the further 50s blgs and have a longer walk to the bus. I find a quick 5-8 min walk is pretty good for either the 60s or 50s. Standard rooms (not preferred). My experience on property is that the preferred rooms near the pools have too much foot traffic and pool noise for me.

What number is it to fax room requests to the resort? And how early should I do it? We arrive at Pop on Sunday

Bus Boards-
we are here now at POP and there are no boards with next bus arrival time anywhere. Same type of boards we had at ASMovies the last 2 trips.

Thanks for the update. I was hoping they would be available for our Jan 28th trip, but it doesn't look like that will happen. Oh well, not really a huge deal.

Thanks for the advice. I put my request in today and went with top floor in the 50s. If I am granted either of those requests I will be a happy camper. Fingers crossed!

Doubt that...we faxed our request and got the room we asked for...

I did, too. Got what we wanted in 70's. I even gave a block of room numbers & was placed within my request. Our room looked out at the big wheel, Mickey phone and the foosball....nose was NEVER an issue. 3rd floor.

I think back in the first few posts in this thread you will find the number. Or look on wdwinfo.net as I think they have contact info for each resort.

For those who have faxed in requests, approximately when should you send it in, in reference to your trip arrival date? Also, is there a template I should use? Thanks!

There is a group that posted a template and I dint recall who it was. In general don't get carried away with the requests (maybe 2 max) and state which is priority to you. I sent mine in about 5 days before check in.

I joined touringplans and it was free for them to do it. Best $9 of the trip!

So your original "we faxed in" post was misleading. You were responding to people asking about the number to fax in themselves. Paying someone to do something is totally different than doing it on your own.

Anyone faxed ON THEIR OWN recently that had it work out?

Curious because I would really like my requests, and they are noted on the reservation, but not enough to pay $9.00 for a service where that is literally the ONLY aspect of it I'd use - I make my own schedule and don't see paying someone to do that for me either.

FYI for anyone staying at Pop the middle of February through the beginning of March. Just got an email about the Bowling Pin Pool in reference to my reservation. Apparently it will be closed from Feb 16th through to the end of the first week in March.

If your requests are noted on your reservation there is zero need to pay someone to reiterate them. I should have worded my earlier response differently. I should have said POR and POFQ are the only resorts that read all faxed requests. Other resorts MAY read some IF the room assigners get caught up and have time. But the vast majority get tossed without being read. I know this for a fact.

I just got it too - I guess not a huge deal but a bit disappointing.

I was going to request the 50s section but thought there might be noise with the pool refurb? So, for online check in, I put our requests for 60s and near transportation. Is that good? We have two little kids and a double stroller. We're using the busses.

We also used the TP fax and had success. We did call in our request too so it's hard to know if the fax made the difference. I would never buy the TP subscription just for the fax function but I think it's worth it for us to use their Lines app. We generally made our own schedule with advice from easywdw, the Disboards, and TP and found the Lines app to be very useful for adjusting that plan as needed.

Another great feature was that they really keep the operating hours updated on the app. When last minute changes were made for December, I had them clearly laid out for me on the Lines app so I could make adjustments. The travel agent calendar and easywdw calendar were never really completely updated for those last minute changes, and I found it a pain to have to click to each park for each day to try to figure out how entertainment and park hours had changed. I found the clearly articulated parks schedule on the Lines app to be a big bonus for us this year.

Is TP better than the Disney My Experience App regarding wait times, lines, park hrs ect?

We got the notice also. Disappointed, changed online check in to 60's and close to transportation - I hope that works.
