Resort Thread Disney's POLYNESIAN VILLAGE RESORT

Staying in the new tower in December and was wondering if they have freestyle machines? Also my sister is staying club level for one night. Is she able to bring guest over to check it out? Super excited to check out the new tower. We have a 2 bedroom Villa. Anything we should know about the new tower?
Yes, there are Freestyle machines outside of the Island Tower by the gym/splash pad.

A standard Polynesian club level room can hold up to five guests. If your sister has free spots in her room she can add guests incurring the nightly charge and then they can access the club level lounge. Outside of that, technically no. You cannot bring guests not listed on the room into Hawaii just to check out the lounge.

We're staying at the new tower over New Years but without a view. We've been there for both NYE and the 4th before and I'm assuming there will be wristbands again.
1. Are the early fireworks probably around 6:30pm? I have Kona reservations at 6:15 which I now think is a bad idea.
2. Can we watch the fireworks from the tower? I believe there are lounges but google did not help me find out much about them. Any suggestions on where to go and when to arrive (or if I'm just fooling myself).
Any other advice for our trip? We love the Poly and are excited to stay in the tower for the first time!

FYI, in the past the early show both 12/30 and 12/31 has been at 6:30pm, but they are on the calendar as 7:30pm this year. Depending on how fast you like to eat, it’s probably worth trying to bump up to an earlier time if you can.

Hi! Considering staying at the Poly for the first time EVER, May 2026. I’ve got a goal of staying at every resort at least once and I believe I have close to 20 resorts under my belt!
I see that “construction will continue into 2026” on the Disney website. When I was at Disney World last year, the main entrance was a mess, and traffic in and around the Poly was congested. How’s it looking now? We’d be staying club level, so that would be the Hawaii building I believe, and we want a resort/garden view (not theme park) so not sure if that comes into play re: the construction.
PS I did a search of “Polynesian Construction” searching thread titles only and thought I’d see tons of threads but not much recent info.
Thank you!

If you go back one page, in this thread, you will see the most recent pictures of the current construction.

Thank you! So would you say it’s only affecting the front of the resort?
I guess we can’t really speculate what will be happening May 2026. Hopefully someone will have an idea of a timeline for f work scheduled. Thanks again!

Yes, and involves the parking areas. Once the main entrance work is complete, and open then work will move / continue for the new dedicated bus loop area which is over by Rarotonga building, (closed) Lilo's Playhouse / Tangaroa terrace building, and Pago Pago DVC building.

From the Hawaii building you should not really be impacted while at the resort but you may see work or experience congestion when you are taking a bus, ride shares, and parking.

ETA: Still tying to type Rarotonga

New Guard House at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort Gets Exterior Paneling

The new guard house of Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort at Walt Disney World is now covered in themed exterior paneling.

The guard house is on Floridian Way, which will be the new roadway entrance to Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. Last time we reported on the building, crews were installing sheathing. It now has a reddish-brown roof, yellow walls, and dark brown trims. Glass has been installed in the windows.

There are white sections on the gables, maybe where future signage will be installed. The roadway around the guard house is also not yet complete.

The current Seven Seas Drive entrance to the resort will become a bus-only entrance. Construction at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort is scheduled to continue through 2026.

I know I’m probably aging myself here but… is it just me or is the guard shack giving off 1980’s Fotomat booth?! 😂🤣
