Resort Thread Disney's POLYNESIAN VILLAGE RESORT

Was it a dedicated Studio or did it have a connecting door to a 1 BR Villa? Did you leave your bags with the BS team in the Tower today?

Dave
It was connecting,

This from 7th is not. It is next to a 2 bedroom.

You may get this: the curtains open left to right. They only move enough to open one side of sliding door. The far right is secured and you can’t move right to left. There’s a 2 foot or so space on the left, I think they mounted the curtains wrong.

TPV and you can’t open em? Compared to all other resorts it is just backwards. Oh came back… it’s because the door opens on the left. Wasted space on left and door is blocked by curtain. Just odd.

The little side table near sofa was missing from 8110…. Have it here.

Also the tea spoons are the size of your normal hostess set serving spoon. It is huge! Things a regular notices😅😂

Yes this was noted in a couple of the Tower opening day videos but I think it is by design. Still not clear though to me on the real reason.

I thought the left side is where the built in desk was located, and the curtain would block part of it's access.

You mean the one that is somewhat shaped like one of the mirrors in the bathroom?

Dave

Are my going home day shower options the lava pool and the spa at gf?
I found you another shower option. There is a Shower Station right on the walkway by the new Hot Tub at the Island Tower Cove Pool. It is to the right of the Sign with the Cove Pool Spa rules and a Clock. Talk about a shower with a view.

🤣 8-)

Should I book a longhouse or tower room if my biggest concern is quiet? I don’t sleep well in my own bed, so on vacation, I seek out sound proof walls and peaceful accommodations!

If someone is at the POLY resort right now, would you be able to do me a favor and upload a pic of the Stitch loungefly backpack currently available, with price ? After returning from a recent trip my DW decides she should have purchased one, but can't remember the exact design that was available. Thanking you in advance to all who can help me out !! Blessings !!

Good question. The 1st floor tower room was loud! The upper floors were really quiet. In general my Resort View rooms are quiet.

I would book what you want and call and ask for a quiet room noted on reservation. Many areas are quiet but not all.

I’ve done most buildings and poly pool facing are probably the loudest IMO. The resort category doesn’t have boat noises so that helps.

For those of you who order food at tambu lounge- where do you eat it at and do they offer to go?

Can we eat some where inside at Poly if we got that and cooks to eat together? I’ve been to poly but don’t recall tables.

You can’t order food to go technically, you have to wait to be seated then order food (basically appetizers). If you have leftovers you can ask for a to go container. You eat at one of the small tables or hightops at Tambu Lounge.

Tambu is a small bar with not a ton of seating. PP is correct that they will give you to go containers but it’s intended to be a doggy bag situation, it’s really not meant to be somewhere you get food from to go. idk what you plan on ordering from there but it can get pretty slammed at the hours ‘Ohana is open for dinner service (which is the only time the ‘Ohana apps are available at Tambu, if that’s what you wanted). Sometimes you have to wait a bit to get a seat at the bar if the rest of the lounge seating is full.

If you’re not interested in the ‘Ohana apps specifically, Trader Sam’s has some really good ones too and iirc they serve them at the Tiki Terrace window outside. There’s way more seating out there. Personally I think if you wanted to supplement Capt. Cook’s food with lounge bites I would go with that instead. It would be a lot easier and tbh more fair than taking up limited bar seating to eat food from the quick service.

I stayed at the Poly Tower in a 1BR unit last week. Beautiful rooms but a potential issue for some with small children, the second lock on the slider is only about 5' up. Typically the child lock on sliders is higher on the door. More like 6+ feet. I think a small child will be able to reach the second lock on the slider in the Tower rooms.

Thoughts on water view room vs theme park view room? These are on the regular hotel side. We are going to be there July 3 and there is a water view available, we don't mind watching the fireworks from the beach either, but if booking water view...what are my chances of even getting a side view of the fireworks?! Meaning, theme park is almost double, I don't think my kids will care whether we see them from the balcony or the beach, but I just want to set my expectations. lol

Zero chance. Only water view rooms are located in Fiji and Samoa and neither of them face the lagoon. Water view side of Fiji faces the marina and both sides of Samoa face the pools (one side faces the Lava pool, the other faces the Oasis pool).

Honestly I would not pay the premium for TPV if you don't mind watching from the beach. July 3-4 Poly bars the beach to all but Poly resort guests and they give wristbands. It should be fine. I'm staying in the tower that weekend myself and only paid for the lake view because I booked a duo studio and the price wasn't too awful.

So are trip is paid in full- and I have not added dining plan. If I get a gift card now to have it “prepaid” on my end- when I check in- can they load the card to my account as a credit? I don’t want to use it during dining and parks- can they do that and have a credit on account?
