Resort Thread Disney's POLYNESIAN VILLAGE RESORT

Thanks- I checked again today and the room type I was looking for became available so I called and switched my reservation! Very happy.

Now hoping they offer late park tickets for magic kingdom in June.

We'll be staying in a Deluxe Studio in an upcoming visit for about a week (first time) and think that they'll offer housekeeping on the 4th day. If we'd like to have more housekeeping (say every 2nd day):
  1. Can we pay-up for that
  2. If so, how much would it be?
  3. If so, how do you arrange that?

How much time will you actually be in the room during the day time hours? After dark you can't see the construction area around Floridian Way. Plus you have 2 lovely Terrace Gardens that overlook the Seven Seas Lagoon.

Quite a lot, actually. Sitting on our balcony in the mornings/afternoons/evenings is part of the experience for us. We are not all day park people. Especially in the MK area - I love seeing the boats go by, hearing the horns, train from MK etc.

Are you staying on points or is this a cash reservation booked through WDW? If it's cash stay, you will get housekeeping everyday. If it's a points stay, it is my understanding they no longer offer the ability to pay for extra housekeeping, but someone more familiar with DVC will be able to answer that definitively.

For DVC stays on points, they do a partial cleaning on day 4 and a full clean on day 8. I have never stayed more than seven days so have not experienced the full clean. The partial is more of a light clean and a restock of supplies. They did empty our garbage every day though.

We bought/rented points to make the reservation. That would be a bummer if you couldn't buy up.

That seems pretty limited for Disney, but I guess that is what it is. I know just a few years ago you could pay for additional servicing. Do you know if that's still possible?

Yes it is limited unless you are staying on a Cash reservation but that's the way it is. Prior to COVID you could request a towel package for something like $35 and also pay for daily housekeeping but neither option has returned since COVID.

Hello. We have an upcoming stay in a Deluxe Studio - Resort View (not the new tower rooms) for a family of 5. In looking at these rooms on the Disney website, they indicate 1 King Bed and 1 Day Bed or 2 Queen Beds.

We would prefer the 2 Queen Bed option, but it doesn’t appear we can make that specific request. Is there a building or floor you would recommend to hopefully luck out with this room type?

Thanks!

Good News the Deluxe Studios don't have a King bed. Only a Queen, a Queen Murphy bed, and a fold down bed. It appears you were look at the description for the regular resort rooms.

Someone said you can just request towels by calling down or getting some from the pool. Does that seem right?

As other have said, yes you can! We did this twice during our stay a week ago. It was very easy to request kitchen supplies and linens through the Hey Disney device. No charge, though we did tip the staff who brought it to the room.

As others have said, you can call for additional towels and you can get them from the pool, too. The pool towels are a little different, they are thinner. I always grab one or two because I prefer them for my hair, since they aren't as thick as the regular bath towels, they are easier to wrap up my hair. I do try and return them to the towel return at the pool once I'm done using them since they are different from the in room towels.

How’s the lava pool doing capacity wise since the tower opened or still too early to say? We’re staying in DVC longhouse in mid-April for a week so just curious. Thanks.
