Help please!

My family is in a deluxe studio right now. These are the plugs in the nightstands/bedside tables:

The prong holes are covered by some very stubborn plastic sliders that we cannot get open for fear of breaking them. Are these meant to be opened if we try a little harder? Or are they permanent covers? It seems silly to have outlets there that cannot be used.

Thanks for any advice!

I didn't actually notice these when we were there, but these look the self closing safety covers we have in our own home. If so, they're not meant to be moved with your fingers, just slid out of the way by the prongs of the plug. Did you try to see if you could kind of shimmy a plug in at an angle?

Thank you! We tried again this morning and they worked so easily it was embarrassing, haha. We must have been too exhausted from traveling to figure it out. The plugs really are clever and I would not mind having them in our home.

We are staying in a studio and requested Tokelau though I can't be certain that's what we'll get at check-in. But can we expect that we'll have a real (37°) fridge and freezer or can request one? I'm trying to do a grocery order ahead of time and wondering what we can expect with respect to food preservation/safety.

We had a real fridge and freezer in Tokelau. We stored milk and cheese with no issue and the freezer froze water bottles solid. I think all the DVC longhouses have them.

We are in a Moorea studio right now. We have a regular fridge but without a freezer section. No problem keeping my half and half fresh for five days so far.

In the images that @Disturbia posted it looks like a real fridge with a separate freezer door, as opposed to the little freezer "shelf" that sometimes appears at the top of many mini fridges. Is that what we can expect at the Poly?

I think it varies. What we had in Tokelau did have a separate freezer door and it was a real freezer that froze water bottles solid in a few hours. It was larger than the mini fridge I had in college back in the day too! But I’ve seen in other room pics, it’s the shelf in a mini fridge.

I just wish I knew ahead of time but without a room assignment there's no chance of that. But maybe at check-in we can find out. It sounds like other posters were suggesting that you could request a fridge swap but I don't know how honorable that request is.

Yeah I find it frustrating too! I made my instacart order assuming I would not have a freezer just in case. You could wait to place a grocery order until you get there. There are some options for same day delivery and then you would know if you could buy stuff that needs to be frozen.

Unfortunately it looks like it’s a hit or miss is you are going to end up with a fridge with a freezer section. I remember Dec 2022 we stayed Tokelau and didn’t have a freezer but last year (same building) we did.

We take a soft sided beer cooler which you can fill with ice and put it in the fridge for temporary freezing something (like allergy friendly fish sticks (double bagged in a large ziplock) in our case).

Are the "beverage coolers" in DVC studios really small fridges just without a freezer or do they only cool to 41 like the other resorts with beverage coolers?

Thanks for that info!
Just wanted to follow up on this from a week ago.

Stayed in Moorea. Got to room and fridge was warm so called for a new one and requested one with a freezer on top and they told me the Poly does not have them. I told them I knew that other rooms/buildings in the Poly definitely do and they really did not have a response. They ended up brings a new mini fridge that worked fine for us.

So did your mini fridge have any sort of freezer compartment, or was it a fridge only?

Are the Tower Murphy bed mattresses as comfortable as other Murphy beds on property (bungalow studios, Riviera, etc)? I've come across a few duo studio reviews that have said the mattress was not comfortable, but I don't know if that's because the reviewers aren't experienced with Murphy beds or if the Tower mattresses are actually different. Thank you!

Well they are the same Murphy beds made by the same company as the Rivera, Poly deluxe Studios, and many other resorts at WDW.

The company is Inovabed and they have images of the Island Tower beds at this link https://inovabed.com/blogs/news/dis...eations-at-disney-s-polynesian-village-resort

Hi, all. Sorry if this has already been answered, but is it confirmed that the Poly Hotel guests have access to the Island Tower pool and fitness center? Thanks much.

Suggestions please.
We are party of 3, and have stayed at poly resort.
Looking at june- for 2 nights. Planning on swimming - 1 park day. The cheapest rate is a studio- then tower- then resort view at the hotel.
We love the hotel- where is the deluxe studio located and is the tower like bay lake- a different part of area. Looking to be near hotel and monorail entrance. Worried tower will be further away.
