Resort Thread Disney's POLYNESIAN VILLAGE RESORT

It’s like they decided last minute to refurbish everything at once 😂😫
Huh, they opened the new Moana Splash Pad over at the Island Tower. While it is not as expansive as Kiki's Tiki water playground it is an option.

I’m only kidding, but there just seems to be a lot of refurbishments going on all around once (stormalong bay, courtyard pool at GF, now the splash pad) - doesn’t make a big difference to me though.

This is a very popular time to close water based offerings. It can be quit cool in Orlando this time of year. And you missed one: From January 26, 2026 to early May 2026, the Bay Cove Pool, the water play area and the whirlpool spa at Bay Lake Tower.

The longer shutdown at SAB is directly reflated to it's massive size and how long it has been since it's last refurbishment. It is long overdue.

Yes, I know they usually do refurbishments on water rides/pools this time of year - we’re so busy at the parks be barely have time for pools honestly. We did pick the Polynesian tower over Yacht Club and the pool closure was one of the reasons though.

For single pull down bed under TV, is it long enough for an adult, say 5 feet 8 inches?
My daughter is 5”8’ and fit on it but like the other person mentioned- bumped her head twice. So she got mad and took the mattress and put it on the floor. It is not twin size. It is slightly smaller

We are arriving next week at Island Tower and will be booking Mears connect from MCO. Do I just book it to be dropped off at Poly and we walk to Island Tower from there?

So if you have your car can you park at the Tower and check in their lobby?
Yes, as long as you have your MB to open the gate to get into the parking lot. There's no security guard at the gate to open it for you.

So if you don’t already have a magic band than you would have to go to GCH I order to check in and receive a card. I have friends who are arriving last week of Feb. they have purchased MBs from Disney store but their children would be arriving in a separate car without MBs.

Booked in resort view for our first Poly stay in August. I thought all rooms had a daybed, but now I am questioning myself. I only see it listed on the water and theme park view rooms. We will only have 4 adults, but one is my daughter's boyfriend so we really want that extra bed. Any suggestions for specific room requests, and do I need to include a request for daybed?

Are you staying on the resort side or DVC? Not entirely sure if it matters but we stayed on the dvc side and did have the fifth sleeper in our standard resort view room and I think all the rooms had them. I thought that was also the case on the resort side but someone can correct me if not. But, just so you know, it’s smaller than a twin, thin and not very comfortable for an adult, IMHO. I think it’s best for a kid or at least a fairly petite adult.

All of the regular resort rooms sleep up to 5 adults including a day bed. The couch folds to convert to a single bed. @pixiedust33 asked if you booked a regular resort room or DVC room.

Thank you! I was hoping that was the case. We did Boardwalk with him last year and had the daybed and while it wasn't super comfy we made it work. I slept on it since he's tall, and it worked fine for me. Was hoping it's similar here. We are in a regular resort view room. Not a studio or villa. So any room requests based on that are helpful!
