Resort Thread Disney's POLYNESIAN VILLAGE RESORT

Don’t go by anything he says is what I’m saying. Quincy from All Ears is a much better source of info on resort rooms on YT and confirmed those murphy beds are the exact same as have gone in all the recent DVC studios and are as comfortable as the standard beds.
Just to add to the comments from @kylenne. The Murphy beds are from Inovabed and not just the Island Tower but the ones in the other Poly Villas, Rivera, and the other new and refurbished DVC units. And yes this even includes the new Ft. Wilderness DVC Cabins.

I don’t even watch them out of bile fascination anymore, but back when I did, I liked to play a game where I counted every time dude got a very basic, easy to check fact wrong in a video. If it was a drinking game I’d have gotten alcohol poisoning.

I watch Paging Mr Morrow, Mammoth Club (started watching Molly when she was part of allears), Dfbguide, All ears (love the vs videos to gain perspective on time saved), Kyle Pallo and sometimes Jojo in addition to the Trackers. I like the energy of the Binghams (this is how we Bingham) and how they manage traveling with multiple kids (packing cubes have been a game changer esp with lack of drawers/storage in the longhouses at poly). They all bring something different to the table.

DH did say the pull down queen bed in the longhouse was comfortable and he slept well and it didn’t have any partition that bothered him.

The single pull down bed under the TV was not great for a light sleeper (myself). Teen is getting that one on our next visit.

Does anyone know if the hot tubs are open? I went by the Oasis pool last night at 7 hoping to get a soak in, but it was closed. :(

For single pull down bed under TV, is it long enough for an adult, say 5 feet 8 inches?

You are at the actual resort did you maybe consider asking at the Front desk.? There is also a Hot tub at the Lava pool, and one at the Island Tower. It was quite cool last night.

We stayed at the Island Tower during the NYE. We got a perfect 1-BR villa with a great view of the lagoon, we could see both the castle and Spaceship Earth from that balcony. And we left the curtain open at night and just watched the castle, Tron, and Space Mountain from our bed. It was room 8658, right next to the upper part of the terrace, and above Wailulu. We watched both NYE fireworks from the balcony, and also Happily Ever After on the 2nd. This is now my favorite spot to watch the firework. We can hear the music and everything because the speakers were just right there several floors below us.

For those that were at Poly after the holidays, can you please share what day the Christmas tree & decorations came down? Thank you!

I know there is no complete front desk at the Tower, but I've read that there are CMs with tablets who can help with things. Can they check that a MagicBand+ is linked or would I need to go to the GCH for that? (I've had issues in the past with them unlinking for no "normal" reason - I don't have a zillion on my account and they were purchased through the WDW site - so I like to just get it checked before heading to my room.)

Also, does Mears drop you off and pick you up at the GCH or the Tower? If the Tower, is there luggage storage there?

We don't know yet what the CMs are able to do on their tablets.

It is my understanding that you need a MB or RF Card to enter directly at the Island Tower entrance to access the Portico . On the luggage topic there was 1 report that Bell Services has storage space in the Tower as well as at the GCH.

Also, the deluxe villas in the longhouses (we paid $1000 a night) have Scott brand toilet paper.

Yes, the iPad CMs are basically the same as the front desk. They have iPads and little scanner devices to check bands. They volunteered to check ours to make sure everything was working.

I can confirm that there is luggage storage space there at the tower. There is no bell service desk, but the bell service CMs are standing around the lobby along with the iPad CMs. When we arrived, we left our luggages with them and went to the park. When we came back that evening, we called the bell service from our room, and I believe the call went to the bell desk at the GCH. Because the CM on the phone asked us whether we left our luggages at the GCH or at the tower, so that they can easily and quickly locate our luggages.

When we checked out, we also left it with the bell around 11am and went to Magic Kingdom. When we came back around 5pm, we went to the bell CM at the tower lobby and she just went back into the storage area and wheeled the cart out for us.
