Resort Thread Disney's POLYNESIAN VILLAGE RESORT

Can we talk about how close the kitchen is to the bed in the Duo Studios? Who approved this? 😂

We had a similar setup at Four Seasons. It was not as bad as we thought it would be but there was ample storage so we didn’t need that space for anything else. By the time we got to making coffee the younger kids were already up so no real disturbance.

I do prefer not having this setup esp. at the Poly where the storage is lacking and you need to fit suitcases and strollers.

Unreal that Disney is so upside down from a management perspective right now that they can't upload the correct images for their $700/night Hilton-esque tower hotel rooms.
It has nothing to do with Management. Just a remote web developer that got the images mixed up in the last minute Cloud update to the Image content last night. Really just a Quality Failure.

The images for the Atrium and Tower CL rooms have been wrong for a number of years and the descriptions have also been wrong for a number of years. This year 2024 they actually made references to the correct CL lounge generic vs trying to keep Atrium Club & Tower Club references correct.

It starts at the top with high-level management. Quality Control issues happen when oversight (management) overlooks these things. But I digress.

Also, on the Disneyworld website list of Island Tower rooms, they had Standard, Preferred, and Theme Park View listings for Duo Studios, Deluxe Studios, and 1 Bedroom Villas, as well as Preferred and Theme Park View listings for the 2 Bedroom Penthouses, BUT for the regular 2 Bedroom Villas they ONLY list Theme Park View.

I can only conclude that they are not going to do cash bookings for 2 bedroom lock-offs, keeping them as a deluxe studio and a 1 bedroom, which I am sure will maximize the revenue.

More importantly, this may indicate that all of the dedicated 2 bedroom villas are Theme Park View.

For those of us who love the dedicated 2 bedroom villas in DVC resorts, this could be a deciding factor in purchase decisions.

It could also be a Disney IT glitch, as well... just thought it should be mentioned.
.

Pretty narrow building, especially the middle part. Seems to me the road side could easily be stacked with many of the Duos, in my highly skilled (lol!) construction opinion.

Someone at Disney messed up because you can see basically the exact same image under Tower Deluxe studios on the same page:

I had to do a double take because I thought maybe Disney messed up the Parks Blog post rather than the WDW website since the duo studio on the post's artist rendering looks more like the 1-bedroom living room. There are minor differences like the chaise being swapped with a regular couch/ottoman, dresser under the TV rather than a murphy bed which is required in the 1-bedroom to sleep 5, and an area rug.

With a layout like the Parks Blog post I think the duo studios with theme park views will be a huge hit!

I had not really paid any attention to the Disneyland DVC. Here are pix and floor plan of their duo studios. It is possible the kitchen area will face the sliding balcony doors but it’s nice that the small room for 2 appears to have that area. If it has the dresser shown in above poly duo studio and has a kitchen area it will be nice for storage.

Referencing the first floor layouts found from the... I think water plans in this post (https://www.disboards.com/threads/the-poly2-pricing-thread.3875905/post-65058892) it looks like there is some storage and/or fixture by the door in what is believed to be the Poly Duo vs the DLH Duo? :scratchin

You know that bathroom is smaller so it’s possible the small kitchenette a duo would have would be on back wall of bathroom sink?

Then again doesn’t look like room for a bed?

Probably like DLH except tv is over a dresser and maybe a small counter with coffee, fridge to the side of the closet/in the hallway?

Nope there looks to be a wall or closet next to the dresser. Hmmm

I think they put the kitchenette in the duo in the same spot as deluxe studio. It will just maybe be smaller? Closet will be next to dresser on opposite wall. That’s my guess.

Sorry , I just get crazy when I can’t see a floor plan. How hard is it to release? 😅😂

I'm not a huge WDW pool person, but wow that pool is small!
