yes. this is from when we did it a few years ago pre covid, there is also a comfy lounge but I was sitting it in when I took this picture . There is a ceiling fan up top. They provide snacks and drinks now as well .

Hi all trying to play our end of September 2024 holiday and I'm batting between the Poly and Carribbean beach.
We have previously been at the Poly and loved it however, I'm afraid that when the new dvc tower will go live in 2024 it will bring even more crowds to an already crowded resort and especially to the pool (I know they will have their own but....)
What are your thoughts? We will be there for 15 nights.

With 15 nights I would definitely do a split stay. Perhaps CBR or another resort for the first half and end at Poly. We have been able to enjoy many different resorts by using split stays but I always end at the Poly.

With due respect to CBR as it’s a lovely resort, it’s just a heck of a lot different than Poly. The rooms also are in need of a refresh (IMO) and I’m not sure what the latest is with anything being done there, but something to watch.

Note the DVC tower opens “late 2024” - so late may include Sept 2024 or it may not.

While I personally eyeroll a bit at the project, I am ultimately excited for new offerings and amenities, particularly an additional pool.

Thank you. We wouldn't do split stays as have children and I find it too much hassle.

With due respect to CBR as it’s a lovely resort, it’s just a heck of a lot different than Poly.

Do you think that we will feel like we are having a lesser holiday and be disappointed? CBR rooms are being refurbished now.
I thought that CBR could give us the same holiday vibe we love at the Poly but with lesser crowds and at a cheaper price.

Having stayed at both, we loved CBR when our oldest DGS was little, but now our hearts belong to Poly. Although both pools (CBR and Poly) are not dissimilar (both are great pools) we love having a balcony we can hang out on, the beach (no swimming, of course) the kids and adult activities, and the shopping and DOLE WHIP stand. Also for the adults Trader Joe's! The food choices are dramatically better at Poly as is the shopping. If you are early am to pm park warriors then CBR would be great, but if you want to spend any resort time not at the pool, my vote is for Poly.

I just booked a patio cabana rental for one day but don’t see it in MDE nor do I have any email confirmation. Am I supposed to? Also…is it worth it? Going to keep it no matter what to make that a resort day but what’s the general consensus.

I love the patios and definitely think it is worth it
They typically give you a confirmation number and you can add a note in MDE and place your confirmation number there. This is what we usually do. However when I booked a few weeks ago, the CM added the info for me with the confirmation numbers but that has not been the norm for us. Hope you enjoy it!

They typically give you a confirmation number and you can add a note in MDE and place your confirmation number there. This is what we usually do. However when I booked a few weeks ago, the CM added the info for me with the confirmation numbers but that has not been the norm for us. Hope you enjoy it!

Called back to see if I could get that instead and they said it wasn't available but I wasn't sure they were all too knowledgeable about the difference between the two. Do you or anyone know if the lava pool one is reserved the same way as the other three? They didn't say it was booked just that the system kept recommending other cabanas at other resorts so they assumed.

I’m sorry I’m not sure. I would call again and try. I thought someone had booked it online before but I could be mistaken.

Anyone have an idea when turndown service will be returning? I loved at the grand Californian being able to call at 6 pm before heading back to the park and having my bed re-made when I got back

We are huge Duffy and Friends fans. I was there last week. They only had Olu merchandise at Boutiki.
