Resort Thread Disney's POLYNESIAN VILLAGE RESORT

I don't like the exterior or the lobby but I am pretty happy with those rooms. Themed nice and feels poly. Wish it had a tad bit more disney things in it but its DVC tower so not surprised. Pretty nice, although the deluxe studio seems a little small right if you put that bed down? Wonder what the SF is

I also find it ironic with the TV picture they have when you can't even get that channel anymore ( couldn't find it my last trip )

Edit: Didn't realize there was a video. Is there only one sink and faucet in the deluxe studios?? Not a double
DVC deluxe studios usually only have one sink in the bathroom because they have a second sink with the kitchenette. VGF resort studios are an exception since they are cash hotel room clones.

I like the calm vibe of the new rooms. Definitely tones down the PVB longhouse deluxe studio theme. The one thing I noticed in the images and video was that I didn't see any type of tub in deluxe studio bathroom. The room honestly seems like it has the same floor plan as the DLH deluxe studio besides removing the tub and including a half dishwasher. I think that could be hard for families with young children. They will probably favor the split bath setup with tub of the longhouse studio.

Yeah I think I expected two sinks since the deluxe studios at the Poly have 2 sinks but I get it. I feel it’s more the size of a copper creek deluxe studio let’s say instead of the original ( since the original poly studios are pretty big )

  • Duo Studio Standard View: $696.94 per night
  • Duo Studio Theme Park View: $1,159.88 per night
  • Deluxe Studio Theme Park View: $1,271.54 per night
  • 1-Bedroom Standard View: $1,346.63 per night
  • 2-Bedroom Penthouse: $5,024.25 per night
This might be easier...

I would do the cheapest and watch fireworks from the resort. I usually DO book TPV but rack rate is just too much at this time. I got the 2 bedroom TPV at BLT on a holiday weekend for the price of the 1 bedroom standard listed above for example of pricing.

Just curious what date that is?

Adding to this data point, here was what I was quoted for opening day for a two night stay (Dec 17-18th) for a Deluxe studio (not DVC and no AP discounts):
  • Resort view: $2477.26 ($1238.63 / night)
  • Preferred view*: $3010.15 ($1505.08 / night)
  • Theme park view: $3390.76 ($1695.38 / night)
*CM let me know, unprompted, she has no idea what the difference was between a TPV and a preferred view 🤣

Looks like I am unable to change the reservation online to another Poly Tower room category after it was made and look at room info / pricing, so all by phone for now I guess.

@Amy Krieger on DVCFan said the they were told that PV view would views of the pool and Golf Course. So I assume the higher floors on the front side of the hotel facing Shades of Green and to the side facing the GCH and pool area. SV is probably mostly parking lot views 🤷🏼‍♀️

Thank you!

Actually in fairness I was playing Magnolia awhile back and was admiring how many holes have a great view towards the tower, and those rooms will - eventually once the roadwork and course modifications are completed - have really nice views back towards the golf course and SOG. Not going to be all that pretty at first though.

Does anyone know when booking opens tomorrow (June 6) for regular guests? Is it midnight, 6am, other?

Based on the Disney Parks blog post about the Poly Tower opening, it looks like online reservations are available for everyone tomorrow, not sure what time.

I called the reservations line (7639) at 9AM this morning so you can try the number then if the website greets you with the Space Mountain wheel of death.

Data points! Data points for days!

I had family members enquire about different price points for room categories so I called again to get more pricing information.

It looks like when I called, they were completely sold out of the preferred and theme park pricing for Duo room layouts on opening day Dec 17th, as well as the next day on the 18th. The only room type available for a Duo layout on either the 17th or 18th was a standard view at $929.25 (this is the pro-rated price for a two day stay on Dec 17-18th, total cost: $1858.50. I did not ask about Dec 17th only pricing, just the availability).

For 1BR for a two day stay on Dec 17-18th:
  • Standard: $3591.00 ($1795.50 / night)
  • Preferred: $3980.26 ($1990.13 / night)
  • Theme Park: $4484.26 ($ 2242.13 / night)

CM over the phone would not give me a hard time but she said it could open earlier than when they take phone reservations at 7am at the 7639 number so I would try the website in the morning and if no luck give them a call at 7 on the dot.

I think reservations are available online starting tomorrow which was why I was wondering if access may start early.
