If anyone has any input on using the Poly pools as to best times of the day for lower crowds, please advise. Really hoped they’d be reasonable with only DVC rooms open. Sounds like they’re pretty crowded. Staying Sunday the 16th-20th.

We had days LAST summer I’d rank as relatively crowded, so I’m not entirely surprised at some reports. The Lava Pool, unfortunately, is too small to begin with... take out however many number of chairs given distancing, it’s quickly going to be a pinch point.

But I think the same trends pre-COVID still apply now. First thing is good, later in the afternoon/early evening is good as people head in for dinner and what not.

The pending summer storm season is sometimes a good thing as they also serve to break up the pool crowd as well.

Weekends always seem to be more crowded than weekdays, generally speaking.

whats special about the 19th? regular rooms open?

Yep. Regular rooms available. And no contact to my TA that they have to move me - plus they are still selling them. With the summer's limited availability, I doubt they would be selling them if they really thought they were not going to have them done. At least the 3 buildings on the non-DVC side. They have already had CM walkthrough previews, so I am pretty confident that at least 3 buildings will be opening on schedule. (Also, if things were not on schedule, I seriously doubt we would have seen them take the Contemporary Tower out of commission.)

Poolside anything right now is only full days. Full day is 10a - 7p. Pricing is seasonal, it depends on when you’re going. But they’re a lot less expensive than cabanas at the other Deluxes. I paid around $75 a couple of years ago for a full day in mid-late Oct.
Thank you!

There is a Pool/Marina View available 7/19-24. As much as I would LOVE to stay at the Poly, when I can save $1174.50 staying in a Riviera Studio (and I'd pondered Riviera for a bit), I can't pass that up. Especially with hopes of getting on the Wish next summer.

Does anyone know the best internet location at the Poly for trying to get a Rise boarding group? Was thinking of going to the ceremonial house.

Did it on Disney WiFi from our room at Pago Pago and got it both times. Run an internet speed check 10 minutes before 7am on and off WiFi. On tested 3 times faster so went with it.

Oh no! We were supposed to be opening day buddies! That’s a great savings on the Riviera though. I know you’ll have a great time!

So, stayed at the Contemporary last week and while nice (especially the walk to MK), it just didn’t have the charm of the Poly. We stayed Poly on our July and November 2020 trips. I’m officially Poly for life! 😂
I know, right? Although I wasn't a fan of Pop before our most recent stay last July I also like Pop now but Poly is still #1 for me. Absolutely going to stay there next trip! It just feels so relaxing.

Yeah, I debated and debated, but ultimately I know I really want to be on the Wish for my birthday next year AND keep my Feb MDAS cruise if at all possible, so having the extra money on hand to boost a deposit if necessary is a bonus. I'd been back and forth between the Poly and the Riviera for a while. I know you'll have a great time too!!

We stayed at Riveria last October and LOVED it. I highly recommend their quick service food. Everything we ate was delicious! Pools and ambience was fabulous and an easy walk to the skyliner. We are going with Poly our next trip, Riveria was not available. I probably would have done a split stay. 😍

We are planning a stay at the Poly July 7-14. I am not so secretly hoping for a soft opening of 'Ohana and the monorail but know that probably won't happen. Either way we are excited for our first stay here which also happens to be our "Welcome Home" stay.

We’re there June 26 to July 3rd. Same here
