I have never stayed here, but excited to say we will be staying in June for two nights. We are staying in a studio. Trying to figure out our way around will be 😊 I have only stopped at the lobby before.

You'll check in at Pago Pago, which is one of the 3 studio buildings. They're all on the same side of the resort.

Has there been any word/pictures of the soft goods refurb for the studios? Semi-contemplating changing to a studio for July...but probably not - just being silly with how good the thai coconut meatballs and rice were heated up in the studio microwave for breakfast in February. I'll miss having a microwave option, but definitely excited for the new rooms!

No. DVC has not released any info on the upcoming refurb of the studios. But that is normal for DVC refurbs.

Thanks! I figured we hadn't heard/seen anything yet or it would be on here.

Any idea when we will be able to start booking at Poly for December?

You can now. If it's not showing up, it's likely not available for all of your dates.

Edit: For December 2021 that is.

I'm also sitting here dealing with the jealousy over short times until trips! We just booked our first Poly stay. We're the type who like to walk a LOT, so we had been putting off doing an MK area hotel until the walkway from GF was complete. Now that it is we are VERY MUCH looking forward to staying at the place my husband saw on our first trip and said, "I want to stay THERE."

Any one know if we can venture near the area of the Luau? I remember seeing a neat area where there is a banyon tree that we wanted to check out.

Not the regular rooms.

They were only added on the DVC side because DVC has some "must have patio/balcony" thing.

Just FYI, second floor balconies were not “added” to the DVC longhouses. Those three longhouses were built after the original Poly resort longhouses and included second floor balconies when they were built.

Ah, thanks for correcting me. I had been misinformed. I didn't know there were ever regular second floor rooms with balconies.

This is looking good. I like the concept art of the updated entry, but I haven't seen if they are going to put the water features back at the front door. I really liked the foliage and ponds at the entrance under the monorail station and I hope they return.

I hope so too. It was such a tranquil welcome to the resort stepping off DME to those ponds and the torches.

113 days for me, first time in the Poly and first time renting DVC points! I'm so excited, and I love seeing the construction documented. I've been in the old lobby and the shops before only. Does anyone know if the Gelatoni cat keychains of him with swim shorts are still in the shop? He's one of my favorite characters, I was excited to see some merchandise.
Thank you Dave006 for the information a few pages back on DME, it will be nice to have a "goodbye" ride on there (even though we won't be riding it back to the airport).

Fyi for this thread, just got back from Poly on Saturday. Stayed 4/1-4/10. The splash pad was still down/closed the entire time. A lifeguard told me on 4/2 she thought it was going to be open by/on Easter that Sunday, but the whole week came and went with it being closed. Construction on the monorail didnt really affect us. They have some partition walls here and there that are a little annoying in that they force you to walk other places, but overall not bad. Will be so much nicer when the monorail is back at the Poly and fully running to MK and Epcot. We usually took the bus to/from the MK because the monorail at the TTC dumps you all in with the the general population coming to MK for the day so the crowd was a little on the high side. Buses in general were pretty good and increased it seemed to MK, but buses to AK and HS were spotty it seemed. There were two mornings where literally 4 MK busses rolled by before a bus to HS came. Not entirely Poly related, but the Disney mask-police were really in full effect our entire trip. I know that's a sensitive topic and some people would say that's great, and others would say that's not so great. From our perspective, it was overboard and not grounded in commonsense. We saw a calm dad waiting next to us about to board Tower with his family and his one daughter (probably) 8 had her mask down because she was crying and he was explaining to the Tower cast member she has asthma and she was just trying to catch her breath. The Tower guy in my mind could have showed some commonsense and compassion but instead he repeatedly barked about Policy. I would not have been as patient as the father I saw remain calm during the process. Anyway, I digress. The Poly is always great and was this time, but just know its not at its prime with Covid/construction. Kind of amazing Disney has no problem charging full boat there right now, but we paid it so I guess there's a market. I didn't feel like we got good value but we were itching to travel with our family again after spring break '20 was cancelled. Aloha!
