Anyone who has been to the Poly recently recall the cost of beer and wine? Would like some for our room in the evening and trying to weigh the pros and cons of buying it there or doing grocery delivery based on onvenience and cost effectiveness.
We check in on Tuesday and I just ordered through Safeway. They have a 1 hour delivery window and $20 off your first order. The prices were normal prices vs. inflated at the resort.

I think this time we might love a late dinner in our pjs, watching Mickey cartoons!! Like being cozy at home in the happiest place on earth!!:tinker::dumbo:

That sounds like a great way to spend a relaxing evening :goodvibes.

I booked 5 nights at Poly in a studio for my 60th birthday next summer. So excited! Last night will be July 3, want to see those July 4 fireworks from the beach.

I can't think of a better way to spend a birthday! Enjoy the planning :wizard:.

We will be at the Poly tomorrow about noon ! I requested Samoa. May not get it but I thought oh well why not try.

Hope you're having a great time! :yay:

We check in on Tuesday

Have a great trip! :jumping1:

We'll be at the Poly ~ 7:30am on Sunday! I also requested Samoa (#1) and Fiji (#2).

Have a great time! :banana::banana:

Yes, true. I don't technically know how you describe pools that use this system.... "salt water" is a bit of an overstatement because it's not like being in the ocean. But the water does have a saline taste to it. Love it BTW, so much easier on the eyes, skin, hair, etc.

My mom has a saltwater pool. I don't quite know all the specifics, but basically salt is added to the pool which creates a natural chlorine instead of adding a lot of harsh chemicals.

I used the touring plans room request fax system. But I forgot to do the room request thing through MDE. We check in tomorrow. Am I too late or will the touring plan fax be enough? Can't wait to get there! Fingers crossed for Samoa ground floor!

Well we did not get Samoa like we requested. Oh well we did get Rarotonga 3rd floor. It is not a bad location .

Transportation question...we have a 805 breakfast at garden grill in Epcot. The Epcot monorail is running at 730 for that day. Should be plenty of time to get there/through security if we walk over to TTC for the first train yes?

Yeah, should be but not much room for error. Note you do go through security twice.... once as you enter the TTC, then again at Epcot. It's an unfortunate setup as the Epcot monorail exit dumps you outside the secured perimeter in that particular area. But, you're only talking about adding a minor amount of time.

I would make it a point to be at the platform for that very first 7:30AM monorail to Epcot. YMMV but when I've done Epcot PPO breakfasts, they let you in 7:45-7:55ish.

If the above makes you nervous, I'd also suggest taxi or uber/lyft if that is an option for you.

How do I post a photo from photo bucket? I have tried to copy and paste all that was there but none would work

Touring Plans tells you not to do the MDE. I've had great luck with them.

OK. Question.

What's the best drink at the Barefoot Pool Bar?

We're actually doing a split stay, with one night in ASMo (it cost us $29 to go down one night before we'd planned and stay there), and then to the Poly. Our first day (8/24), we're planning on hitting Disney Springs and sitting by the pool after until our Kona reservation at 6:30 (and then maybe BACK to the pool, if the weather holds). My wife wanted one day of just sitting on our butts by a pool with a good book.

Photobucket has disabled third party photo sharing unless you pay an unreasonable sum of money--I think it was $300 per year. Your best bet is to upload directly from your computer. I have years of photos on Photobucket that I have posted in the various forums. Now rather than photos all you see is a black box that indicates third party sharing isn't permitted. :(

Did you go thru Touring Plans.
Yes I did and also added a request on my reservation. I did not get Samoa. I think they are already using the pool view category. I told them I had requested Samoa 3rd floor and he said oh that is not standard view. He did call and see if there were any rooms available in Samos and there were not.

I was there about a month ago - requested Samoa or Raratonga - used Touring Plans and put a request on my reservation and I received Fiji - facing the Spirit of Aloha. I didn't love that location. I know a lot of people do, but I felt like I was in the suburbs of the resort. LOL And we were there for 10 nights. I am kind of happy they are using new room categories. At least you know what you are getting. But I think I read $100.00 more for a pool view room? I think that is excessive - maybe for a view of the Magic Kingdom, but the pool? Are all the resorts that big of a jump for pool view?

What's the best drink at the Barefoot Pool Bar?

Anything that Steve is making. :goodvibes:goodvibes:goodvibes One of the best bartenders on property.

But in terms of drinks... Steve makes a mean Rum Runner and I like the "classic" Mai Thai, which is I think is slightly different than the Mai Thai that's on the menu. I'm not a huge fan of Disney's somewhat standardized pool bar drink menu, so I tend to like to ask the bartender for any recommendations, favorite off menu drinks, etc. That can be fun at Poly given the Tiki influence/ingredients on hand.

Have fun!

Your question has been answered, but I wanted to say I hope you have a great trip and enjoy the Poly :wizard:.

I'm sorry you didn't get your request, but aside from that, I hope you are having a good time at the Poly :).
