Just wasting time again...

Do you think if we request Samoa with an Oasis pool view that there is a better chance than if we requested a volcano pool view? Or is Samoa pretty much a lost cause?
I would like to view the Oasis pool, any other buildings with standard views of the Oasis pool?

(I realize view categories will change, but they haven't yet!) - Oh, I just read they are already telling people Samoa isn't a standard view. :( How can they do that already when it hasn't started yet for booking?

Okay, played with my TouringPlans room request - I stayed with what (I think) will be a standard building. Rarotonga, North facing - you can see a bit of Oasis pool.

thanks!

OK. Question.

What's the best drink at the Barefoot Pool Bar?

We're actually doing a split stay, with one night in ASMo (it cost us $29 to go down one night before we'd planned and stay there), and then to the Poly. Our first day (8/24), we're planning on hitting Disney Springs and sitting by the pool after until our Kona reservation at 6:30 (and then maybe BACK to the pool, if the weather holds). My wife wanted one day of just sitting on our butts by a pool with a good book.

Black cherry lemonade!

One more quick question.

Anyone know what kind of detergent is for sale in the laundry room? We're going for 11 days and may need to do some laundry.

I don't know the answer, however I buy the pods of laundry soap and bring it with me. Usually when it's on sale- much cheaper. And packs easily in suitcase.

It's single use powdered laundry detergent.. I think I remember the box being very generic, it may have just said " laundry detergent" lol, so I couldn't tell you the brand.

Agree with the PP. In the past it has been a no-name single box of powder detergent. If it is a name brand, it's an extremely basic one that I didn't recognize, I'm pretty sure.

I requested Samoa and when I got here they told me it wasn't a standard room. They did check to see if there were any rooms available in Samoa though and there were not any.

Kids club activities during the day?
Is that something we can do to kill time while we wait for our room to be ready? We arrive fairly early. The activity schedule says there are crafts. Is there an extra cost? I think my kids would enjoy that it would help my little one warm up to the area because we booked it for one night of our trip (it is the only time ever that all three kids are in the age range to go, so we are taking advantage this one and only time!).

We'll be checking in at the Poly early tomorrow morning (staying at the MCO Hyatt tonight). We have a standard view room booked and requested (via note on reservation and a fax (not touring plans)):
#1-3rd floor with balcony
#2-Samoa or Fiji
I'll report back tomorrow what we actually get. I'm guessing it won't be Samoa!

Hope you get your requests!! A non-touring plans fax? Do you mind if I ask what number you sent this to (or where you located that info)? I'm hoping to do the same for our Fall trip--we have always sent in faxes to our resorts in the past but this is our first time to stay at Poly.

That is so odd. I called and requested a third floor room in Samoa or Rarotonga. We stayed ten nights and just got back earlier this week. We got a third floor room in Samoa overlooking the lava pool and Grand Floridian. Standard view booked. I wonder if they switched it 8/1?

I've always used the Poly fax number on WDWIG.com:

407-824-3174

This might be the same as Touring Plans

For those who have been at the Poly over the last few weeks, has the monorail been reliable or does it break down often? To get to MK is the boat the best choice?

We are checked in. Room not ready yet and the CM didn't give us what longhouse we are in. She gave us a resort map and said we'd get a text with room number later.

Just ate breakfast at Kona. Relaxing in GCH waiting for pool to open at 10am.

You probably know this but the Oasis Pool opens at 7AM if you want to go swim right now. :-)

Have a great trip!

Thanks! I didn't think about the Oasis pool.

DH loves to get a table by the Barefoot Pool Bar, read a book and enjoy the libations so we're waiting for the Volcano pool to open. :)
Today is pool day then dinner at California Grill!

So excited for you, love Kona

At the pool. Glorious!!

I just got our room ready text. We got Aotearoa 3rd floor. From the room# I know we'll be on the side facing the monorail.
So it does seem like they are sticking to new view categories.
