Does anyone have photos or reviews of the oasis pool bar menu? We cant wait to eat here and have never seen a photo of the food! Also, does anyone know if you can use a QS creit on the sushi platter there?! THanks!!

So, Tikiman just reported that when the beach does reopen, it will only be from dawn to dusk. My plan for arrival night was swimming and Wishes / EWP from the beach, since we won't get to the resort until about 5. Anywhere else from the resort we could see the fireworks?? The pool? Assume we could just stand on the path? So sad, Wishes from the Poly beach has been on my bucket list for years, we just always seem to end up in the parks at night

I watched Wishes from the Poly 2 nights in May. I found the beach too crowded, so I walked down by the bungalows and found a couple great, uncrowded spots. One was on the walkway, where the beach ends and the bungalows begin. Then if you keep walking away from the beach, there is a path up a small hill in the direction of the bungalows. At the top of this hill are a couple benches. It's a perfect view of the castle. The benches were taken, but I went into the grass nearby and watched. The only bad part was that the Wishes music was very faint from the beach that far away. A CM recommended this spot to me the second night, and I mentioned that I could barely hear the Wishes soundtrack. He said there were speakers on the top of that hill and they must not be working, he was going to talk to management to have them fixed.

Rarotonga 3rd floor facing pool building couldn't actually see the pool but was able to see higher fireworks. It was great location right beside main bldg. close to buses and pools. Very close to the Dole whips we loved it!

Agreed! We had Raratonga 3rd floor facing the monorail. It was perfect for me and my parents in their 60s - very convenient to be across from the elevator and so close to the GCH, monorail, and also a close walk to/from the TTC.

It is a really, really long walk back to the Princess Breakfast and still a good ways to the Land Pavillion. If she needs an ECV at all and your breakfast is at Akershus, then I would make sure she has the ECV.

When we were there last year, there was a bus for every park. We had a PPO breakfast at each park, and saw buses for all of them. Unfortunately we didn't know the monorail wasn't running to Epcot the day of our Princess Breakfast and the Epcot bus had just left, so we wound up having to catch a cab over. The day for our Animal Kingdom breakfast, we saw a bus for every park three of four times (for each park) other than Animal Kingdom. The cast member kept telling us it would be here in just a few minutes, but it wound up being more than 30 minutes from the time the CM got to our bus stop to check on us (and we got to the bus stop before 7am). We were all late for our reservations, but since it wasn't our fault, they were great about getting us checked in at Tusker House.

Our breakfast is at Garden Grill. Mom wants it to get a ride on Soarin. We are annual pass holders, so have been there a lot. She knows how far it is and claims she will be fine for breakfast. Then we will catch the monorail back and get her ECV for the rest of the day. She is able to go to the mall, grocery store, etc. okay at home with no help at all, she just can't handle the world showcase. I've decided I'm just not going to argue with her because she refuses to be late for this!

I always pack enough clothes for the entire time, but we ALWAYS do laundry so that everyone can wear their favorite comfy hot weather clothes a seccond time instead of wearing their least favorite the one time. Does anybody else find they do this? I'm thinking of planning to wash clothes, as that is what we have done every single time, and this time not have to worry about every single pound in the luggage on the way home. It's always a mad scramble to keep each bag under 50.

I do the very same thing, pack all these outfits and then end up doing laundry and we all re-wear the same few outfits. I would say just plan to do the laundry and pack less!

I drive my own car to WDW so I have the luxury of taking as much stuff as I want BUT I agree about wearing some of the same items over again. I pack lightly (clothes-wise), plus I just love having fresh, clean clothes. See you in the Laundry Room!

I made my fastpass selections this morning which means we are 60 days away from our first Poly stay!!!! I am getting so excited. We were able to get fastpasses for FEA too

As for over packing, I can't not over pack . I don't do laundry on vacation, so it's hard for me not to pack a lot of extras just in case....lol.

I watched Wishes from the Poly 2 nights in May. I found the beach too crowded, so I walked down by the bungalows and found a couple great, uncrowded spots. At the top of this hill are a couple benches. It's a perfect view of the castle. The benches were taken, but I went into the grass nearby and watched. He said there were speakers on the top of that hill and they must not be working, he was going to talk to management to have them fixed.

I'm coming back baby! My husband celebrated our 12 year wedding anniversary with a surprise trip to WDW in Sept. He booked us at the Polynesian for 7 days. SO excited! Did I mention how much I love that man!

Welp....just back from our first stay at the Poly and we loved it. We were slightly disappointed because we got our hopes up when we got the text from the resort....Fiji room 3306. When we got to the room, it was a king size bed and we have 5 people....not gonna work. We went back to the lobby and they reassigned us a room. We ended up with Tuvalu room 3403....not quite the view of the other room but, hey, that's not going to ruin the vacation. We could still see some of the beach and I'm at the Poly/WDW....all is well. I forgot to take a pic so I lifted this one from the TP sight.

The room and bathroom were very large...there were a few, minor flaws (night stand cabinet door fell off), something sticky on the floor (bubble gum - didn't like that) and the property looked a little old but it IS old...and very charming. The fence along the beaches are non-intrusive and look like they've been there all along. The Luau is somewhat noisy but the late show ends at 10:00...not really an issue at all.

General likes
-The music throughout the hotel. Very relaxing and set the mood perfectly.
-The general store on the 2nd floor...had milk, packs of water, general "stuff"....prices were higher but so is delivery. The only thing missing was fresh fruit.
-Trader Sam's porch - the performers there each night were wonderful.
-Watching "Wishes" from the resort
-The boat to MK...we preferred the boat to the monorail.
-The pool is aw

Dislikes/Complaints
-Limited on quick food choices at the hotel. I was used to a food court at the AS and PoR...Captain Cook's was ok.
-Monorail - Not the fault of the Poly but why am I paying for a monorail resort if I can't take the monorail to make an 8:00 rope drop?
-Gift shop didn't have enough stuff with the Polynesian name on it....I would loved to get a resort cap or shirt.

Overall, we had a great time...this was the first time we have been to WDW this late in June. It only rained one time and we were already back in the room on a break. Went back to the parks later and it was perfect.

I'm very glad we were finally able to swing a stay at the Poly...it had been something I wanted to do for a long time. Honestly, looking back I wish I had just gone ahead and paid for the MK or lake view.

We are 4 days away now from our very first Poly stay! Nervous about being trampled by crowds for 4th of July but otherwise super-excited to try this resort. We are lagoon view CL and have everything crossed for one of the 3rd floor rooms! We're doing a split with 5 nts Poly and the 4 nts BC Club level. Hope to post live so if you have Qs ask away!
