My family of 3 was originally put in a king room in Fiji for our Jan 16 trip even though we had requested 2 Queens. The CM at check in stated that the couch folds out to a bed so the room did sleep 3. We did not want our daughter to have to sleep on the couch though so they were able to move us to another room after about a 20 minute search for one.

Thanks. We will be sure to make a specific request then. Glad they were able to move you !

Just wondering if anyone has had any experience with on-line check-in at the Poly? In all the years I've been to WDW, I've never done it and was interested to know if it makes a difference with any room requests you make. I know the requests are not guaranteed but the CM I spoke to on the phone said to go ahead and do it so I can add my requests there in addition to on my reservation. My requests are - 3rd floor facing pool or marina - preferably Samoa. Any thoughts would be appreciated!

I did on-line check in last year and also checked in at front desk, since I had not yet rec'd a text and b/c I arrived around 1pm.
I had requested Fiji and Niue and had been put in Fiji.

I recently completed on-line check-in for my August trip and you may only check two boxes:

Anyone staying at the Poly, not just DVC, can use it.

:thumbsup2

I can't help with OCI as we've never done it, but wanted to say I hope you have a great trip and get your requests met. Samoa is our favorite longhouse :goodvibes.

Yes! We also love Niue ♥

Good luck with your project :) I have a few photos.

Thanks so much for this! Unfortunately in order for it to print correctly I need a square pretty much straight on. I swear disney would make a fortune on me alone if they sold things from resort rooms or had a good resort collection!

Thanks. I was afraid of that :worried:

**If anyone who is there now or going soon reads this***
could you possibly take a few photos of the bathroom wallpaper, looking straight on?

Otherwise, I'm going early August and can do it then:flower3:

You are the best :flower:frankly, with all of the reno work we did the last two weeks, I could use a trip to the Poly again to relax!! But maybe twice in two months is taking it too far....haha. My wallet hates when I start thinking of vacations!

So there are busses from TTC to Epcot? This is where I am having trouble finding an answer. We will be in a DVC studio so heading over to TTC will be no problem, I just don't want to get there and not have a way to Epcot. My mom is now telling me she can do without her ECV that morning, so we can just take an Uber. She really wants this breakfast, lol!

It is a really, really long walk back to the Princess Breakfast and still a good ways to the Land Pavillion. If she needs an ECV at all and your breakfast is at Akershus, then I would make sure she has the ECV.

When we were there last year, there was a bus for every park. We had a PPO breakfast at each park, and saw buses for all of them. Unfortunately we didn't know the monorail wasn't running to Epcot the day of our Princess Breakfast and the Epcot bus had just left, so we wound up having to catch a cab over. The day for our Animal Kingdom breakfast, we saw a bus for every park three of four times (for each park) other than Animal Kingdom. The cast member kept telling us it would be here in just a few minutes, but it wound up being more than 30 minutes from the time the CM got to our bus stop to check on us (and we got to the bus stop before 7am). We were all late for our reservations, but since it wasn't our fault, they were great about getting us checked in at Tusker House.

I read that it's difficult to find a table in the Tambu Lounge due to it filling with families waiting for their Ohana reservations. Is this true? Can I also assume, then, that minors are allowed in there?

Yes and yes. . .at peak dining hours it can be challenging. :)

I'm sure this is true, and it's a bit of a personal pet peeve for us. We love our nephews and goddaughter like crazy, and I teach 4th grade, so us not loving kids isn't the problem. We also understand that we're at WDW and that avoiding children there is beyond impossible, but I get irritated when I'm anywhere and I see children sitting at a bar. A few years ago at Narcoossee's, they were running very late with our ADR time, and we decided to have a drink (or 2-they were waaaay behind with seating) at the bar, but we couldn't because more than 1/2 the bar seats were taken by children, under the age of 10 drinking Shirley Temples. We made it a point to notify the host that they'd lost the opportunity to serve us each as many as 2 cocktails because of the lack of seating in the first place, and also because we felt uncomfortable reaching over young children to accept our alcoholic beverages, not to mention hovering over them while we drank them. This happened to us recently in NYC before the theatre, where we ended up not being able to enjoy an appetizer before the show because all the local restaurants had kids sitting in bar seats. I'm not a fan of this at all. I know it's WDW, but can't there be one place that's for grownups? I really think that bar seats should be 21+. Just my opinion though. :confused3
