@Mikeb1892 we had a standard view booked with that agency & ended up 3rd floor Aotearoa overlooking the Luau Cove beach and GF. We watched Wishes from our balcony & could listen to the MK Welcome Show over coffee on the balcony in the morning :)
Loved our room and the location within the Resort.

A very few short steps to the Marina and Voila! there was the Castle off in the distance & a view of the Water parade at night. Not at all bad for a standard view at all.

That sounds amazing. Did you request that with online check in and/or when you arrived, or did you just luck out with the location?

So with this possible tropical system in the Gulf and what looks to be a rain-out for at least Tuesday I'm wondering how likely it would be to extend our stay by one night. I was going to ask at check in tomorrow. Anyone have any kind of experience or insight with this?

We had requested Fiji 3rd floor on our online request page, it was fully booked so we were given Aotearoa 3rd floor, it was a great trade off! :)

Not a dumb question at all and YES the CL lounge is always open! That is something we love about staying Poly CL. My DH is an early riser and likes to take his laptop and phone to the lounge for his morning work.....all while enjoying coffee sitting in the Poly lounge! And my kids and I get to sleep and take our time getting ready. Win-win for all of us!
Thanks! It sounds like it may be worth the extra $ for us, though I am still wavering :)

We checked out Friday 6/3 and have not received our folio yet. Is that normal? Checked Credit card and see the total amount that should be there but there are also other charges we do not recognize.

Hope you have a great trip! :wizard:

If the extra cost is doable, I'd try it! The food offerings are a nice perk, but we find CL worth it for the lounge alone as it provides a great place to sit and relax :).

:goofy::dancer:Finally made it to double digits........ :yay::dogdance:party:

We've never done room charging, but I always thought the folio was slid under your door so you had it first thing in the morning of check out :confused3. With that said, I have read some reports of others getting one through email, so I'm not sure what the policy is. Hopefully others will be able to give some information on how it works.

This happened to us in early May. I ended up calling and they promptly emailed it to me. So sorry, though, that I can't remember what number I called.

Ours was waiting in our email upon return and dated the day of check out. It even included all of our charges prior to leaving property. We arrived home at 9:30 p.m. and it was waiting for us. If you haven't received it, I would definitely contact the resort.

We are planning our first stay at Polynesian for May/June 2017. It will be myself, DD21, DS3 and new DGbaby (not sure of gender until June 13). My daughter and I have always stayed at the value resorts in the past as it was fun, cheaper and just not necessary for bigger rooms with just me and her. Last trip we stayed with my son who was 6 months old at the time in AoA and noticed we'd definitely need bigger room next trip, so we're splurging and chose Poly for monorail purposes as well as theming etc. However, we don't know much about the resort itself except what we can find out from the Disney site which is generic and reviews here. Of course, I plan to read through the recent comments on here throughout the time until booking/trip time, but any advice or words of wisdom, tips, etc. for staying at the Poly would be greatly appreciated. What would be the best area to request with toddler and newborn?

We checked out 6/3 also and did not get folio email. I asked a desk for copy before we left.

That has happened to us a couple times. I called 407-824-4321 and had an email with a detailed bill before I hung up.

So are all the check out folios emailed now? They don't just leave something under your door the morning of checkout?

Hello. I posted this on the Club level thread but thought I would come to Poly experts here also!! We are considering upgrading to Club level for our Poly stay next month. My understanding is the the 2nd floor rooms do not have a balcony. Does anyone know if the windows in those rooms open? We would like to give club level a try but my husband really likes having a balcony to sit on and if we go club level, he is worried it will decrease the possibility of having a balcony. Thank you!

We just returned from our Disney vacation at the Polynesian Resort. Overall it was a fun trip, but there were a couple of negatives. As you may have heard there was a power outage last week at the Oasis pool at a couple of the DVC buildings. Luckily we were not affected, since we were staying at the Aotearoa Longhouse.
As of yesterday they still had portable generators outside the affected buildings (making a lot of noise).
Service was good but you could see how the staff cutbacks have made an impact. One example of this was the fact that it took someone twent four hours to remove a couple of glasses from the top of a trash can in front of the Spirit of Aloha sign. Another example was that it took four days for a broken hallway light fixture to be replaced near our room. These are not things I would associate with a deluxe resort. In fact I believe a new term is warranted, "Disney Deluxe", which is defined as a step below what one would consider a deluxe hotel.
Breakfast at Ohana was fun, and our ten year old enjoyed Lilo's Clubhouse. On Monday I had our kids do a Polynesian scavenger hunt which they really liked. Let me know if you would like me to post the scavenger hunt list.
Crowds were quite heavy with the pool being packed most days. Note: PLEASE use swim diapers on your little ones. The kids water play area had to be shut down for half the day due to a potty accident. Let me know if you have any questions.

Sure thing, here is the scavenger hunt list:

1.) Get a photo of yourself with Auntie Kau'i
2.)Take a photo of yourself in front of the Spirit of Aloha sign.
3.)What date did the Polynesian Resort open?
4.)What Beatle once stayed at the Polynesian Resort?
5.)How many chandelier lights hang from the lobby ceiling?
6.)Count all the outside Tiki statues-how many are there?
7.)How much is it to rent a Sea Racer from the marina?
8.)Get a penny pressed at the resort.
9.)Take a photo of yourself in front of 4 different Tiki Statues
10.)Get a takeout menu from Capt. Cook's
11.)Take a photo of 3 different hidden Mickey's in the resort lobby
12.)How much does it cost to wash one load of laundry at the Polynesian?
13.)What is the deepest depth at the Oasis pool?

(Once you've completed the hunt, be the first team to get to Sunset Pointe. Ask for directions if you need to.)
