I'm not seeing my alerts anymore. And I didn't change anything. Can someone tell me what I can do to fix it?

If you don't check the thread after you get an alert, you won't get additional alerts until you do. That may be the issue?

Do they have an estimated month of completion for the east pool?

I'm thinking it will be closer to early spring 2016, but you never know when they might be running ahead or behind, or if there is even an official timeframe for the work. Since its a major renovation I'd expect it to take quit a long time, but I'm sure their goal would be to have itmdone before any big holidays in the late winter or early spring of 2016.

I love the Poly but I'm glad we decided to switch to GF this September, we will go back to the Poly when the construction is done, but this year we will go over for dinner and walk around the resort to see progress.

I am staying at the poly, in a villa studio, for the first time in 2 weeks. I have seen that the monorails aren't starting until 8:30 on Tuesdays (our MK day), is there a way to get to the MK earlier than that? We are used to waiting for rope drop already by 8:30.

Thank you!

I bet they are not far enough long yet to know when it's going to be done. They started so late all other estimates of completion can't possibly be right.

Sea spray, we just arrived today and there is definitely a nice clear pathway. No steps, and quite wide -you should be fine!

Also, just wanted to let everyone know that they are still using the first floor garden view rooms -we're in one! And I had requested third floor, so it's not just because we specifically requested first floor. There is still a decent buffer of grass, then the walkway, then the construction fence. Can't figure out how to post a picture, but I will when we get home. Everything is great so far!

Thanks so much for letting me know!!!! :sunny:

Oh, and the lobby smell is back! Not sure how much that matters to anyone else, but I missed it!

Yay!! :yay: That matters to me!!!! ::yes::

Yes, the resort is gorgeous! Took a long walk this morning and it's 100 percent improved since February! There's only one walkway that looks to be partially blocked by the east pool construction (I think it's just outside of Samoa?), so walking around is easy and quick.

Sat out on our patio this morning too, and we really like being on the first floor-you definitely have more leg room, and there's nothing blocking the view (fencing). Still like third floor too, this is just better than I originally expected.

As far as the monorail, for this week the reduced hours are just on monday and Tuesday. Not sure if that will continue or not.

Any other questions, just let me know!

I'm glad that you are enjoying your patio after all. :) We stayed in a patio room in the Hawaii building in 2008 and really enjoyed it. :cloud9:

We are just back from our week at the Poly. I used Touring Plan's fax service to request Samoa, 3rd fl, west side (Lava pool view). We got our exact request. It was a lovely view of the Lava pool, bay, and Grand Flo.

The east pool is fenced off. They are using back hoe's to rip out the concrete and structures. Sometimes our building would shake. They stopped by dinner time. They were also doing some façade work on our building. Again, it was done by dinner time so it didn't bother us.

We didn't swim, but had a perfect pool view. The pool didn't seem overly crowded. People really need to pick up their towels. The lifeguards were constantly cleaning up after people.

Our room was spotless. CM's nice.

I didn't go past the East pool to check out the villa's, so I can't comment on that area.

When the pool closed at 11, the resort became nice and quiet.

The safe was large enough to hold our 17" laptop.

Wonderful you got your room request. Did you happen to arrive early or after 3

Glad to hear you got your requests and pool wasn't crazy crowded! Especially in the heat of summer. I can't wait to cool down in that pool!!!
Pool slobs not picking up their dirty wet towels so others can use lounge is one of my pet peeves. Really no excuse, since they just about have to fall over towel bin leaving pool area. How hard is it?

Anyone with kids 10 - 12 going the 2nd week of September? Just wondering if anyone my DDs age will be around then, or is it going to be mostly adults ans toddlers since school will be in session.

20 days out! Magic bands have arrived, along with our luggage tags and so have my nerves. Now I'm stressing over getting the last few things we need. It's more stressful this trip because both kids start school the day after we come home. So not only do I need to get the last minute things for disney but all thier school supplies too! Ugh o_O

How does the fax service work? I have a TP subscription and didn't know this was available.

We'll be in MK on Tuesday August 18.....the park opens at 9am but we have an 8am BOG ADR. I'm assuming the boats will be running earlier than the monorail. Anyone know?

We are 19 days out! SO excited!
We get back from our trip 3 days before DD starts college (she's going to a local university so she'll be living at home).
