A much delayed quick report back on our trip in early July...but here goes!

Arrival Date was July 1st for four nights in a Poly Standard View Villa, checked out on July 5th. For online checkin I do believe the only request I made was for a high floor. We arrived around 11:30am on July 1st and had a text that our room was ready. I was not that familiar with the Poly Resort area, but we lucked out and walked in the right general direction...directly into the TOKELAU building:

I can't tell you how much I was sqealing with excitement. It was just PERFECT!

Beautiful pics, thanks for sharing :flower3:.

Am here now and am more in love with this resort than ever. We are pinching ourselves with how fabulous it is.

We are in Fiji and have a view of the marina. We walk to Captain Cook's in just a few minutes and the boat is convenient as well.

Have always stayed on the other side of the resort (Rapa Nui

You made it :yay:.

Sounds like you're having a great time and enjoying the Poly :goodvibes.

Captain cooks is gorgeous.
The pineapple lanai is an awesome addition.
The lobby is perfect. I absolutely love it.
Great CMs in the lobby.
Our room is very clean! Wonderful mouse keeping situation. Always come back to a clean room by 1pm.

I can't wait to see all of the changes when we return to the Poly next summer :).

The East Pool has closed, as you know. It is fenced off. There are also cranes with men power washing, on Samoa. They are there during the day but everything looks back to normal in the evenings.
We are having a perfect stay, but if we were staying in Samoa, Hawaii, Niue, Rarotonga, or Tokelau, we would probably feel less enthusiastic. Hopefully not.
Right now, Aotearoa would also be a great choice. I've seen many happy people all over the resort... I cannot express how nice everything is for us.
Also, I booked a standard view, during Value Season, with the resort offer (30% off?). So I feel the value for what I'm getting is great!! Absolutely in love with this place.

Awesome pics, thanks for taking the time to post them :goodvibes.

Is this for MDE app or the web site?

The web site. I wonder if there is a way to do it on the app?
No idea. I never use the App. Always the website. Even from my phone

Oh boy so not what I wanted to hear!

I purposely booked a CL room because I had heard from so many folks that the Poly's CL offerings were so great. Now after reading your quick review of the breakfast offerings (no proteins) and recently reading about dissapointing evening offerings, I'm now worried that I made a HUGE mistake choosing CL here :sad2:. Going to take a deep breath now and try not to stress too much...we'll see soon enough when we check in on the 14th of August!

We've done CL at WL and AKL and neither of those have protein for breakfast either. Not sure how common it is to find proteins at the WDW CL locations.

mickeynut, you MUST book here -and not switch! ;) Since you already love the resort more than any other, you will be thrilled. Sounds as though you have plans for next summer. I am SO glad!

Poly is THE BEST!! When you come home via monorail and the lush landscaping transports you... The new bits of color on the signs of the long houses, it's just very, very special. Seems as though oom location right now is pretty key to a magical experience, though.

I had requested Niue and patio then tried to change it to Fiji and patio but it highlighted all 3 and you're only supposed to get 2 choices.
I got SO lucky to be placed where I am.

Sue M I will ask a CM about transportation. We have not taken the monorail early yet so I can't answer your question. There is always the boat to MK, though. As for Epcot, we walked to TTC after b'fast this a.m. 10 minutes until we boarded the monorail to Epcot. Saved time over going to GF, MK, CR, then TTC.

Off to do some laundry :)

I agree about the monorail to TTC. We walked over on Monday morning to catch it. The other monorails weren't running at 9am so there were long lines at the boat and bus area..but nothing for Epcot.

Each morning there was such a line at the boat dock for getting to MK before 9ish. We could see it from our patio.

Is there construction still going on at the Poly? if so how much longer will it last?
Yes, they just broke ground on the East/quiet pool Monday. It's due to last for a few months. It got started later than expected so I'm not sure they have an exact date for completion yet

So what method is suggested for one to use to get to MK before opening (which is 8:00 many mornings)
Taxi to CR?

I was wondering the same thing about transportation. How do you get to MK for an 8am breakfast reservation besides the bus? We have 2 small children and one of the main reasons for booking the Poly was for the monorail with the strollers and such. I really don't want to have to take a bus if I don't have to. We'll have a rental car as well. Will the boat from Poly to MK be running early mornings? I know it's probably unclear for August right now but I'm just wondering what others are experiencing now. Thanks in advance!

So I'm a tad concerned ... we booked the Poly for week before Christmas. With the pool construction and monorail possible being down at times I'm wondering if we should look to change resorts. We have stayed at BC several times so I guess that would be a good alternative. Is the GF such a huge jump up in money is that out of the question? Thoughts?

Checked into CL this morning. Moved over from Old Key West. We've been at WDW for 12 days and plan on ending our trip relaxing and enjoying the Poly.

Sitting in the CL lounge as I type enjoying a few appetizers before we hit the pool. I was surprised that there are only 5 other tables of people here with us. Plenty of snacks to go around.

When we checked in we had to walk through Samoa to get to Hawaii but now the walkway in front of Samoa is open!

This is our first stay at the Poly. We come to WDW at least once a year and have APs. First impressions are pretty good since I was prepared for the construction. We also are DVC members and were able to tour a bungalow and studio. Crazy prices on those bungalows. Holy cow!

We did an 8am ADR at MK last week and the resort monorail started at 7am. They gave us a monorail schedule when we checked in. I'll have to take a picture later. The ferry was not running that early from TTC.

Is the monorail running later every morning? I had read a post (which referenced a website) that said it would only be running on the later schedule Monday through Wednesday. If it's actually every day, I need to do some tweaking to my schedule :rolleyes1 Thanks!!

It is more and, while no construction, you will have all the same monorail issues at GF. BC was recently refurbed and allows you to walk to two parks.

The boats were running. I have no idea if the buses were taking people to MK

Thanks. Last Aug when we were at GF it was the Epcot monorail on limited hours. Didn't start running till 9:00 so they bussed until then.

I'm thinking of doing a split for next summer, but we all decided we want to go back to the Poly, so that's definite :goodvibes....just need to decide which resort to split with :rolleyes1.

I'm so glad you're having a great time!! It's hard to beat the beautiful tropical atmosphere and lush landscape of the Poly. We have loved all of the resorts we've tried, but the Poly will always be our favorite :wizard:.

kittylady1972, thanks for posting those pics. Do you remember what room # you stayed in Tokelua?

You are welcome. I just can't say enough about how much we loved that room. Room #3914 and we all agreed it was probably the best view we've ever had at a Disney Resort. Sure we had to go on the balcony to see the MK but it was still so nice. We could go out our door and right down the stairs to walk down to the beach, the parking lot wasn't too far away and the walk to the TTC was very close as well.

Thanks, we will request that room when we go in April! Awesome view for a standard view.
