You are welcome. I just can't say enough about how much we loved that room. Room #3914 and we all agreed it was probably the best view we've ever had at a Disney Resort. Sure we had to go on the balcony to see the MK but it was still so nice. We could go out our door and right down the stairs to walk down to the beach, the parking lot wasn't too far away and the walk to the TTC was very close as well
GREAT room:cheer2:! NICE and close for early morning coffee in a refillable mug! CAN'T WAIT for October!:hyper:

The bolded part is exactly how we feel about our favorite rooms at Poly. We recently returned from a CL stay (1st floor lagoon view) and even though it wasn't the first time we've had this great view, it still blows us away every time. There simply hasn't been anything like it for us :cloud9:. It changes our trip, that's for sure, when we have a balcony/patio combined with a gorgeous view.

This is what we looked at every day from our beds!! 1503 Hawaii. You can see the top half of the Castle in between the first 2 bungalows, fyi.

:wave:Hello all!

Have been working my way through this thread all morning (slow day at work )

I am getting a bit overwhelmed at trying to decide which longhouse/view to get.:confused3 I think I've spent the last week reading every suggestion or review ever written and I'm not any closer to deciding:sad2:. I know it's still way far out (August 2016) but I'm a bit of an obsessive planner that way. I want a decent view but it seems I'd have to get a club level room for that (still looking into the benefits of going for that upgrade as well). Any insights would be greatly appreciated. I'll be traveling with my husband and 3 kids, DD13, DD8 and DS3. Also, if I posted this in the wrong thread or if there is a better one to post in please let me know as I'm a newbie here, thanks!

I think you may have to wait a bit. The favorites right now are being driven by the construction. I they will be totally different by next summer.

Here are some pictures I took at the poly from our recent 4th of July trip:

Wow, that's almost exactly the same view that is used on the promotional website and brochures for the DVC Polynesian Villas. Can you see the castle from that particular patio? I was wondering if the bungalows blocked any of the CL views.

The bungalows do block the prior great view of the Castle, unfortunately. From my room (1503), we could see the Castle in between the tops of 2 bungalows. The fireworks show is still great, but what you lose from the ground level is watching the Castle along with the fireworks. If you look in between the 1st two bungalows, you can see the top half of the Castle:

Definitely not the view it used to be, but we are fine with it because we still love being able to walk out onto the beach and we've adjusted to the "new" view. Also, we get to pay for lagoon view now instead of theme park view!

I also posted some other room view pictures from Hawaii on the CL thread while I was there. Some other people were also wondering about the various views from different areas of the 1st floor. My room was on the extreme left (1503) and I took a few pictures of rooms to the right. It's in the CL thread posted probably around June 30 or so. I also posted some views from the garden side of Hawaii, but the construction hadn't started yet so it's hard to know exactly what it looks like now.

EDIT to add: It's post #550 on this page of the CL thread:

I bailed on the Poly GV CL room we had booked for August 19th. I just don't want to deal with construction and everything it brings. I scored a SV CL room at the BC for the same price which I'm thrilled with. We were only doing one night at the Poly and then 7 nights at the BC so now we can just stay at the BC for our entire trip. I wanted to give the Poly a try without having to commit to it for an entire trip but I would rather wait for a time when all of the construction is complete so I can really get a feel for what it's truly like.

Haven't caught up. On monorail back to Poly from MK. Resort Monorail is currently running 7a-1a :)

P.S. We left Polynesian via monorail around 7:30 this a.m. Entered at MK for early breakfast at 7:45 (b'fast at 8:10) The best!

That's not bad at all, 15 minutes from getting on the monorail to entering MK, and that's with stopping at the GF on the way :thumbsup2.

I agree with the pp that I would maybe wait until next spring to see what the situation is at that time :). Some longhouses that usually have great views are obstructed right now, so it's hard to give a suggestion for next summer.

Just spoke with IPO as I was having an issue with my on-line check in. The CM told me that beginning next week the first floor level GV CL rooms would be taken out of service. Guests will only be allowed to stay on the 2nd and 3rd floor.

Any estimate of how long those rooms will be out of service?

@mickeynut1 the CM did not say, and I did not ask. Guessing for the duration of the renovations, but who knows.

Thanks :). I was just curious as we are wanting to try CL next summer and I'm starting to think a discount might be hard to come by for Poly CL :rolleyes1.

22 days until we are at the Poly!!!! I am soooooooooooooooooooo excited!!!!!!!!! :-)

The time will fly and you will be checking in before you know it :yay:.
