Can you refill your mugs at the pool side bar?

I'm debating on getting them. We are a family of 4 staying 10 nights. It's a split stay. I drink only water. The kids like lemonade and an occasional soda. My BF likes lemonade too.

We will do midday breaks at the pool everyday and a few meals at the resort.

I'm thinking of getting 2-3 since I really only do water.

You can only fill the mugs at the food court (Captain Cook's), but it is just steps away from the pool area.

Can anyone tell me if they have life vests for children by the pool? Stayed at CR last year and they had them there so I'm hoping they'll have the same at Poly and I won't have to pack floaties!

Also wanted to check in regarding the kids splash area. Last I read it seemed the height limit was only for the one slide, not for the entire area. Has anyone had experience with this recently? Are they allowing taller kids to play in the area as long as they don't go on the one slide intended for smaller kids? I really hope so as I know my DS7 would really enjoy this area.

Yes, there were life vests. It was hit or miss with the height restriction in the splash area. Some days no children over 48 inches were allowed, some days just not allowed on the slide and then times when the pool was closed for "emergency maintenance" they didn't enforce anything.

We have a reservation one night at Trial's End. There is no boat that runs from the Poly to FW, correct? Would the best way to get there be to take the monorail to the MK and then boat to FW?

You can do that but i think you can also take the boat from Poly to MK, then transfer to the Fort Wilderness boat.

What about the monorail to the Contemporary and then boat to Fort Wilderness? That was our plan on the 4th of July so that we can avoid MK crowd. Is that a smart way or will it take a lot longer?

Well that's interesting. Kind of hard to prepare my DS if there's no clear cut policy. Thanks for the heads up.

Alright guys I'm a bit of a mess here lol. I'm trying to book 9-23 through 9-29 (2 adults, 1 child)and there are currently no standard view rooms available and really do not want to book lagoon view or standard club level. what are the possibilities someone will cancel out or more rooms become available during this time frame? I really can't change my dates but and help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

You could absolutely do this as well, and it may be faster than waiting for a boat to MK - you'll just have to make almost a full trip on the monorail.

Since we are not flying out of Orlando on one of the "preferred airlines" that has airport check in available at the resort, does anyone know if there is anywhere at the Poly where we could check in for our flights online and print our boarding passes?? TIA!

If you haven't already, you might try booking through a third party, like a travel agent or online travel site. Sometimes they'll have blocks of rooms set aside that won't show up when booking directly through Disney.

So....there is a boat from the Contemporary to F. Wilderness?

Yeah...this is a thought...the travel agents do have inventory. But....if you are looking to be on the dining plan...there could be stipulations that exempt you. For example...I have Poly reservations for Thanksgiving week but have the room discount and can't use FD. Let us know how u make out!

If you stop at the concierge desk with your info, they can do this for you.

I went ahead and Booked Wilderness Lodge Club Level in the mean time. Garden view club level was available at the poly but IDK if it is worth it considering the quiet pool construction I will have to be looking at.

I'll search the run of the mill travel sites for a standard room though in hopes of lucking out. If anyone sees one on the Disneyworld site give me a heads up :-D

That works too! And prob less crowded since many don't know about the resort boat from CR. you may have a stop at WL first. Can't remember what direction it goes in, and they switch directions, morning and afternoon.

I was hoping for the less-crowded feel more than the actual time - I am worried that if we try to leave from MK we will hit serious crowds trying to get on the boat as it is July 4th! EEK! So even if it is a bit of a longer trip to go to the Contemporary and then the boat from there, we hopefully should get on a boat without an issue and be on our way with a few less people. At least... that is my hope!
