Tokelau is my fav location. But if you're sharing one studio I'm not sure you'll all fit? It will be pretty squishy.

CAN'T WAIT to start hearing comments/reviews on Tokelau! Heard that it was officially opened I believe!

i should add that i also celebrated my 40th at disney, although that time we were at BC/ GF. we do have special plans this time! there are 8 of us eating at victoria and albert's on the actual day of my bday. myself, dh, our kids, my dad, and three of my friends. then we will finish off the night at mizner's at the GF. i can't wait! how about you?

oh, and you asked about a longhouse. we will be in hawaii so we are all set.

So jealous that you will be eating at V&A! I really wanted to do that but time/expense prevents. My celebration will be the Dolphin Trainer for a Day program at Discovery cove. I have always wanted to do a trainer program so I told my family that is what I wanted to do for my 40th. It also happens to be a great time for my girls ages 6 & almost 10 to do our big DW trip (we live in Seattle so long haul for us). We are doing lots of fun stuff-- Illuminations Fireworks Cruise, Frozen Summer Fun premium package, Raglan Road, Ohana, the four parks, Kennedy Space Center, Park Fare brunch, CRT pre-park breakfast, BOG dinner and breakfast...the list goes on and I get tired just thinking about all that in the August heat. But SOOOO excited.

We have requested Samoa but might change to Raratonga if the quiet pool is still open. We need two connecting rooms (fingers crossed one with a King bed) and a separate room so things are a bit complicated!

I asked a CM this morning about the quiet pool construction and he said it is only starting after summer; it was to start in April but they decided to keep it open because the resort is too full right now to close it. Hopefully that is the case for those of you that have summer stays.

What??!!??!!! That would be fantastic!!!!!! Has anyone else heard this news? I don't want to count my chickens before they hatch but those chickens are looking mighty tasty now!

I do think we'll like CR, maybe just not our parking lot view! I'll be sure to post my thoughts!
As for BW...it's in a 3 way tie with BC/YC to be our favorite, and hands-down, the best CL experience we've had! It is a gorgeous resort. You should wander over there and look around. See if you like the atmosphere....

To be honest, if we got solid confirmation that the pool wouldn't be closing 'til the end of the summer, I can't say that we wouldn't make the jump back to POLY. We'll see, won't we?

I'd be tempted to switch back to the Poly, too. We had a CL GV room and with the east pool closing up in the air, we switched to the WL. WL is lovely and I'm sure we'll enjoy it, but the Poly was where we really wanted to be.

whoa! now THAT is a birthday! sounds like it will be an amazing trip for all of you! close friends of ours did the dolphin trainer for a day at discovery cove a few years ago and loved it.

i am right there with the rest of you who are super excited over the potential of the east pool possibly still being open during our trip! i will be THRILLED if that is the case. we are GV CL so we are almost guaranteed to have a construction view if the pool is under construction then. i was SO tempted to switch and really the only reason i didn't is because we have other two parties staying at the poly then, too, and i know at least one of them definitely would not switch as they just bought DVC at the poly and this will be there first DVC stay there. it was just easier to stay put and make the best of it. fingers crossed!!

I have wandered over to BW during our BC/YC stays. It's the pool, with Scary clown, lol. And SAB is so much nicer. Maybe during a winter trip when pool isn't as important! Lots of good dining.

Yesterday I did the online checkin. It took all my info, except for the room request. It said it wasn't accepting room requests or special celebrations right now. I tried again today, and got the same message.

Anyone else have a problem with on line check in? I am using Touring Plan's fax service as well.

P.S. No line for balcony, just for patio and the names of the buildings.

Interesting. I hadn't heard that but it does make sense not to tear it up during the hottest time of year.

The Poly seems pretty full for most days all the way through to the end of the year. I did a search for rooms in lots of different times of months, and not much comes up that's available. So it looks like whenever they start construction, the resort will be pretty full anyway.
Personally, I wish they'd just leave the pool alone. I mean, hasn't the Poly had enough?

The later they push the pool out, the worse for me and my December trip with a garden view.

Just wanted to pass along what we were told / what we saw last week - we were there 6/29-7/2.

Take this with a grain of salt since they will probably be the last to know, but the CL Cast Member that checked us in told us the East/Quiet Pool would be closing "any day" and it could even be while we were there (it didn't). Probably a safe answer on their part to set our expectations low.

It will be tough to explain this in writing, but the way they poured the recently completed paths around that whole east pool "quad" makes getting to the east pool somewhat awkward at best. They poured the pathways up to a point and stopped, presumably where a future construction fence will go. They put down mulch as a "bridge" between the new path and old path leading into the pool area. It was like this in several spots around the pool. In my amature view, the way they poured these paths with the awkward gaps accessing the east pool certainly makes it seem like construction is close, it's not really a long-term setup at all.

Maybe not what folks want to hear, but hope it helps.

Are there indoor showers in the main pool area? We always like to spend our last day at the pool since we take the last flight home and it would be nice to shower up before we head off to the airport.

I think Disney has to modify all their pools to add fences. Not sure if they have a date they have to have them done by or anything. Just I was under the impression that eventually every pool on property will be fenced.

Have you tried a different browser. Every so often I have issues with Disney's site when using Chrome. I switch to IE and it works. So now if anything on the site is working wonky, I tried a different browser. Usually that helps
