Disney's POLYNESIAN VILLAGE RESORT Information & Questions

Oh my Gosh! This sounds mostly horrendous! It seems like the manager did everything he could do, but for me, it would have been too late. I've been second-guessing our move to CR from Poly since we did it back in February, but methinks we made the right choice. We have a standard view in the garden wing at CR, so I know the scenery won't exactly be beautiful, but it at least seems like the resort is up and running in its entirety, and for me, that's piece of mind!

That was my very first stay in a deluxe, was the Contemporary standard view, in that same garden wing that is still there. I remember being so excited, going out on to the patio and looking up and seeing the monorail go by above. I couldn't believe it was a monorail view! haha Brings back memories, you'll like those rooms, very convenient and large rooms.

We just returned yesterday from a 6-night stay in Samoa and had a great time. Our room was great! It did show a little wear and tear but it was clean, really clean. We loved our view of the quiet pool.

Never stayed at the Poly before and not very familiar with the layout. If you were staying in a standard room - what would your request be? Is there a particular floor or longhouse that you would recommend? I'd prefer to not have a view of the construction if possible. Thanks for any recommendations!

Tokelau is my fav location. But if you're sharing one studio I'm not sure you'll all fit? It will be pretty squishy.

Take a look at resort map on page one to see which location you'd prefer. To be away from pool construction of East Pool, request Samoa main pool view, or one of the long houses on the other side of the resort.

8/18-8/27. There are 7 of us...to celebrate my 40th bday (and Dd's 10th so she doesn't feel left out!)

So, we check in to a standard room on 7/31. We are there for 8 nights.
I have not put in any request other than a patio level room. We do not need early check in but we do have 2 reservations and hope to not have to move room. Both are the same room category.
My question is, am I going to regret not putting in a building request? I've tried to research the resort and don't have strong preferences towards any particular location. Am I ok leaving it just with Patio? Or if it were you would you request a specific building?

I look forward to hearing about your CR stay Scott. CR & BW are the only 2 deluxe we haven't stayed at. Mostly because they are the least appealing to me. But think I'd enjoy the garden wing more than tower at CR. I enjoy some green space.

I do think we'll like CR, maybe just not our parking lot view! I'll be sure to post my thoughts!
As for BW...it's in a 3 way tie with BC/YC to be our favorite, and hands-down, the best CL experience we've had! It is a gorgeous resort. You should wander over there and look around. See if you like the atmosphere....

I have to say Scott, that we were very surprised by how much we liked CR last October. For some reason, the the look and layout never appealed to us but in my quest to try every deluxe, we went for it and are so glad we did. Being so close to the MK and having the ability to walk right in....priceless!!

We honestly cannot wait to return next month and are hoping our girls enjoy their first stay as much as we did.

To be honest, if we got solid confirmation that the pool wouldn't be closing 'til the end of the summer, I can't say that we wouldn't make the jump back to POLY. We'll see, won't we?

i should add that i also celebrated my 40th at disney, although that time we were at BC/ GF. we do have special plans this time! there are 8 of us eating at victoria and albert's on the actual day of my bday. myself, dh, our kids, my dad, and three of my friends. then we will finish off the night at mizner's at the GF. i can't wait! how about you?

oh, and you asked about a longhouse. we will be in hawaii so we are all set.
