What time was your Ohana reservation? We had one for 8:30 am and were seated right after we had our picture taken with Pluto. We had a great experience there.

We had a later reservation as it was check out day and we had a 4:45 pm flight - so our reservation was for 11:20 am, we were seated just about 12:15, and then waited, and waited, and waited for our server to bring us drinks and for the food runner to bring the food. A bummer of a last experience for sure - but that's the risk you take with a late 'Ohana reservation. We were there so late that we saw them lighting the fires for dinner service.

Missing being able to post in the Poly thread! We will be in Florida in October (Vero Beach) and are considering dinner at Poly for our WDW day. Concerning pre-dinner cocktails, the lapu lapu didn’t do much for me but the frosty pineapple from the pool bar was crazy good. I have no interest in breaking the rules to hang by the pool (it didn’t do much for me even hen we were staying there!) however would I be allowed to enter the area to grab a drink then head right back out? Silly question I know but just curious.

It’s about 10pm and I’m sitting on my 3rd floor balcony in the Fiji longhouse (marina side). It’s a nice cool night after quite a rainy afternoon & evening.

We checked in at 7:30am this morning. Had breakfast at Kona Cafe. Relaxed at the lava pool for a bit then went to Disney Springs. Finished the day with dinner at California Grill.

DH & DD are already asleep but I just can’t seem to drift off like them! We head to Epcot early tomorrow - first day of Food & Wine!! DD is excited because she turned 21 last week so she can partake in the Wine part now!

Some random info - I booked a standard view room and requested 3rd floor with balcony (request was added to reservation by travel agent) so Disney did meet our request. We got our room ready text at about 10:30am. When I did online check in I indicated we’d be arriving st 7:30am. The system didn’t let me add any requests like in previous years. The bell service CM made a comment that we got in our room early. He laughed and said no one gets in their room this early. Hmmm...we did last year too. Must be something about August?

H2O Marine Toiletries - our room still had the individual bottles. Shampoo, Conditioner, Body Wash, Lotion, Cooling Aloe Gel, Bar Soap, Mouthwash, Vanity Kit (Qtips, cotton rounds, nail file), Shower Cap

Captain Cooks- the coolers are being refurbished and there is one small individual cooler with bottled water, milk, juice, Powerade. I saw a list on the wall by it with foods like cold sandwiches but I didn’t read it closely.

The walkway in front of Tonga, between Fiji & Aotearoa and the GCH is open again. They took the two palms trees out.

Ah, I hear the Electric Water Pageant now (10:15pm)

I’m not sure about the pool area but I thought the same drink was available from the window of Trader Sams. Hopefully someone can confirm or deny.

If the Spikey Pineapple is what you guys are referring to, it's on the menu for Trader Sam's Tiki Terrace: https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/en_CA/dining/polynesian-resort/trader-sams-tiki-terrace/menus/

There's also a Frosty Pineapple on the Barefoot Pool Bar menu, if it's accurate: https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/en_CA/dining/polynesian-resort/barefoot-pool-bar/menus/

Honestly not sure the difference?

The Barefoot Pool bar has side open to non-guests.

@GADisneyDad14 to the rescue! Bar open to non-guests is great news. Not sure how I didn’t notice this in July but thanks

Oh and I had both the spikey and the Frosty last month and they are different somehow. Both were excellent, and with the rum float it’s hard to beat the Spikey version, but the frosty was somehow less sweet with hints of vanilla and just so smooth. Gotta love our WDW idiosyncrasies :)

I got my room at POFQ at like 9 a.m. one time.

Hello Poly fans!
Can someone describe the difference between a cabana and a patio? Are cabanas at the volcano pool and patios at oasis? I tried to find pictures and it looks like it’s more of a shade pavilion than an actual cabana with any privacy. Also, I thought I read you can order food to be delivered to your cabana, is that right? Do they have waiters or do you have to go order yourself? Just dreaming of lounging poolside with cocktail deliveries...any pictures of either would be appreciated. Mahalo!

The only cabanas are at the oasis pool, and yes, they are more like a pavilion. There are 3 and they can be reserved up to 180 days in advance, for either a full or half day.

We had a cabana at the Oasis pool, they aren't private at all but it was nice to have a shady spot to sit and relax. The poolside server comes around to the cabanas, he checked on us pretty frequently. There are no cabanas at the Volcano pool, they also have poolside servers there for food and drinks (it's the same food menu).

I forgot to take the paper with the general manager's name and email address, does anyone have it? I'd like to email him about how nice it used to be to watch the movies under the stars in lounge chairs. It's no fun on the ground when you have a bad back. Thanks!

Any idea if the Malasadas donuts are still available at the Oasis pool bar?
