Just back from a week stay at Club Level. While we have stayed at Club Level most of the time during our 17 years of Disney visits, this sadly will be our last. We found that while we continue to love the view, the food offerings have declined to a point where they do not justify the stay. We found the night appetizers cold most nights right after being put out for consumption. Most workers were there for the job (except for Irv, who always goes out of his way!) and we found that the "dining" area was often ill kept (tables dirty and not wiped down) which was a first for us to see! This was not a busy time as such and it was surprising and disappointing. The grounds however are beautiful, the Oasis pool looks magnificent and looks ready to open soon. We were told mid March. All the construction walls are down although they were still doing touch up work while we were there. I would again book Polynesian in a moments notice but would not spend the money on club level again as the service/food has just fallen to a point that it does not justify the cost.
Thanks for the update. We will be staying CL for the first time in August and I am seriously starting to wonder if its worth the expense for our family. We booked it for the added space of the lounge and being able to grab a little something for breakfast before we head out to the parks. We were hoping that the added service would be a nice perk too but I keep seeing mixed reviews. :(

I'm not planning on going to a park on my arrival day (driving in, so will be arriving late morning, early afternoon)

What are some things I should check out while exploring the resort?

That is terrible. I wonder if these are the effects that many will be seeing with the "disney" cuts that has everyone talking. I heard that CL was an area that was going to see cuts.

Oh boy, I am super bummed to hear that!! We are planning on Poly CL for our August 2017 trip. I am going to have to keep an eye on the reviews for sure prior to booking! :surfweb:

[GALLERY=][/GALLERY]Checked in on Saturday and we are halfway through our stay in a deluxe studio rented through David's.

The great:
Location! We are in Pago Pago and can be at TTC in minutes.

Room layout: Our toddler is sleeping in the pack n play in the smaller bathroom area with no toilet. This allows us to watch TV and not have to sit in the dark for all her naps and early bedtimes. It's wonderful!

The not so great:
Our room is dirty. Built up grime in the bathrooms and food ground into the carpet.

Bugs: we are located across from a trash/recycling area and there has been the same trash sitting on the floor for over 36 hours and there are ants and other small bugs everywhere including into our room. I lived in Florida for years, I understand bugs are everywhere but this is lack of cleanliness.

Room service trays are also sitting in the hallways almost all day. A room 2 doors down has gotten breakfast each morning and the trays will still be sitting there when we return and 8pm. Ugh the ants!

If I was paying Cash Disney rate I'd feel ripped off. For us the location is worth the rented points price when traveling with a stroller and needing to return to the room for toddler naps.

This is really unfortunate. Aren't the studios new? How are they already so filthy? We are staying there in June and paying cash...awesome.

Just got back last night from 4 nights at the Polynesian! We stayed in Fiji, first floor, facing the Lava pool and the Marina! The room was large, comfortable and accessible to everything!!! Also, as of yesterday, the Oasis Pool was not open, but all the furniture was in place. I would expect it to open this weekend.

Thanks for the update. We will be staying CL for the first time in August and I am seriously starting to wonder if its worth the expense for our family. We booked it for the added space of the lounge and being able to grab a little something for breakfast before we head out to the parks. If those are the main reasons you booked CL, you will love it! Personally, we love Poly CL -- it's one of our favorite CL's to date. Not necessarily for the 5-7 pm food offerings, but more for: the lounge space and lounge view, breakfast each morning, location of the CL building, steps away from main pool and main building, POG juice for kids and POG juice for adults....just to name a few. I think other CL's are a notch above Poly as far as 5-7 pm food, but if you're not staying CL for that specific reason, then I think you'll be just fine. I posted some pictures of each night's food for a week straight last July in the CL thread.

As far as breakfast, we love the convenience of being able to go to the lounge whenever we're ready. A couple of us can head to the lounge and get the bagels started, while the others stay back in the room to finish getting ready. My kids have bagels, cantaloupe, watermelon, pineapple, and cereal almost every morning. Sometimes hard boiled eggs are there and oatmeal is always there. I think yogurt too. You can make toast and there are pastries/muffins. It's a good selection to get the day started. BC has upped their lounge offerings and now has a meat and cheese tray at breakfast too...hoping other lounges will follow. I usually just have oatmeal and cantaloupe each morning (and hard boiled eggs if there, but I've only seen them there over Easter week in a cute Easter basket!).

What TJA said - my sentiments exactly! Obviously this kind of stuff is highly subjective but Poly CL is our favorite CL of the monorail resorts. The convenience of the Hawaii location, the extra space in the lounge, and the quick morning breakfast will keep us going back. I do agree that Poly evening appetizer options lag the other CLs, but for us that's not why we book there. The PP's observation about the lounge not being cleaned of dishes is obviously inexcusable, they should be better about that. FWIW I had the same gripe about GF CL this past week, plenty of CMs around but were definitely not quick to clear tables. On the other hand I am continually shocked by how much mess guests make and they just walk away like it's someone else's job to clean up their dirty dishes after them. Regardless, I hope you have a great trip. Poly in August with both pools open (just steps away from Hawaii) will be fantastic.

Thanks for the input :) I feel better about it now. We have dining booked every night of our stay so will probably never be there for the evening offerings but are looking forward to being able to grab a night cap and see the fireworks from the lounge.

We will be checking in for the SW Run Disney races in April so not sure how many nights we will even be up for fireworks but still would like a view of the castle. We are staying in a DVC studio, so not sure if we should request a room closer to TTC. Any room suggestions would be a great help.
You didn't mention whether you have a lake view or standard view which will make a difference. We have stayed twice since the DVC studios have been open. Once in a lake view which was in the Moorea building last April right after it opened and this past January in Tokelau with a standard view.

Thoughts re:Moorea- If the original path is open to the TTC, we found Moorea particularly convenient to the TTC...it is a very pleasant 5-10 min walk and just as close as walking to the monorail at the GCH. The view from our second floor room there was partially blocked by the bungalows and we did hear the ferries in the morning. We also noted the grounds maintenance crew which started with machines in the sand and blowers at 6:30 in the am and that practice has continued from what I have read from recent posters. So if you have a water view room and don't like the noise I would request a room on a high floor on the opposite end of the TTC. The views of the fireworks were lovely.

Thoughts re: Tokelau. While we were there we had a third floor view on the opposite side from the oasis pool location. At this point the walls were still up so our view on the opposite side was a lovely grounds and pathway view. We were close to the elevator on the third floor and we found that location worked for us. With the opening of the Oasis pool, I think this might be a great choice for us going forward.

The studios started opening April of last year. We have stayed twice and box our studios were beautifully clean when we arrived. Never did we see the ants or room service trays on the floor.

Our only issue was our neighbors smoking on the balcony but a call to the front desk took care of that.

Thank you for sharing this. We are staying in a Standard Villa in May with out toddler, and I wad wondering if the Pack n Play would fit in the small bathroom. Thanks for sharing!

Sorry to hear that the cleanliness was not up to par. I WILL be paying cash, and won't hesitate to get someone in to re-clean if I have the same issues you do.

I agree with the pp's. We don't stay CL every trip, but when we do it's more for the lounge and having another place to sit and relax rather than in the room or around the resort. The food offerings are a nice perk, but it's not our main reason to stay CL. For my family, CL is worth the extra cost just to have the lounge, with the food/drinks being just a small added perk. Only you can decide whether or not the extra cost is worth a try for CL, but if it were me, I'd keep it. It does appear that things have changed with cut backs, but I still think CL is worth the experience. With that said, we love the Poly and have only stayed standard (although have stayed CL at other resorts), but we can't wait to try Poly CL in September :).

I'm not planning on going to a park on my arrival day (driving in, so will be arriving late morning, early afternoon)

What are some things I should check out while exploring the resort?

I love just walking around the resort taking in the beautiful surroundings, but you can check out Trader Sams, the pool, the beach, and the shops :goodvibes.

Thanks for checking in. I'm sorry about the issues with your room and the trash outside. I would definitely bring it to someone's attention, especially if there is an accumulation of ants and bugs.

We had breakfast this morning at Kona and I stopped by the registration desk to speak to a manager and was told there was not one readily available. I did express my concerns over the ants to the CM and when we got back to our room about an hour ago there was two employees vacuuming and cleaning right in front of our room and the trash was removed. Coincidence or not I'm just glad that after two days someone took out the trash!

That's interesting about the stone piece in the drain. When they opened these rooms those were steel pieces that went across the drain. So I guess they must have changed these out, and hopefully upgraded the drains. Those drains tend to drain slowly and overflow, so that's why you're probably seeing residue like that around the shower. It's a new design for the showers, so they're working the kinks out.
