This is one of my main concerns about trying the Poly also! Every time we've been there for dinner it's crazy packed. As opposed to the BC, which is pretty calm and quiet and relaxed. But it's a beautiful resort and the location is great so we really want to try it. So, that's why we are just trying 3 nights and moving on to the BC which we know we love. I'm nervous about a split stay though!
Yeah, I almost did a split stay too but decided against it just because it seemed like to much of a hassle. But lots of people do it and have very positive comments about it. I'm sure you'll be fine. And...you will have more info for your next stay!

Quoting myself because there was no reply and I am still curious. The Oasis Pool hours may effect which side of Tokelau we request. Does anyone remember "quiet" pool hours from before the rehab? Is there a pic of the pool sign somewhere maybe? I checked Tikimans site, but didn't find this info. Thanx for any help!

Officially all the WDW leisure pools have the same hours as the main feature pool. However, some resorts do not enforce that and some do. My parents did a split stay at Pop and CBR in September and found that at Pop there was security stationed at all the pools after coming home from MK around 2AM. At CBR the main pool has a locked gate but there was no security at the leisure pools and people were swimming as late as 2AM.

Hello Poly fans! We are DVC members and have been loyal guests of AKV for many years. We just fell in love with the resort during our first trip to Jambo... which set us up for a DVC purchase when Kidani opened. That being said, we'd like to experience all of the beautiful DVC resorts at least once, so this summer we are hoping to spend a few nights at the Poly. We're travelling during a very busy week - 6/26 through 7/5 - because my daughter is dancing as part of a special event that week. We know that the parks and resorts will be super crowded... but hoping to tour wisely and find some magic anyway! I'm going to try for a Lake View studio if there is one available at the 7-month mark. Should I be concerned about the East Pool construction? Any indication as to whether or not it will be completed by then? We do plan to spend some time at the resort, so I'm concerned about the pool crowds - and it would be nice to have the quiet pool option if it opens in time. We are excited about our first trip to the Poly!

I hope you have a great time at the Poly! :wizard:

We just returned from our trip and stayed in Hawaii club level garden view. The construction was a non-issue for us. They worked during the day and it was loud if you opened your patio door, but when it was closed, we couldn't hear a thing! I was shocked it was so quiet as we took daily breaks in the afternoon and were able to take some naps with all of that going on. Also, our view of the quiet pool was pretty much obstructed with palm trees and such, so unless we were walking to the TTC we really didn't notice it.

Glad you had a great trip with construction not being an issue for you :).

Hi fellow Poly fans! 9 days until we check in at the Poly! This trip is all we've been talking about it our house lately. This will be our third Poly stay and we splurged for a theme park view room.

Have a great trip! :yay:

Checking in around 11pm/midnight tonight depending on Magical Express. Just have to make it through work and it is so hard to focus.

Hope you're having a good time :goodvibes.

I miss the old lobby... Many trips as a kid, and I visited Poly on occasion when I lived in FL - big Ohana's fan..... but.... I walked into the lobby two weeks ago for the first time since it's been refreshed. I miss the old lobby. Last time I was there, the walls were still up.

I had to film it for my parents who were also disappointed based on my description.

You're not alone as I miss the old lobby, too :(.

I am contemplating staying here next December and wondering if anyone that has stayed here in december can give me some insight…is it still worth it at Christmas time??

I did a BC pOly split stay last trip, and we just fell in love with the Poly. Next big family trip it's all Poly, ha ha. I think a split stay is a good idea, but I am sure you will love it. As someone above said, the longhouses really give the a resort a very quiet and relaxed feel. Our room was much, much quieter than at Beach Club. Poly was the clear winner in my book.

Nice to know! I feel that we will probably love it (how could we not?? lol) but we totally fell in love with BC this past July (we love Epcot so the convenience was amazing). We can't bear the thought of not being there at all next trip! Depending on how the split stay works out, this may be how we go from now on.

There was no hours set for the East Pool (technically it is not a quiet pool, that is a nickname guests gave it). The lights were on all night and there are no gates to close the pool at any time.
Once the Oasis pool is completed it will be gated and probably follow the same hours as the Lava Pool.
This article has some information and the plans for the Oasis pool.

Here now. Got the best standard room we could ask for because it is so close to the great ceremonial hall and pool! Also not facing the construction. Our stay has been 1,000X better than our first Poly stay and has made us fall back in love with the resort.

Sounds amazing!! what building are you in?? We loved the poly our last stay a few years back and debating a Christmas trip there next year!

We are in Rarotonga. We got super lucky and are in the 2nd room on the first floor if you use the entrance closest to the Great Ceremonial Hall.

I am possibly planning a trip in December and the only room available is standard. What longhouse doesn't face construction, and is closest to GCH?

The one I reference above is great. Just ask for a room close to GCH. No guarentee but it is possible to get on steps away from the GCH.

Hi! My family will be staying at POLY Jan. 5-9 and are so excited! I see now that I am less than 60 days out that I can check in online. Should I go ahead and do this? What are the pros and cons of going ahead and checking in? Thanks!

Figi is very close to the GCH, on the other side of the resort from the construction, so guaranteed no view of the work being done on the east pool. You will either be facing Luau beach or the marina.

You will be checking into the Poly before you know it! :goodvibes

We've never done OCI as I like checking in at the resort, but there doesn't seem to be any advantages of one over the other (at least not that I've seen).

We will be staying at the end of July. Is all the construction scheduled to be completed by then?

I was told the east pool would be done by April by a CM, although I believe, in usual Disney fashion, the project is running a bit behind. By July it *should* be done, but there's no guarantee!

Is the east pool the only construction project that isn't finished?
